Recurrent tonsillitis is a chronic inflammatory process in the palatine tonsils. Several studies have shown differences in pathogenic flora on surface and tonsillar core. This also causes an increase failure of eradicating germs in acute tonsillitis. Therefore, it falls into chronic stage. Identifying the bacterial organism in acute tonsillitis will guide appropriate antibiotic therapy that can revolutionize the management of chronic tonsillitis.Objectives: To determine the bacteria pattern from surface and tonsillar core in patients with recurrent tonsillitis. Methods: The research is a descriptive with cross sectional study. The sample of the study was patients with recurrent tonsillitis who underwent tonsillectomy surgery at Adam Malik General Hospital Medan and several satellite hospitals in Medan that met the inclusion criterias. Results:This study was attended by 33 recurrent tonsillitis subjects with more male(66,7%) and most of them below 20 years (66.7%).The most type of aerobic bacteria from surface and tonsillar core swabs was Staphylococcus aureus. Antibiotics that are still sensitive to Staphylococcus aureus in tonsillar core swabs are Gentamycin, Tigecycline, Clindamycin, and Inezolid. Antibiotics that are still sensitive to Staphylococcus aureus on surface smears are Tigecycline, Vancomycin, and Erythromycin. The bacteria form surface did not present bacteria from tonsillar core. The most anaerobic bacteria found on both ofthe surface and tonsillar core were Bacteroides fragilis.Conclusions:The swab cultures taken from the tonsillar surface may not always reveal the real pathogen of the tonsils. In addition, the estimated probability of tonsillar bacteriology by surface swabs varies with the type of the pathogen.","PeriodicalId":14252,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of PharmTech Research","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75705883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Application generally involves using a needle with an attached length of thread as evaluated for the potential to cause delayed skin contact sensitization in a Closed-patch test. This study was conducted base on the requirements of ISO 10993-10: Biological Evaluation of Medical Devices-Part 10: Tests for Irritation and Skin Sensitization. The guinea pig maximization test (GPMT) is made of the potential of the material under test to produce skin sensitization. The polar and nonpolar extracts were prepared by using saline solution and olive oil, respectively, after sinking the materials tested (2.0 g) in 10 ml of the corresponding liquid. Incubation was carried out at the temperature of 37 °C for 72 h. The saline solution and pure olive oil were used as negative control samples and were incubated under the same conditions as above. The guinea pig maximization test (GPMT) consist of intradermal induction phase, topical induction patches and challenge phase. Following a intradermal induction phase, The test item extract with polar and non polar solvent were injected in clipping area of each animal in test group and control group, respectively. Following a challenge phase, the test group and control group were challenged with the test item. No evidence of sensitization was observed. Individual results of skin scoring for the induction phase and the challenge phase is 0.0. Keyword : Surgical suture,Intravenous reactivity test. (Fabaceae) seeds are widely used for their diuretic and urolithiatic effects in India. The present study investigated the effect of aqueous extract of Macrotyloma uniflorum seeds (AEMU) on ethylene glycol induced urolithiasis in rats. To induce urolithiasis, 0.75% v/v ethylene glycol was administered orally for 14 days. The curative doses of 400 and 800 mg/kg were administered from 15th to 28th day. On 28th day, 24 hr urine, serum was collected and various biochemical parameters were estimated in urine, serum and kidney homogenate along with histology of kidney. Co-administration of AEMU with ethylene glycol has significantly (p<0.001) increased the urine volume and the level of calculus inhibitors like magnesium, citrate and decreased the level of calculus promoters like calcium, oxalate, uric acid and urea also decreased in crystallria in urine. AEMU supplement also prevented the pathological changes in kidney and increased the glomerulus activity of the kidney. These results indicate that AEMU showed significant activity in urolithiasis which might be due to its diuretic, calcium oxalate crystal formation inhibitory effects and its ability to increase the levels of inhibitors and decrease the level of promoters of urolithiasis.","PeriodicalId":14252,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of PharmTech Research","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83321562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cmax achieved at 2 h, duration of action persist for 6-12 h, resulting in multiple dosing to maintain plasma concentration and in vivo activity. Objective: The objective of research work was to design modified release tablets of Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg with the intention of once a day dosing. Cmax will achieve after 10 to 12 h of administration. This controlled release will constantly induce diuretic activity for whole night and day especially during early morning hours, resulting in decreased blood volume, reduced cardiac output and controlled blood pressure. When patient awakes up in morning, blood pressure will be comparatively low thus reducing the frequency of cardiac arrest.Method: Here an attempt has been made to kinetically calculate required in-vitro dissolution profile by deconvolution method using Wagner–nelson equation. Plasma concentration time profile of immediate release tablet 12.5 mg is available in literature and that of modified release formulation 25 mg is calculated such that Area under curve of modified release tablet matches with that of two immediate release tablets of 12.5 mg along with Cmax and Kel, thus meeting the criteria for bio-equivalency. Tmax will be delayed from 2 h to approximately 10 h. Results: In-vivo dissolution profile is calculated from the equation of “fraction of drug absorbed”. Perfect IVIVC is matched when value of slope is 1, intercept is 0 and correlation coefficient (R 2 ) 0.99. Conclusion: This in-vitro profile will be used further to develop modified release formulation.","PeriodicalId":14252,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of PharmTech Research","volume":"12 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88803078","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Subjects and methods: Thirty diplegic cerebral palsied children of both sexes were enrolled in the study with their ages ranged between 7 and 9 years. They were randomly and equally distributed into two study groups. The first group underwent the whole body vibration training and second group underwent suspension therapy through the spider cage. Also, both groups received the same designed physical therapy program. Stability indices and functional capacity were evaluated by using 6-minute walk test and Biodex stability system respectively before and after six successive months of treatment. Results: significant differences were obtained when comparing the pre and post treatment results of all measuring variables of both groups showed (P <0.05) except non-significant differences in medio-lateral stability index (P >0.05) in group I. Also, the results showed that the group underwent the suspension had more effect in comparison to the group of whole body vibration. Conclusion: Whole body vibration and suspension therapy training are effective additional tools in rehabilitation of diplegic cerebral palsied children with decreased balance and functional capacity in favor of the suspension therapy.","PeriodicalId":14252,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of PharmTech Research","volume":"37 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81262237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
