Innovation involves the introduction of new concepts, products, or techniques that drive economic progress and enhance quality of life. On the other hand, energy sustainability focuses on ensuring the availability of cost-effective and reliable energy resources while mitigating environmental impacts. In Asia, the most populous and diverse region in the world, the correlation between innovation and energy sustainability holds significant importance. The region faces the complex task of balancing rapid economic growth and urbanization with the imperative to adopt sustainable energy practices. To assess performance and identify best practices, two key global indicators, namely the Global Innovation Index (GII) and the Energy Trilemma Index (ETI), can provide valuable benchmarks. This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of innovation and energy sustainability among 32 Asian countries using a two-stage Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model that incorporates the Super Slacks-based Measure (Super SBM) and Malmquist approaches. Additionally, hierarchical cluster analysis will be applied to group these countries based on their efficiency scores. By examining efficiency levels, influential factors, and the impact of the innovation-energy sustainability relationship on economic growth, this research can assist policymakers in making informed decisions. Furthermore, this study seeks to contribute to the existing body of knowledge by conducting a comprehensive investigation into the relationship between innovation and energy sustainability in the Asian region. A shift in interests among young, qualified applicants raises the question of whether the integration of sustainable values into the business model, strategy, and brand of small and medium sized companies (SMEs) can increase its attractiveness as an employer (Holt, Marques, & Way, 2012). The literature shows that the effects of sustainability on organizational determinants are still in need of further research. Previous studies observe a positive relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and organizational attraction but fail to consider the complex nature of the decision process of applicants by only considering the isolated effect of CSR (Albinger & Freeman, 2000). Furthermore, various studies find different character traits among age groups (Cennamo & Gardner, 2008). Traditional financial measurements have been criticized for focusing on past activity, neglecting intangible assets, and lacking effective strategy testing (Kaplan & Norton 1992; Dearden 1987). To overcome these limitations, organizations have adopted strategic measurement tools like the Balanced Scorecard (Kaplan and Norton, 1996a). The Balanced Scorecard aligns an organization's vision, mission, and strategies with objectives and measures across four perspectives: financial, customer, internal process, and learning and growth (Kaplan and Norton 1992; 1996a). The presence of causal relationships across these perspectives, enabling non-financial measures to predict financial outcomes, has been a subject of scholarly debate (Nooreklit 2000,2003; Norreklit and Mitchell 2007). This study aims to contribute to the understanding of causal relationships in the PSBSC by investigating the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard in the DGT and its potential to improve organizational performance. Given Indonesia's fiscal deficit and below-average tax ratio performance, this research provides an alternative policy perspective for enhancing the institutional capacity of the DGT and achieving higher tax revenue and compliance rates. With the increasing number of fintech companies in the market, competition has become intense, leading companies to differentiate themselves to attract and retain clients (Nair et al., 2021). One way to create brand value is through exceptional customer experience, with customer support service being a critical factor in its creation (Nair et al., 2021; Vuorinen, Uusitalo, & Vos, 2012). Despite its importance, the impact of customer support service on consumer behavior and company performance is not well-understood (Gulfraz et al., 2022). Many organizations outsource non-core activities with the intention to reduce costs, concentrate on core activities, gain access to skilled workforce, and etc. Logistics activities are one of the popular functions for organizations to outsource due to lack of skill and resources. Nowadays, outsourcing logistics activities is becoming a practice worldwide (Yang, 2014). Logistics outsourcing has proven to be an effective way for organization to improve customer services, reduce logistics costs, and gain competitive advantage (Aguezzoul, 2014; Jonsson, 2008; Kamble and Gawankar, 2016). This results in an emerging of 3PL or Third-party logistics provider, an external logistics service provider offering single or multiple logistics activities to its customers, which typically is on contract basis (Yang, 2014). The global 3PL market reached $750 billion in 2014. 