After building a particular system, the hardware and face detection algorithm are constants. As a result, the image resolution becomes the tool to adjust the accuracy. However, the image resolution impacts the performance of such systems. Especially, in real-time systems, detection delay can degrade the overall performance drastically. If the resolution is reduced, the system responses faster. However, the accuracy of the detection degrades. On the other hand, if the resolution increases, the accuracy increases but the performance degrades. Trial and error basis approach is an intuitive solution to gain optimum performance and accuracy. However, it is a tedious method and does not exploit all of the possibilities. In this paper, a mathematical model has been derived from experimental data using curve fitting method for performance-accuracy optimization of face detection in human machine interaction.","PeriodicalId":138634,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131523496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Geothermal energy is a form of renewable energy that can be effectively used for electric power generation. Besides, geothermal power provides considerable advantages compared to other renewable resources such as solar and wind power. Geothermal energy provides reliable, stable and efficient power compared to the lack of inertia, lack of efficiency and the intermittent nature of solar and wind resources. Moreover, geothermal power plants must be integrated with energy storage devices to improve the stability and flexibility of the power system. Gravity-fed energy storage and flywheel energy storage systems are two reliable technologies that can be integrated with geothermal power for improved stability and flexibility. Furthermore, the disadvantages of geothermal energy such as higher initial cost and geographic dependency can be compensated using recent research and developments in the geothermal technology. These recent developments include enhanced geothermal systems, small-scale geothermal power generation and geothermal power generation using abandoned oil and gas wells. The sources from which electricity is generated need fossil fuels but fossil fuels are decreasing worldwide. Again, burning of these fossil fuels pollutes the environment. So, many researchers have continued their researching about how electricity can be produced easily and environment-friendly. This idea leads many researchers to renewable energy. In this paper, we have worked to minimize the obstacle of generating electric power in train by using renewable resources. A locomotive train or an electric train need substantial electric power to drive the train and other electrical devices. We have proposed a solar- wind hybrid system to produce electricity to charge the battery for electric light loads only of a train. By introducing the hybrid generation system in the train, the electrical power needed to drive the electric light loads can be mitigated. Again, the obstacles of cost for producing electricity can also be easily minimized. In this work, we used solar energy, wind energy to generate electricity, which made this system more economical and environment-friendly.","PeriodicalId":138634,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124551964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

EBs use batteries and travel in short distance. The batteries of easy bikes must be charged which requires charging stations usually for long distance travelled. Charging stations for EBs and sustainable electricity are big challenges for our government at the present time. This paper introduces a modern commercial charging station for EBs that takes almost energy from renewable energy sources which include photovoltaic (PV) power generation system and energy storage system. An emergency grid back-up system is also implemented to face uncertain situations. Reflex charging method is used instead of conventional charging method to reduce charging duration and ensure safe charging. An intelligent energy management system and smart prepaid meter will make this charging station more effective.","PeriodicalId":138634,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127707683","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, channel modeling is still difficult for its high weather dependency and antenna positioning for line-of-sight (LOS) communication. Co-polarization and cross polarization(X-pol) are two main incidents of radiation pattern direction for transmitting wave; where the desired direction of transmitting wave indicates co-pol and orthogonal propagation of the desired direction represents X-pol. This paper presents an extensive analysis of polarization impact on a statistical channel modeling for two definite front-runners of mmWave bands (28 GHz & 73 GHz) by a novel simulator NYUSIM. We simulate a realistic urban microcell scenario using the 3-D statistical spatial channel model (SSCM) that is adopted by time cluster and spatial beam approach. In this study, an automated model is proposed to classify skin diseases for dermoscopic images using texture analysis. There are some challenges for automating the classification of skin lesions such as existence of hair in the lesion, dark and highlight regions in dermoscopic image and different types of skin tone. In this study, these challenges are addressed with class imbalance issue, an internecine and common problem of skin disease image datasets. By combining different techniques or algorithms an effective approach is introduced to allay those challenges. The performance of the proposed approach is tested for two dermatological skin conditions viz. Solar Lentigo, Lentigo Simplex using k-th nearest neighbor (kNN) and support vector machine (SVM) as classifier.","PeriodicalId":138634,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"147 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128962876","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Researchers are taking initiatives to support dense traffic with higher demand of data rate as well as high mobility. However, several challenges for 5G mmWave channel still exist as HSR faces fading variation and attenuation due to fast switching between different environments of railway networks. A realistic railway communication can introduce several unique scenarios which have different impact on communication channels. The novelty of this work is to investigate several power delay profile (PDP) characteristics, e.g., RMS delay spread, received power, path loss, SNR, and KFactor for three realistic HSR scenarios at different mmWave bands. Simulation results demonstrate the potential of mmWave channels and its suitability in future 5G railway communication.","PeriodicalId":138634,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128669437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Up to now, skin biopsy is the most reliable way of diagnosing melanoma. To avoid this invasive and costly biopsy, melanoma detection from dermoscopy images has been introduced for last few decades. But it is very challenging due to low interclass variance between melanoma and non-melanoma images, and high intraclass variance in melanoma images. A new approach for diagnosing melanoma skin cancer from dermoscopy images based on fundamental ABCD (Asymmetry, Border, Color, and Diameter) rule associated with shape, size and color properties of the images is presented in this paper. Two new features related to area and perimeter of the lesion image are proposed in this paper along with the other existing features which are distinguishing between melanoma and benign images. Dull razor algorithm is applied for black hair removal from the input images and Chan-Vese method is employed for segmentation. The extracted features are applied to an ANN model for training and finally detecting melanoma images from the input images. 98% overall accuracy is achieved in this approach. This promising result would be able to assist dermatologist for making decision clinically.","PeriodicalId":138634,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115611145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Still, people are following that same old manual and anachronous system in cloth management which requires a considerable amount of their time and effort. Finding clothes is agonizing, arduous and can be time-consuming. An automated system for keeping track of garments using a simple mobile application can help people to a great extent in this regard. In our work, we have proposed an automated smart wardrobe model which will be able to keep track of the location of clothes inside the wardrobe using image processing. Other than that, the mobile application will also be able to keep track of clothes that are in laundry or have been recently worn or have been washed or ironed.
