We formed chain ratio and product estimators for the population mode using two types of auxiliary information under the two-phase sampling scheme. Methods: Expressions for biases and mean square errors for the formed estimators up to the first order of approximation are obtained. The confidence intervals of the estimators are obtained and the aspects related to fixed cost and fixed variance are also studied. A simulation study is performed to support the theoretical outcomes. A real dataset is also provided which was collected from the department of agriculture, United States. Results: The simulation results for the fixed first-phase sample size and the second-phase sample size show that the mean square error is 0.035, the bias is 0.012, the confidence interval is 2.67-3.15, and the cost of the survey under the fixed variance is ₹ 194.67 of the proposed estimator , which is lower than 0.039, 0.055, 2.70-3.20, and ₹ 247.37 of the ratio estimator and 0.078, 0.041, 2.57-3.31, and ₹ 268.73 of the naive estimator . We present the case of an aggressive CGCG in a 16-year-old boy with a 5-month history of facial swelling and nasal obstruction. He was referred for a radiology consult for multiple expanding swellings on the right hemi-face. The swellings were reported to have an insidious onset, slow progression and no association with paresthesia, nasal discharge, or systemic symptoms. Extra oral examination revealed a diffuse swelling on the right side of the face which obliterated the nasolabial fold causing facial asymmetry. A face and neck computed tomography (CT) showed expansile multi loculated lytic lesions of the right mandibular ramus which involved the condyle and hard palate. Similar lesions were also found in the skull base. Scans showed fine internal septations and internal ground glass haze. It also revealed involvement of several teeth roots and surrounding soft tissues. A pre-operative intra-oral biopsy of the lesion revealed multinucleated giant cells, comprising of both spindle-shaped and round cells. Differential diagnosis helped determine the lesions as CGCG. This case helps to demonstrate the wide variation in the clinical, radiological, and histopathological features of CGCG and the importance of thorough investigation for timely diagnosis.","PeriodicalId":14297,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Scientific Reports","volume":"176 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90223482","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bedaquiline, an enantiomer chemically belongs to the diarylquinoline (DAR) compound, which is nearly related to fluoroquinolones and chloroquine with differences in their side-chain moiety. Amongst all anti-TB medicines that have been approved, bedaquiline has a unique mechanism, which targets energy metabolism i. e.; adenosine triphosphate of mycobacteria, and eventually leads to bacterial cell lysis. ATP is an essential energy-producing molecule required for metabolic actions and survival of Mycobacteria and also for many other cells. Mycobacteria generally invade into well-encapsulated lung cavities and endosomes of macrophages, which can survive even under low oxygen levels leading to resistance against standard TB drugs. Bedaquiline has a spectrum of activity against drug-susceptible TB and MDR TB. Many clinical trials and studies demonstrated that bedaquiline is a crucial component of a combination regimen for multidrug-resistant TB. Social media platforms generate a vast amount of data that requires automated and reliable classification to facilitate analysis and decision-making. Ontology driven machine learning models offer a promising approach to address this need by harnessing the power of both ontologies and machine learning algorithms to improve accuracy and efficiency. However, the application of such models to social media data classification poses unique challenges due to the complex and dynamic nature of social media data. To address this research gap, a systematic literature search was conducted, and 20 studies were included in the review. The findings of this review suggest that ontology driven machine learning models offer a promising approach to address the challenges of social media data classification. However, the existing literature highlights several challenges that need to be addressed, such as ontology development, feature selection, and model validation. Overall, the review provides insights into the current state of research on ontology driven machine learning models for social media data classification, identifies research gaps, and suggests directions for future investigation.","PeriodicalId":14297,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Scientific Reports","volume":"70 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72723714","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It arises from remnants of the Rathke's pouch, which is an embryonic structure that forms during the development of the pituitary gland. Craniopharyngiomas typically develop near the pituitary gland, in the area known as the sellar region. These tumors can cause various symptoms depending on their size and location, including hormonal imbalances, vision problems, headaches, and growth abnormalities. The management of craniopharyngioma involves a multidisciplinary approach, including surgery, radiation therapy, and hormone replacement therapy. Long-term outcomes can be influenced by the tumor's size, location, and the treatment modality used. Therefore, early recognition, accurate diagnosis, and appropriate treatment are crucial for optimizing the quality of life and long-term prognosis for individuals with craniopharyngioma. A detailed review of a number of craniopharyngioma cases is presented in this case series publication, with an emphasis on the clinical presentation, diagnostic methods, therapeutic options, and long-term results. This study's goal is to give doctors and researchers who work with patients who have this difficult malignancy useful information.","PeriodicalId":14297,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Scientific Reports","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78162711","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The median age at start is 6.5 years, and the median survival is less than a year. The fact that adults with DIPG live longer suggests that their tumours are less aggressive and have physiologically distinct origins than those in children. Approximately, 10% of all abdominal wall hernias are defined as umbilical hernia. The European hernia society defines a primary umbilical hernia as a ventral hernia present at birth or developed spontaneously without trauma to the abdominal wall as the cause of the hernia and with its center at the umbilicus. Rectus sheath block has been traditionally used to provide analgesia for anterior abdominal wall surgeries, as it spares the visceral pain component. It’s been used efficiently for intraoperative, post-operative analgesia, providing stable hemodynamic. The emergence of ultrasound has potentially increased the rate of success, while avoiding complications like bleeding, peritoneal puncture, visceral injury. Rectus sheath block is emerging as a valuable regional. Anesthesia technique. It can be used as an adjuvant or alternative to central neuraxial block and general anesthesia for surgeries of anterior abdominal wall, pediatric umbilical hernia, incisional hernia, laparoscopic surgeries and abdominal gynecological procedures and for analgesia. This scoping review aimed to characterize the application of qualitative research during the COVID-19 pandemic, with two primary objectives: identifying the qualitative research methods and adaptations applied, and summarizing the research questions which the studies sought to answer. CINAHL and PsycINFO were systematically searched for qualitative studies relating to COVID-19 and published between January 2020 and November 2021. Articles were screened and included in the review using pre-defined eligibility criteria. A total of 535 articles met the inclusion criteria, mostly from North America and Europe. An observed methodological adaptation was a surge in virtually conducted research – most studies collected data through interviews, 52% of which were conducted virtually using telephone or teleconferencing technology. Similarly, 27% of the focus group discussions and 20% of the ethnographies were conducted virtually. A textual narrative synthesis of all reviewed studies identified four major groups: health-related studies, education-related studies, studies about vaccine acceptance, and studies in specific population groups, such as the elderly, ethnic minorities, and working-class women in patriarchal contexts. There was a seeming neglect of the experience of youths, and insufficient attention has been paid to the dynamics of medical distrust with regard to vaccine hesitancy. Qualitative research has been applied to extensively explore people’s perceptions and experiences of the pandemic. The progressive improvement of virtual research methods will be beneficial for future pandemic preparedness. More representation of research from under-resourced regions of the world is also needed.","PeriodicalId":14297,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Scientific Reports","volume":"45 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86638221","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