80% of all Fortune 500 companies and 96% of the Fortune 100 used some form of 3PL services (Menner, 2015). Despites the benefits, there are some risks associated with loss of control, long-term commitment, and the failure of 3PL to perform their works. Therefore, it is crucial for a company to invest time during initial stages of the outsourcing relationship to ensure value is achieved throughout the process. The feasibility of achieving these targets, akin to the transformation seen during the collapse of the Soviet Union, is being questioned. Yet, hope lies in leveraging tipping points within complex systems for rapid change. Internal carbon pricing (ICP) emerges as a pivotal tool in this endeavor, enabling companies to assess investments, manage risks, and align strategies towards a low-carbon future (Riedel et al., 2021; Trinks et al., 2022). ICP drives decarbonization across industries and influences capital investment decisions by estimating carbon costs. Companies like LG Electronics, Microsoft, and Royal Dutch Shell have adopted ICP, further reinforcing its value in transitioning to sustainability. Major economies have implemented carbon pricing policies, yielding significant emissions reductions. In China, aggressive carbon pricing strategies could drive notable energy consumption reductions (Fan et al., 2014). Meanwhile, Malaysia faces a challenge in reducing carbon emissions, with strategies like renewable energy integration, energy efficiency enhancement, and sustainable transportation promotion (Farabi et al., 2019). This study focuses on Malaysia's decarbonization efforts, aiming to illuminate factors influencing corporate decarbonization in alignment with national climate targets. Addressing gaps in sector-specific decarbonization studies and exploring strategies that make decarbonization a competitive advantage will provide critical insights for effective policymaking and sustainable practices, contributing to global climate action. All societies around the world are faced with emergency situations, and many are confused about implementing various precautions to deal with the situation. Mitigating the COVID 19 pandemic requires active involvement and support from various parties, both from the community, government and the private sector. The social role of various parties is urgently needed to tackle the pandemic. This includes companies taking an important role in initiating activities that have a positive impact on people's lives, and as a form of implementing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as an expression of organizational sustainability. As a consequence, companies are expected to be able to address urgent issues that endanger life on Earth, such as hunger, inequality and climate change. Activity-based learning activities are important to help students understand various challenges in the real world in the provided learning environment. Yuliani and Lengkanawati (2017) argued that the involvement of learners in hands-on activities is a more meaningful source of knowledge compared to a source of knowledge that is only acquired theoretically through lectures and referring books. In the philosophy of constructivism, it is also emphasized that learners' knowledge can be built themselves through the experiences in their learning process (Knapp, 2019). Accordingly, the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is emphasized in the education sector as a necessity to produce a workforce that can meet the needs of the job market. According to the Malaysian Education Plan (PPPM 2013-2025), one of the aspirations from the plan is to rapidly catalyse technical and vocational education training in order to produce a highly skilled and adaptable workforce that is innovation, creative and competitive. Art is the key to creativity. The production of artwork allows children to explore opportunities and is not like other subjects to determine probability (Roy, 2019). However, like many other Southeast Asian countries, there are several challenges and problems that need to be addressed to increase competitiveness with socio-economic globalization (Grigorenko, 2019). Cocoa planting in some areas of the country, North and East regions. It has a small number of farmers, but they are major cocoa producers for cocoa manufacturing in the country. The cocoa supply chain in Thailand includes farmers, collectors, community enterprises, manufacturing, and exporters. The farmers are upstream in the cocoa supply chain. They have less negotiation power in the chain, causing limited distribution channels. The farmer sells cocoa beans through collectors or maybe intermediaries. Selling prices depend on cocoa pricing in the world market. Therefore, they need help increasing selling prices. However, another way to improve their revenue from cocoa planting is the increasing efficiency of their operations. This paper aims to study the waste in the cocoa supply chain. The area of study is Nan province in Thailand. The farmers of community enterprises in the Nan province of North Thailand, collectors, and manufacturers were selected as the sample frame. Farmers' data was collected through the questionnaire, and 66 community enterprise members were selected with purposive sampling. One collector and one manufacturer were interviewed through semi-structured interviews. Finally, a value stream mapping tool was used to analyze the manufacturing process. The value stream mapping analysis results found as follows. The value added activity (VA) count for 42.42% of all activities, taking 89.70% of all time in one cocoa's value chain cycle. However, as a result, it found that the number of necessary but non-value added (NNVA) for 48.48% and using time was 3.12% of the total time. non-value-added (NVA) activities in 9.09% of all activities.
