UV spectrophotometric detection was carried out at absorption maxima (λmax) at 231nm using methanol as a solvent. The quantitation of drug was carried out using A1% 1cm at 231nm and Beer’s law was obeyed in the concentration range of 2.5-20 μg/ml, with correlation coefficient value less than 1.The chromatographic separation was carried on a C-18 (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5μ) column using an isocratic mode with a mixture of Acetonitrile:Phosphate Buffer (pH-7) in the ratio of 55:45% v/v as a mobile phase. The flow rate was 1.5ml/min, temperature is maintained at ambient and detection was made at 231 nm using Photodiode array (PDA) detector. The developed method was validated according to ICH guidelines and different analytical parameters such as linearity, precision, accuracy, specificity, limit of detection, limit of quantitation were determined. The percent amount of drug estimated was nearly 100%, found to be a good agreement with label claim of prepared laboratory mixture. The proposed method was validated for its accuracy, precision, robustness, ruggedness, linearity, limit of detection, limit of quantitation and was found to be in range (% RSD<2.0 and SD <±2.0). Both methods were validated and found to be simple, sensitive, accurate, and precise. The results of the study and statistical data proved the applicability of the present method in routine analysis of Dofetilide in bulk as well as laboratory prepared mixture.","PeriodicalId":14252,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of PharmTech Research","volume":"48 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90049321","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are number of drugs are now available for treatment. Drugs of herbal origin reduce the offensive factors and have proved to be safe, clinically effective, relatively less expensive, globally competitive, and with better patient tolerance.This study was performed to assess the anti-ulcer activity on different parts of B.aristata. Apart from that, acute toxicity, qualitative chemical analysis, total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content(TFC) and in vitro antioxidant activities were evaluated. The potentially active plant part was selected for screening as gastro protective, in vivo antioxidant and antisecretory activities in ulcerated rats.The 50% ethanolic extract of B. aristata were subjected to preliminary phytochemical screening, estimation of TFC and TPC. The crude extract from the leaves of B. aristata gave best antiulcer activity among flower and stem. In acute toxicity studies, the administration of the crude extract of B. aristata leaves did not reveal any adverse effects or toxicity in rats at fourteen days observations.The results of these studies have shown that ethylexract of B.aristata leaf (EEBAL) produced a significant dose dependent ulcerprotective, antioxidant and antisecretory activity by blocking the activity of proton pump, protecting from antioxidants produced during stress induced ulcer and by enhancing glycoprotein levels. Abbreviation: TPC, total phenolic content; TFC, total flavonoid content; EEBAL, ethanolic extract of Berberis aristata leaf. Introduction: Peptic ulcer represents a major health problem, both in terms of morbidity and mortality. The aggressive acid-pepsin factors are responsible for the induction of ulcers. Berberis aristata DC var. aristata (Berberidaceae), are commonly known as Daruharidralocal to the Himalayas in India and in Nepal. It is also found in Nilgiri slopes in South India 1,2,3 .The plant is utilized customarily in irritation, wound mending, skin ailment, menorrhagia, looseness of the bowels, jaundice and fondness of eyes.Alcoholic extract of bark yielded berberine chloride, palmatine chloride and a mixture of both 4 . The chief constituent of the roots and stem bark of B. aristata is an alkaloid, berberine are responsible for hepatoprotective activity 5 . The crude extract of B.aristata fruits exhibit preventive and curative effects on paracetamol and chloroform induced hepatotoxicity 6 .Berberisaristata also exhibits anti-diarrhoeal, anti-fungal, anti-histaminic an anticholinergic activities 4 . And it causes severe respiratory and systemic infection. Research interest on coronaviruses has been increased after the outbreak of the highly pathogenic Severe Acute respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (SARS-CoV) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV). Wuhan, China was first infected country for COVID-19 and it is now spread wordwide. As on April 14 there are more than 100,000 death reported all over the country. The animal to human transmission is suspected to be the route cause of the viruses. Further investigation need to be confirmed for the origin of the noval virus. COVID-19 was recently identified in saliva of infected people. So the potential transmission of the virus is through saliva of infected people. The main challenges in treating glioblastoma are its resistance to the chemo-radiotherapy, poor outcome and low survival rate. The World Health Organization (WHO) 2016 classification identifies two types of glioblastoma by its mutational status of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH); since our national insurance experiences budget-limitation, we could not freely apply it in our institutions. We aims to find the prevalence and outcome of glioblastoma-not otherwise specified (NOS) based on its clinical manifestations and histopathology findings. Methods: We performed retrograde-analysis based on clinical and histology findings on 48 glioblastoma-NOS patients from 2012-2017. We analyzed its characteristic, primary complains, lesions location, macroscopic findings, therapy and the final outcomes. Results: Glioblastoma-NOS is the most common type of gliomas occurs in adults ages 49.29±12.13 years (range 17-72 years). The tumor predominantly involves the frontal lobe (25%) with chronic progressive headache as the chief complaint (90%); 93.8% of the patients underwent tumor removal and received chemo-radiotherapy after surgery based on the histopathology findings. The median survival is 18 months and the prevalence of glioblastoma-NOS in our tertiary referral hospital is 4.72%. Conclusion: Hopefully, our study will improve the understanding of the regional differences in glioblastoma-NOS prevalence and pave the way for identifying the regional risk factors that would allow us to improve the protocols on glioblastoma detection, prevention and management. Further studies, incorporating molecular techniques into a patient’s tumor analysis for IDH1 mutant or wild type are required for the promise of personalized medicine.","PeriodicalId":14252,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of PharmTech Research","volume":"67 1","pages":"132-141"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78859159","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The difference of therapeutic efficacy of the same drug in different individual can be best explained by the study of genetic polymorphisms that underlie individual differences in drug response. The small change of the genome in one individual may make a drug inefficacious as oppose to the other patients. Such variability will bring the individualization of the therapy to obtain the best effects of the drug, as an example autologous dendrimer got a tremendous success in the cancer therapy of the individual. Markers of exposure can determine whether the desired target tissues of a subject have been exposed to a drug at physiological concentrations. Gene expression profiling is a tool that can be used to characterize chemically induced toxicity in cells and/or animal models, in order to provide plausible explanations for observed toxicity in preclinical testing. Pharmacogenomics holds the promise that drugs might one day in future be tailor-made for individuals and adapted to each person's own genetic makeup by the use of microarray technology to express the gene which in turn helps to develop receptor protein. The stability of the drug and its toxicity can be predicted prior to administration of the drug to the subject through the knowledge of computer assisted structural simulation and DNA reactivity technology respectively. This article provides some critical aspects of drug developments, clinical trial design and ethical issues which are centered with pharmacogenomics.","PeriodicalId":14252,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of PharmTech Research","volume":"26 1","pages":"66-78"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83605312","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
