Due to new secondary cells, its technology can become an alternative for energy storage. Since these applications require a big amount of storable energy, the oxygen consumption has to be taken into account. This article determines the oxygen consumption of zinc-air batteries during discharging. Furthermore the performance of zinc-air batteries at low oxygen concentrations is analyzed. Both aspects are validated by practical experiments.","PeriodicalId":140384,"journal":{"name":"2018 16th Biennial Baltic Electronics Conference (BEC)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127155200","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So far, we have shown that the bioimpedance method is a prospective tool for assessment of wound healing by monitoring the healing of both acute wounds and venous ulcers at discrete time points. The objective of this study was to demonstrate that the method is capable for monitoring wound healing also long-term while the wound is covered by the primary dressings. For this purpose we arranged a follow-up study of a single acute wound. The purpose-built multi-electrode dressing was applied on the wound and left under the primary dressings until the complete re-epithelization was achieved. The bioimpedance of the wound and surrounding skin area was measured regularly during a 120 hours study. Based on the results, we can confirm that the method applies for long-term monitoring of acute wound healing without necessity to remove the primary dressings.","PeriodicalId":140384,"journal":{"name":"2018 16th Biennial Baltic Electronics Conference (BEC)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114525616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper introduces a new term of conditional fault collapsing, and identifies the conditionally collapsed faults, produced as the result of transforming SSBDDs into S3BDDs. The necessary and sufficient conditions, to be satisfied by test patterns, are developed to guarantee that the collapsed faults are detected without special targeting them. Experiments demonstrate better results for structural fault collapsing compared to state-of-the-art.","PeriodicalId":140384,"journal":{"name":"2018 16th Biennial Baltic Electronics Conference (BEC)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123889766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to previous studies, alterations in the amplitudes of the second derivative photoplethysmographic (SDPPG) signal distinctive wave peaks 'a', 'b', 'c', 'd', and 'e' can be related through the regression models to the cardiovascular age of the subject. However, it is not known, if these models are applicable bilaterally and how the SDPPG signal amplitudes are influenced by the measurement location. This study focuses on amplitude differences in the SDPPG signal distinctive wave peaks between the left and the right hand fingers. The study was conducted on 30 subjects who had no disease diagnosed. The photoplethysmographic (PPG) signal was registered from the left and right hand fingers using 8 channel analog front-end and identical finger-clip PPG sensors for the synchronous registration of the signals. The amplitudes of the SDPPG signal distinctive wave peaks were detected from each period of the recorded PPG signals. It was found that the normalized amplitudes b/a from the left hand fingers were significantly higher $(P lt 0.03)$ and c/a were significantly lower than those of the right hand fingers. In conclusion, the regression models for cardiovascular age estimation are bilaterally inapplicable at normalized amplitudes b/a and c/a. Further studies have to address the causes of the bilateral differences.","PeriodicalId":140384,"journal":{"name":"2018 16th Biennial Baltic Electronics Conference (BEC)","volume":"226 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121126921","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to radiowave propagation effects like fading and shadowing, spectrum sensing is often complicated, because the PU signal can be attenuated in a particular area. In this paper, we explore a distributed spectrum sensing approach that exploits the largest eigenvalue of correlation matrices (CMs) that are adaptively estimated, based on the combine and adapt least (CTA) type of diffusion method with no fusion center (FC). More specifically, CR nodes exchange also observations with a subset of neighbouring nodes and combine the neighbouring observations based on the locally estimated signal to noise ratio (SNR) values. We analyse the resulting detection performance and verify the theoretical findings through simulations.","PeriodicalId":140384,"journal":{"name":"2018 16th Biennial Baltic Electronics Conference (BEC)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127468796","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As an example, we focus on the behavioral, reliability and security views of the system design. For high level verification the key properties of MPSoC routing mechanism are explicitly specified and the implementation details abstracted away. The case study on an open-source MPSoC platform demonstrates that the view contracts represented as Uppaal Timed Automata can be specified and verified separately from each other provided they are non-interfering. This allows conjoining the view contracts for complete design contract without breaking the correctness of individual view contracts and avoid extensive verification of whole system design at once.","PeriodicalId":140384,"journal":{"name":"2018 16th Biennial Baltic Electronics Conference (BEC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131188645","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Results showed that for a marginal performance loss, power reduction of 3,5x is possible by downscaling voltage and frequency, while downscaling only voltage leads to power reduction of up to 65%. They further showed that voltage regulators may actually lead to increased power consumption in some cases if care is not taken.
