Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan teknik analisis deskriptif, tulisan ini berupaya menemukan upaya yang perlu dilakukan pemerintah Indonesia dalam mengatasi krisis lingkungan laut Indonesia terkait aktifitas illegal fishing.  Cara pandang yang tepat untuk    menyelesaikan krisis lingkungan laut adalah menggunakan ekosentrisme karena menjadikan kelestarian ekologi sebagai sasaran utama. Setelah mengarah pada cara pandang ekosentris, pemerintah Indonesia perlu untuk melakukan studi perbandingan terhadap negara-negara yang sudah menggunakan GPT dalam landasan politik dan konstitusinya. Upaya selanjutnya adalah restrukturisasi politik yang berorientasi pada kesinambungan ekologi. Selanjutnya adalah memperluas desentralisasi. Terakhir, upaya penanganan illegal fishing dilakukan dengan pemberdayagunaan kearifan lokal. As a country which has tropical rainforest, Indonesia has become important for the developed countries in the carbon trade cooperation, especially Norway. Indonesia has the potential natural resources, such as tropic rainforest and large of land, that can be used to reduce carbon emissions in the world. By signing the letter of intent (LoI) on May 26th in 2010 in Oslo, Indonesia and Norway have agreed to conduct carbon trading both of these two countries. On the one hand, this cooperation can be advantageous for Indonesia, because Indonesia gets one billion US dollars from Norway for Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) program , but on the other hand Indonesia can not maximize the exploitation of forestry sector and land because of the limitation caused by REDD. It eventually causes the carbon trading between Indonesia and Norway becomes important to be inquired. Sebagai negara yang memiliki hutan hujan tropis, Indonesia menjadi penting bagi negara- negara maju dalam kerja sama perdagangan karbon, terutama Norwegia. Indonesia memiliki potensi sumber daya alam, seperti hutan hujan tropis dan lahan yang luas, yang dapat digunakan untuk mengurangi emisi karbon di dunia. Dengan menandatangani letter of intent (LoI) pada 26 Mei 2010 di Oslo, Indonesia dan Norwegia telah sepakat untuk melakukan perdagangan karbon kedua negara ini. Di satu sisi, kerjasama ini dapat menguntungkan bagi Indonesia, karena Indonesia mendapat satu miliar dolar AS dari Norwegia untuk program Pengurangan Emisi dari Deforestasi dan Degradasi Hutan (REDD), tetapi di sisi lain Indonesia tidak dapat memaksimalkan eksploitasi sektor kehutanan dan lahan karena keterbatasan yang disebabkan oleh REDD. Hal tersebut menyebabkan perdagangan karbon antara Indonesia dan Norwegia menjadi penting untuk dipertanyakan. Judul proyek ini adalah “Tantangan Mewujudkan Kesetaraan Gender di Tataran Lokal. Studi Kasus: Upaya Pemberdayaan Sosial dan Ekonomi Komunitas Perempuan Penyintas Kekerasan”. Proyek ini dilaksanakan di wilayah Kabupaten Bandung Provinsi Jawa Barat. Riset ini memiliki arti penting mengingat angka kasus kekerasan terhadap perempuan di Indonesia masih cenderung tinggi, bahkan angka kasusnya meningkat pada 2017 jika dibandingkan data pada 2016. Selanjutnya, riset ini juga berfokus kepada poin 5 SDGs, khususnya poin 5.2 yaitu penghapusan seluruh bentuk kekerasan terhadap perempuan serta para gadis baik di ruang public maupun ruang privat. Pertanyaan riset yang akan dijawab melalui riset ini: Pertama, efek dari kekerasan berbasis gender terhadap kondisi sosio-ekonomi dari para perempuan di wilayah Majalaya, Paseh, Arjasari, dan Ciparay; Kedua, tantangan-tantangan yang dihadapi oleh para penyintas kekerasan terhadap perempuan; Ketiga, bagaimana dampak dari pendekatan “social entrepreneurship” terhadap pemberdayaan ekonomi dari para perempuan penyintas kekerasan. Riset ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus melalui pemilihan empat desa di kawasan Kabupaten Bandung yaitu Majalaya, Paseh, Arjasari, dan Ciparay sebagai lokasi utama dari riset lapangan ini. Para perempuan dari keempat desa ini tergabung ke dalam sebuah organisasi yang disebut Bale Istri yang diinisiasi oleh Sapa Institut. Abstract This research is a reflective study from a project funded by Australia Awards in Indonesia through Alumni Grant Scheme. The name of the project is “Social and Economic Empowerment of Women Domestic Violence Survivors”. The project took places in Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia. This research is important since the cases of violence against women in Indonesia are still high – even the number of the cases increased in 2017 compared to the data in 2016. In addition, this research also focuses on SDGs point 5 particularly point 5.2 to eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres. This research questions: firstly, the impacts of gender-based violence towards the economic and social conditions of the women in Majalaya, Paseh, Arjasari, and Ciparay; secondly, the challenges faced by the women violence survivors; thirdly, how social entrepreneurship impacts on the economic empowerment of the women violence survivors. Case study is utilized as the design of inquiry by selecting four villages in Bandung Regency including Majalaya, Paseh, Arjasari, and Ciparay as main sites of the field research. Infiltrasi nilai Barat dalam globalisasi ekonomi terlihat dari prinsip kapitalisme yang digunakan dalam pasar bebas dan institusi perekonomian global seperti International Monetary Fund (IMF), Bank Dunia, dan World Trade Organization (WTO). Hal tersebut bertentangan dengan prinsip yang dianut China yaitu “Sosialisme dengan Karakteristik China”, yang merupakan gabungan dari konfusianisme dan sosialisme. Dengan menggunakan pandangan konstruktivisme oleh Christian Reus-Smith, Alexander Wendt, dan Peter Katzenstein, artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa China memiliki interpretasi tersendiri dalam menanggapi globalisasi ekonomi ala Barat yang dipengaruhi oleh dua determinan yaitu pengaruh nilai domestik dan konteks internasional. The author conducted qualitative research to achieve this aim. Thus, this research is expected to enrich other research tools in matters relating to sister city cooperation or paradiplomacy in Indonesia, especially Denpasar. The main data analyzed in this study were obtained through semi-structured interviews with the Head of the Sub-Section for Foreign Cooperation of the Denpasar City in 2020 at the Secretariat of Denpasar. In addition, other types of data that support this research were obtained from the official local government website, several books, journals, reports, and online news sites which reliable and suitable for the content of the research. The focus of this research is to comply with the concept of paradiplomacy and south-south cooperation in identifying the motives behind this sister city cooperation, especially from the side of the Denpasar City Government. As a result, five motives were found that could encourage the Denpasar City Government to accept the sister city cooperation offered by the Mossel Bay Government in 2019, including the international market, tourism and culture, establishing the identity of international partners, the status of government administration, and most importantly, the bilateral relationship between the Indonesian government and the South African government, which in this regards, is an example of the implementation of the South-South Cooperation (SSC) concept. \u0000Abstrak \u0000Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakangi terjalinnya kerjasama sister city antara Pemerintah Kota Denpasar dengan Pemerintah Teluk Mossel pada akhir tahun 2019. Penulis melakukan penelitian kualitatif untuk mencapai tujuan ini. Sehingga, penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memperkaya perangkat penelitian lainnya dalam hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan kerjasama sister city atau paradiplomasi di Indonesia khususnya wilayah Kota Denpasar. Data utama yang dianalisis dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui wawancara jenis semi terstruktur dengan Kepala Sub Bagian Kerjasama Luar Negeri Kota Denpasar tahun 2020 di Sekretariat Kota Denpasar.
