To validate the proposal, simulation was made to confirm that this new way of processing has no major impact on router performances while calculating routes and dispatching messages.","PeriodicalId":138330,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Next Generation Networks and Services (NGNS)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133660405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the emerging of the Cloud Computing (CC), things become more critical. Indeed, CC aims to provide unlimited ΓΓ resources as pay-per-use services and due to its distributed and elastic nature, monitoring solutions need to be also distributed, scalable, high performance and modular. Not to mention that CC generates a high amount of data, their processing needs to be efficient without affecting the performance of the entire Cloud. This paper will discuss a proposed monitoring architecture for Cloud infrastructures that provides RESTful API for each component and interacts with various Cloud Managers (CM) (such as OpenStack, CloudStack, Eucalyptus etc.) and other monitoring solutions such as Nagios, Icinga etc. to gather additional information about the infrastructure (new added hosts, VMs etc.). This architecture will also provide a data-mining component using the parallel computing model MapReduce to provide metrics for billing purpose, and data correlation to avoid future performance or availability problems.","PeriodicalId":138330,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Next Generation Networks and Services (NGNS)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132557115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There have been many approaches to develop specialized procedures and techniques, aimed at assuring the highest level of knowledge quality. The method proposed in this paper is based on a corporate memory building. This memory can capitalize just knowledge evaluated using a different criteria. This method is profound enough to be able to evaluate knowledge to be preserved and that crucial knowledge reduce substantially the capitalization cost since they reduce the number of knowledge to process. Hence, update and transfer operations are much simplified.","PeriodicalId":138330,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Next Generation Networks and Services (NGNS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132603028","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several applications that require continuous streaming playback are suffering from the existing media systems. In order to serve streaming media traffic, which is sensitive to timely data transmission, proxy servers have been incorporated into the network. This paper addresses some critical issues and challenges of cache management for proxy caching media streaming. In the first part of the paper, we present a cache management method suitable when clients watch the requested videos completely. Subsequently we introduce methods supporting partial video view assuming that most accesses are for a few popular videos, and that videos are likely to be watched only partially. Our event-driven simulations have shown that the cache admissions policies we have introduced (i) improve the byte-hit ratio and (ii) significantly reduce the fraction of user requests with delayed starts, compared to existing methods in the literature.","PeriodicalId":138330,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Next Generation Networks and Services (NGNS)","volume":"41 15","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113936079","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By consequence, we can create paths in the network by using multiple management rules, but in Ad-Hoc network nodes this work must be done in an autonomous way. For that there are three types of routing protocol proactive, reactive and hybrid. The first one continuously calculates the possible paths to be available at the time of transmission. The second one creates the roads only when they are needed. And the last one is a combination between the two methods. In this study we will focus on three routing protocols AODV, OLSR and ZRP; and compare their performance in terms of loss packets and energy efficient.","PeriodicalId":138330,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Next Generation Networks and Services (NGNS)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121373168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective is to estimate their capacity to better manage traffic and ensure good quality of service QoS. The capacity of a WMN is one of the most important characteristics; it reflects the load of traffic it can flow to a destination. The development of this metric will be the basis for solving problems such as fairness and media access. We have performed research concerning the nature of the goodput in the face of several parameters and on two types of wireless mesh networks: networks adopting the mechanism of the broadcast control messages and networks without flood control. The objective of this work is to derive the optimal values of inter-departure/size pair of packets that match a maximum goodput.","PeriodicalId":138330,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Next Generation Networks and Services (NGNS)","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129062610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
