Metacognition is needed to develop students’ self-regulation which is required for learning complex topics such as algorithm and data structure (ADS). Previously, we develop an MTS to support algorithm-learning. However, the approach tends to be technology-centered, thus, producing low usability score. Therefore, this paper proposes an incorporation of user-centered design (UCD) into the development of the MTS to produce a more usable system. As a result, new information architecture, wireframe, and user interface design are obtained. Finally, the system usability testing is conducted to compare two versions of the MTS, i.e. older and newer version. The result shows that the newer version has higher usability scale. In addition, the newer version of the MTS shows a positive impact on a real learning situation, indicated by the significant difference on students’ performance between control and experiment group.","PeriodicalId":142523,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ICITEE)","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126178335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this projection method cannot be used entirely in the Papua Province because the industrial sector has not developed yet, and the trade andservices sectors are still relatively small and scattered. This paper proposes a new method that is mostappropriate to the characteristics of the region and population distribution in Papua Province, namely by using population growth and human development index (HDI) as driving factors for electricity demand growth projection. Using the system dynamics model and using 2015as the baseyear, the projection of average electricity needs per household in 20162050 in Papua Province have simulated. Biak-Numfor Regency, Jayapura Municipality, Jayawijaya Regency andMerauke Regency with different topography conditions were selected in this study to demonstrate the application of system dynamics model with the human development paradigm for projection of electricity needs per household in Papua Province. The method used in this study is the exponential regression between HDI as the independent variable and the average electricity consumption per household as the dependent variable. System dynamics modeling and simulation isdone using Powersim studio tool. At the beginning of the simulation year obtained HDI were 71.47;78.93; 55.03and 68.41 respectively in Biak-Numfor Regency, Jayapura Municipality, Jayawijaya Regency, and Merauke Regency, and at the end of the simulation year obtained HDI were 83.65; 87.80; 75.88 and 83.56. At the beginning of the simulation year obtained average electricity needs per household were 1,649; 2,810; 2,361 and 2,045 in kWh units respectively in Biak-Numfor Regency, Jayapura Municipality, Jayawijaya Regency, and Merauke Regency. At the end of thesimulation year obtained average electricity needs per household were 2,250; 5,466; 4,340 and 4,360 in kWh units.","PeriodicalId":142523,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ICITEE)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115239795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

WSN is usually located in distant or difficult to reach places, therefore the use of energy is very important and become a big concern. One of the solutions is WSN must be able to generate energy from the renewable energy such as sunlight. There are so many researches which propose the new way of increasing energy produced by solar cells. This is effective but still have a room of improvement such as to ensure maximum absorption energy by solar panels, the direction of the coming light must be perpendicular to the surface solar panels, and this is not yet achieved. Therefore, to improve the efficiency of solar panels, the author took the initiativeto combine Maximum Power Point Tracking technology with dual axis solar tracking system to optimize absorption energy by solar panels. The proposed solar tracking technology uses LDR sensors to detect the direction of the coming light, so this system can adjust to various conditions to make sure the absorption is maximum.","PeriodicalId":142523,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ICITEE)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115445753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The models provide technical recommendation for software developers to make decisions during software maintenance a software evolution. One of the recommendations is user review categorization. There are many categorizations have been popularly used, namely bug errors, feature requests, and noninformative. There are many methods that have been done to classify user reviews. One of the classification methods is Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA). LDA is a topic modelling method which ables to map hidden topics resided in a document. Thus, one of techniques to map hidden topics into categories is calculating term similarity value between hidden topic and the pre-defined signifier term list. However, the limited signifier term list of each category becomes a problem. Meanwhile Term Frequency-Inverse Corpus Frequency (TF-ICF) is able to take important terms on a cluster. Therefore, this paper introduces a method that combines TF-ICF with LDA clustering based on similarity (LDAS TF-ICF) to overcome it. The classification results were calculated by using precision, recall, and F1-score. The results show the method can outperform LDA. The best performance of LDAS TF-ICF occured when 75% expanded term list was used, given the precision, recall, dan f-measure values 0.564, 0.507, and 0.491, respectively.","PeriodicalId":142523,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ICITEE)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129885539","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One such field is the study of Spirulina Algae, which has been an interest to many food technology researchers for many decades. Spirulina Algae is known as one of the best sources of protein, antioxidants, vitamins, and other nutrients. It is often used as the main ingredient in dietary supplements. To produce the best Spirulina Algae, it has to be grown in an alkaline water media with a stable water temperature of around 86° F, controlled intensity of ultra-violet, regulated water turbidity, as well as maintained supply of Oxygen, Nitrogen, and CO2. IoT has become an inevitable choice of technology application for improving high grade food source, assuring food safety, and standardizing the forms of cultivated Spirulina Algae. It uses a microcontroller, such as Arduino, and sensors to create a real-time monitoring system via the internet to monitor water temperature, ultraviolet intensity, and water turbidity. This paper presents an intelligent IoT System, a smart micro farm IoT system to monitor these data. The data collected can also benefit other researchers who wish to observe the life pattern of Spirulina Algae in the given environment. This paper describes the hardware and software components where the system was deployed.","PeriodicalId":142523,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ICITEE)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130833438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This failure could lead to frustration, confusion, and a decrease in the student engagement in learning. Moreover, transferring physical materials to the digital ones could result in boredom because there is no interactivity in the learning process. As a consequence, student engagement in learning decreases. Gamification concept may be used to increase student engagement in learning. This study develops an e-learning system by adding gamification concept. Gamification elements used in this study are leaderboard, activity point, experience point, badge, challenges, leveling, and add friends. The e-learning system is implemented in the Java Programming course. This e-learning is called Code Mania (CoMa). The e-learning is a web-based system that allows the user to interact easily. The e-learning also has an automatic evaluation feature to evaluate student work. The developed learning system is evaluated using whitebox testing that is path testing and blackbox testing.
