The study randomly assigned patients to either a 6-week ‘TCM’ program or usual care. The sample size was <i>n</i> = 70, with each group comprising 35 individuals. Patient outcomes, including self-efficacy, functional status and healthcare service readmission rates, were monitored for TKA patients.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Results</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>Nursing care based on the ‘TCM’ was found to enhance functional status and increase the level of self-efficacy among TKA patients, leading to a decrease in healthcare service readmissions.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Conclusions</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>The study recommends preparing patients and their families for the preoperative and postoperative processes. In Taiwan, caregiver demographics are evolving, with the number of male caregivers increasing. Gender differences influence psychosocial behaviours, thought processes and communication styles. In healthcare, acknowledgement of gender differences facilitates effective delivery of high-quality care.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Aim</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>The aim of this study is to explore male caregivers' decision-making process for palliative care for chronically ill family members.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Methods</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>This study employed grounded theory to generate a substantive theory of male caregivers' decision-making process for palliative care for chronically ill family members. We recruited 22 male participants from three inner-city teaching hospitals in Taiwan.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Findings</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>Regarding the decision-making process of palliative care of chronic ill family, where male caregivers do not want their loved ones suffering anymore, the male caregivers' decision-making process was impacted, first, by caregivers' views on the last stage of life; second, by their wish for good care during the end of life; and third, by their conviction that the patients' wishes should be respected. Furthermore, caregivers' philosophy of life and death is also a supportive ground for decision-making. This philosophy was influenced by their education in palliative care, financial status and religious beliefs and practices. The core category emerging from this study is encapsulated by a participant's assertion, ‘How difficult is it? There are no male and female differences’.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Conclusion</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>We found that palliative care experiences of male caregivers are important for the decision-making process for palliative care for their chronically ill family members. Caregivers want their loved ones to receive good care as the last step in life, to respect their wishes and no more suffering for the patient. In the intervention group (<i>n</i> = 58), a 20-min music therapy with <i>ney</i> sounds was performed, while in the control group (<i>n</i> = 58), routine care practices were applied. <i>Hüseyni</i> maqam of <i>ney</i> was selected, a melodic mode used by Turks for music therapy. Data were collected using the Descriptive Information Form, the Non-Stress Test Evaluation Form, and the State–Trait Anxiety Inventory.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Results</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>After music therapy, the intervention group experienced increased mean acceleration (<i>p</i> = 0.010) and foetal movement rates (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.001) while no such difference was observed in the control group. The state anxiety levels of pregnant women differed significantly between the intervention and control groups (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.001). Participants (<i>N</i> = 61) were selected using convenience sampling and then randomly assigned into experimental and control groups. The experimental group performed 30-min MBI, three times a week for 8 weeks during haemodialysis sessions. The Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale-21 and the Patient Health Questionnaire-15 were used to measure the outcomes at baseline, after 5 weeks of the intervention and at the end of the intervention.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Results</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>Mixed-model repeated-measure ANOVAs revealed that the experimental group showed significantly lower levels of stress, depression and physical symptoms than the control group over time. Within-subject repeated-measure ANOVAs revealed that, in the experimental group, physical symptoms improve significantly over the three points of time. A total of 187 questionnaires were collected, of which 176 were valid, with an effective response rate of 94.1%.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Results</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>Social support and positive coping were positively related to disabled older adults' quality of life, while negative coping was negatively related to both social support and disabled older adults' quality of life. According to the mediating effect analysis after covariate adjustment, positive coping completely mediated the relationship between social support and older adults' quality of life (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.01), with the mediating effect size accounting for 76.9% of the total effect. Negative coping had some mediating effect on the relationship between social support and older adults' quality of life (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.01), with the mediating effect size accounting for 13.0% of the total effect.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Conclusion</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>The quality of life of disabled older adults is low, which is closely related to their social support and coping styles. Evaluating the illness perceptions of stroke patients is of great importance for predicting their health behaviour and rehabilitation outcomes. However, there is no specific tool for assessing illness perceptions in stroke patients in China.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Objectives</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>The objective of this study is to translate the Stroke Illness Perception Questionnaire-Revised (SIPQ-R) into Chinese and to psychometrically test the Chinese version of the scale in the population of Chinese stroke patients.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Methods</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>This was a methodological study. We investigated 593 stroke patients in the neurology department of a hospital in China from March to September 2021. We translated the SIPQ-R and adapted it to the cultural context, after which we evaluated the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of SIPQ-R.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Results</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>Exploratory factor analysis identified eight common factors that accounted for 71.74% of the total variance, and the factor loadings ranged from 0.530 to 0.933. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the eight-factor structure (χ²/df = 1.765, root mean square error of approximation = 0.053, incremental fit index = 0.906, comparative fit index = 0.905 and Tucker–Lewis index = 0.900). Internal consistency was confirmed by a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.982. The test–retest reliability was 0.762. The results showed good content validity (the scale level content validity index was 0.940, and the item level content validity index values ranged from 0.860 to 0.960). There were no missing responses and floor or ceiling effects. Ten databases were systematically searched for all available articles from construction to November 2023. Two researchers independently conducted literature screening, data extraction and quality evaluation. Cochrane Review Manager 5.3 was used for meta-analysis.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Results</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>Finally, 27 RCT studies including 2814 patients with head and neck cancer were included. Five categories of interventions were used: nutritional support, exercise, swallowing function training, psychological intervention and low-level laser therapy. Nonpharmacological interventions can improve body weight loss in patients with HNC at the end of treatment (MD: 1.66 kg; 95% CI: 0.80 to 2.51), and subgroup analysis showed that nutritional support, psychological intervention and low-level laser therapy were effective. A total of 132 preterm infants were randomly assigned to four groups as white noise group (<i>n</i> = 33), swaddling group (<i>n</i> = 33), white noise + swaddling group (<i>n</i> = 33) and control group (<i>n</i> = 33). Interventions were initiated 5 min before the orogastric tube insertion procedure and continued during and up to 5 min after the procedure.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Results</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>White noise intervention alone did not have a significant effect on reducing pain associated with orogastric tube insertion (<i>p</i> &gt; 0.05). Thus, academic advising and counselling help support students with academic and mental health problems.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Design</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>This cross-sectional study utilized online questionnaires in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Methods</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-4) and the Student Academic Advising and Counseling Survey (SAACS) were utilized to measure social support, depression and anxiety and evaluation of academic advising and counselling services, respectively.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Results</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>The study included 1134 nursing students (mean age of 20.3 years). Students with higher academic advising satisfaction were 37% less likely to experience depression (OR 0.63, 95% CI 0.46–0.85) and mental disorders (OR 0.68, 95% CI 0.50–0.94). Moderate family social support was associated with lower depression (OR 0.58, 95% CI 0.37–0.93) and mental disorders (OR 0.55, 95% CI 0.33–0.92).</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Conclusion</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>Academic advising and social support can mitigate mental health disorders among nursing students. The interviews were analysed using Husserl's phenomenology and the Colaizzi method of data analysis.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Results</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>Two major themes and six sub-themes were identified from exploring the patients experience.
