The proposed control technology is composed of a Fast Sliding Mode Control (FSMC) and a Glowworm Swarm Optimization (GSO). Although the FSMC guarantees finite system-state convergence time of the UPS, the distorted and unstable UPS output-voltage degrades the unreliability of MA. This is because the inappropriate control parameters exist in UPS system. The GSO is thus employed to tune FSMC control gains optimally, yielding high performance UPS in the use of the MA. Experimental results show that the proposed control technology can lead to high-quality AC output voltage and fast dynamic response. Numerical calculations clarify dynamic properties of the environmental variables, such as temperature and relative humidity at each sampling point in the present method for several realistic cases in severe summer season. The CEED problem considers the environmental impacts from the gaseous emission of pollutants at fossil-fueled power generating plants. This paper presents the formulation of the CEED problem as a multi-objective problem which in turn has been converted into a single objective function considering price penalty factor. This article proposes a new optimization algorithm, Modified Jaya Optimization Algorithm (MJOA), for CEED problem solution. The existing Jaya Optimization Algorithm (JOA) has been slightly modified to formulate the MJOA for faster convergence and robustness. Later the modified algorithm has been implemented in two test systems to investigate and ensure the effectiveness. This study presents CalinskiHarabasz criterion method to find out K value in order to divide ELD of Bangkhen water treatment plant (BKP), the largest water treatment plant in Thailand and South-East Asia, as a case study into K groups. ELD of BKP recorded in twelve months is shown and analyzed by this method. Three seasons are done, too. Then, K-means clustering algorithm is applied to find the centroid value, the cluster center, of K group. The maximum cluster center is used to be the source limit to supply electricity to the plant. Moreover, this study evaluates reliability indices to find out the security of the plant from using the source limit. The proposed methodology optimizes the capacity of DGs and the optimal feeder line capacity simultaneously by a cost/benefit analysis. Besides, the line loss in distribution network is explicitly analyzed by using four different methods in the paper. For simplicity, the line loss can be appropriately simplified as a quadratic function of difference of voltage phase angle. Then it is further linearized by using different linearization strategies and then compared with the results by using Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming (MINLP) method. This paper focuses on the natural sunlight saving system named solar concentrator layout. In our paper, we aim to bring the optimal profit for the firm when implementing the solar layout as well as helping a house get as much sunlight efficiency as possible for their using. We also consider some factors such as light reflection and light transmission loss to make the model more reliable. As for the economic scale, some constraints are added to make our study close to reality, such as the thickness of concentrator or the number of exits where a sunbeam is delivered to the main panel to enable energy transmission. To obtain a high brightness for the house, the firm would harm their profit. This study makes the balance between the conflict objectives to get a compromised solution. Finally, parallelcomputing based genetic algorithm is introduced to accelerate the solution quality. Some government’s RE project just run for short-time period and then technically malfunctioned [1]. The main reason was a lack of local people’s knowledge on RES and the absence of capability of local community in maintenance aspect. This paper presents an example of RE project in Banyumeneng Village namely Solar Water Pumping System (SWPS) which continuously runs over 7 years. By having a comprehensive knowledge transfer and adequate education program to the local people, the sustainability in this RE project can be achieved. This paper presents, its evaluation is done by using SWOT analysis to measure on effectiveness of knowledge transfers in this capacity building programme.
