In recent time, it is often presented as a major problem that is seen to undermine the social-economic development of Nigeria ditto Ondo State. In 2021, the unemployment rate in the country was put at 33% the highest in 13 years. From the figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), about 21, 765, 614 Nigerians are jobless within the age group of young people who are between 15-34 years. In comparison to other 181 countries of the world with up-to-date labour data, Nigeria ranks the 41st country with highest unemployment rate. This study assessed the magnitude and dimension of unemployment and its implications on socio-economic development of ondo state referencing unemployed youth in selected communities in Akure South local government area. Several methods were adopted by this study to elicit information; Primary sources of generating data through administration of questionnaires and interviews while secondary sources involve data from journals, articles and internet materials. The study adopted triangulation mixed research methodologies for data collection. Analysis of quantitative data was done using descriptive statistics (sample frequency tables, percentages and numbers.) while qualitative data were analyzed separately. Questionnaires were administered to 350 respondents and 16 interviewees between the ages of 18-35 years through multistage sampling technique. The study relied on Keynesian and Marxist theories as theoretical fulcrum to discuss the multi- dimensional situation of unemployment in Nigeria .The findings from the study revealed that corruption, neglect of Agricultural sector ,infrastructural decay , Bad Leadership and bad governance, unfavourable government reforms and policies, unfavourable terms and conditions for jobs recruitments, ineffective education system, insecurity are among major factors contributing to the rising unemployment in Akure south local government area of Ondo state. The findings also revealed socio-economic implications of youth unemployment to include; poverty, criminalities, insecurity, substance, addiction, psychological effects, health issues, brain drain, dysfunctional social and emotional relationship among others. The study concluded that there are many deleterious socio-economic implications associated with youth unemployment in Akure south local government area of Ondo state.Against this backdrop, the study recommended strong anti-corruption crusades by governments at all levels, infrastructural development, diversification of economic, bail-out funds for ailing industries, enthronement of good leadership and good governance, introduction of Entrepreneurial trainings as part of school academic system and aggressive fight against insecurity as panacea that will checkmate the unemployment scourge.","PeriodicalId":141784,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Social Development and Entrepreneurship","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129567024","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data for the study were obtained from secondary sources and analysed using Eview9 statistical package namely: ADF Unit Root Test, Panel Cointegration test; Bayesian Error Correction Model, Panel OLS among others. Data for the work were drawn with purposive sampling techniques from samples of 72 observations Nigeria stock exchange statistical Bulletins. The R-square (Coefficient of Determination) shows an explanation of Pre IFRS (0.280213) and Post IFRS (0.440826) percent of the employed model, i.e. Pre IFRS=28%; Post IFRS 44% and of the variance of the criterion variable is explained by the predictor variable. Which shows how well-fitted the regression is based on the unique theoretical combinations of variables. The Durbin-Watson being a test for auto/serial correlation shows an output of Post IFRS is 1.434594, while Pre IFRS is 1.428219 which signifies the absence of a serial or autocorrelation of the residual (error term) and appears to be within the relevant range. The F-statistics testing the overall hypothesis of the slope coefficient displays a very significant long run relationship based on the statistic output of Post IFRS (6.109727); Pre IFRS (0.004044) at a probability level of Post IFRS (0.000957); Pre IFRS (6.423459) which is less than the critical value of 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05). Therefore, overall we reject null hypothesis and alternate that there is significant (short-run and long-run) relationship between employed variables but in favour with Post IFRS adoption on entrepreneurial intentions. We therefore recommend among others that entrepreneurial intention should focus to boost the long term benefits of all total asset, current asset, non-current asset and profitability index in line with IFRS value relevance reporting accounting techniques.","PeriodicalId":141784,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Social Development and Entrepreneurship","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131515356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data for the study were obtained from secondary sources and analysed using graphical and table presentation on Eview9 statistical package. Data for the work were drawn from samples of 72 observations Nigeria stock exchange statistical Bulletins. The descriptive statistics revealed high benefits of the Post instead of the Pre IFRS adoption which favours entrepreneurship entry and elimination entrepreneurship exist. Therefore, overall the relevance of reporting method using IFRS is credible in short-run and long-run relationship between employed variables favours the Post IFRS adoption on entrepreneurial entry, while discouraging entrepreneurial exit. Thus, there are correlations between the variables to predict the future trend on entrepreneurship entry in the long-run and short-run. In conclusion, it can be notices that with the non-current asset, current asset, total asset performed well, most especially the profit after tax in the mean descriptive statistics on post IFRS adoption. It is therefore recommended that quoted enterprise should put in place a system that would allow the enterprise prto epare its detailed annual financial statements to boost sustainability in the entrepreneurship entry. This will enables the reduction of entrepreneurship existing on enterprise winding up and closure by practicing IFRS adoptions in macro and micro enterprises.","PeriodicalId":141784,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Social Development and Entrepreneurship","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133909365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Studies have found out that administrators are very much prone to stress. In line with this, as the traffic police personnel have been entrusted with administering and managing smooth functioning of road transport, it is significant that a study in this regard should be carried out. The study has covered 35 traffic police personnel working as ‘Constables’ and finding their prime cause of stress has been the objective of the study. For the purpose of collecting the data Operational Police Stress Questionnaire developed by McCreary and Thompson (2006) has been opted for. It shows that the study group is highly stressed as the scores are far above the cut off line. It is worth mentioning that the organization does not have any particular way (institutional arrangement) to deal with stress and related issues.","PeriodicalId":141784,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Social Development and Entrepreneurship","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117151051","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nueva Ecija, being the main area of intervention of the Philippine Carabao Center, has been well-supported for its buffalo-based dairy enterprises. Empirical studies assessing the well-being of families engaged in dairying in the province, however, were not much explored; hence this study.Data were gathered through face-to-face interview with 170 dairy buffalo entrepreneurs using a survey questionnaire. Personal well-being index (PWI) was measured in terms of the core set of items forming the PWI comprising seven questions on satisfaction with specific life domains. The satisfaction scores from all domains are simply summed up to produce a mean satisfaction value, known as the PWI score, to represent subjective well-being (SWB). The following guidelines for the interpretation of the PWI scores were used: 70+ points = ‘Normal’: A person is likely to be experiencing a normal level of well-being. 51-69 points = ‘Challenged’: Personal well- being is likely to be challenged/compromised. The PWI of the dairy buffalo entrepreneurs was found to be within the normative range of population, which means that they are generally experiencing a normal level of well-being. Findings further showed that while the entrepreneurs were simultaneously engaged in dairying and other sources of household income, such as non-dairy farm, off-farm and non-farm, they are satisfied with farm work and even managed to enjoy various leisure activities.","PeriodicalId":141784,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Social Development and Entrepreneurship","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128141079","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
