The respondents in this study were 349 Central Java employees that were gathered by voluntary sampling. The measuring instrument used in this study was Fisher Work-life Balance Scale adapted by Gunawan, et al. (2019) with Crobach’s alpha coefficient of 0,877 and the Quality of life scale translated into Indonesian by the researcher herself based on the theory Flanagan Quality of Life (1978) with 0,850 of Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. From the Spearman Rho data analysis, the result showed (r = 0,281 ; p < 0,05) there is a correlation between work-life balance and the quality of life of Central Java employees during the COVID-19, so the hypothesis in this study is able to be accepted.","PeriodicalId":140340,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Counseling and Psychotherapy","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114976688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sustained work stress on Civil Servants can result in burnout or boredom at work for the employee. One of the factors that influence the occurrence of burnout is social support. Therefore this study will examine the relationship between social support from colleagues and superiors and burnout in the Civil Servants in two Salatiga city government agencies. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Participants in this study were all Civil Servants in two Salatiga City Government agencies, totaling 150 employees. The sampling technique used in this research is the saturation sampling technique. This research instrument uses a scale of social support and burnout scale. This data analysis uses the Rank Spearman correlation test. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant negative relationship between social support and burnout in civil servants in two Salatiga City Government agencies. This can be seen from the Rank Spearman correlation value of -0.412 with a Sig. (1-tailed) of 0.000 Sig. (1-tailed) of 0.05. The results of this study indicate that the higher the social support, the lower the level of burnout in the Civil Servants in the two Salatiga City Governments. Conversely, the lower the level of social support for the Civil Servants in the two Salatiga City Government agencies, the higher the burnout rate.","PeriodicalId":140340,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Counseling and Psychotherapy","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116202474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adopted in several countries, including Portugal, South Korea, Italy, and France, the present study aims to adapt the MHC-SF for the Indonesian context and assess its psychometric properties. The adaptation followed the ITC Guidelines for Adapting Tests, an international standard for adapting and psychometrically testing measuring instruments. The content validity was evaluated through the involvement of three experts and four reviewers in assessing the results of the Indonesian translation. Data was collected from a sample of 256 students, who participated by filling out an online questionnaire. The results of the content validity indicated that the 14-item instrument was relevant to the purpose of measuring well-being. Construct validity showed a three-factor structure (emotional well-being, psychological well-being, and social well-being) with a fit model, and all items had a factor loading value greater than .5, indicating their validity. The reliability test revealed consistent results with alpha coefficient values in the range of .7 to .8 for the three dimensions, demonstrating that the instrument can provide consistent results when used on the same individual in different situations. This study concludes that the Indonesian version of the MHC-SF is valid and reliable for assessing an individual's well-being.","PeriodicalId":140340,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Counseling and Psychotherapy","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128946023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These experiences often bring out negative emotions, particularly for first-time mothers. If these negative emotions are not managed properly, they can worsen their conditions. This study aimed to gain an overview of the experience of regulating emotions during the postpartum period for primiparous mothers. The study used a qualitative approach through a case study method. In-depth interviews were conducted with three participants, who had given birth to their first child within the past six months, to gather data. The results of the data analysis, using thematic analysis, revealed four themes: Strategies for handling situations, strategies to shift attention, strategies for cognitive change, and strategies to change responses. The mothers reported feeling better after using strategies that allowed them to modify situations, appraise them positively, and express emotions rather than avoiding or suppressing them. The results of this study enhance our understanding of the experience of emotion regulation in primiparous mothers. Hence, mothers can benefit from these strategies for regulating emotions. Partners, parents, and counseling professionals around the mothers can encourage the use of these strategies to process negative emotions effectively.","PeriodicalId":140340,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Counseling and Psychotherapy","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116551259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Loneliness is a prevalent mental health problem among students during the pandemic. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of e-journaling intervention in reducing loneliness among undergraduate students. A pre-experimental design was used, with 38 undergraduate students participating in writing activities in the form of journaling every weekday for two weeks. Pre and post-tests were given using the De Jong Giervield Loneliness Scale to evaluate loneliness. The results of a Wilcoxon signed-rank test showed no significant difference in loneliness before and after the intervention, with only 40% of participants showing a decrease in loneliness. This suggests that e-journaling intervention is not an effective way to reduce student loneliness during the pandemic. A randomized controlled study is recommended for further exploration of the efficacy of e-journaling intervention.","PeriodicalId":140340,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Counseling and Psychotherapy","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116773323","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
