The proposed controller structures are dedicated to a low order plant, which is specific to the field of servo-systems. The design relations are based on the fact that, in some certain conditions, fuzzy controllers and linear development methods are applicable for this situation. The presentation points out that the proposed 2-DOF fuzzy controllers can be applied in robot control and ensure good control system performance with respect to reference input and disturbance actions.","PeriodicalId":138224,"journal":{"name":"2007 4th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131287865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The development is determined by the four participants (\"components\") of these systems, namely by the human beings, vehicles, infrastructure and regulations. The principal element of the process is man with his demands for mobility and transportation. These demands can be satisfied by manufacturers who produce the desired vehicles. The response time of manufacturers is much shorter than the development of infrastructure; however, the later is also essential in order to serve transportation processes. The low flexibility of infrastructure is partly caused by the huge amount of necessary investment, and also by the complex ownership relations. The last element that usually appears with delay compared to the other three is the regulation system (laws, standards, specifications etc.), and it also expresses the needs of the society as long as the development - motivated by social demands - sometimes conflicts with other needs, i.e. the needs for safety or for the protection of environment. This contradiction finally closes the \"control loop\", and actuates the evolution of transportation systems.","PeriodicalId":138224,"journal":{"name":"2007 4th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127711552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This new age of engineering is a result of the continuous development for step-by-step moving of product design, analysis and other production engineering activities from conventional environments to modeling environments during the eighties and nineties. However, more developments were needed in knowledge based decision assistance in order to realize modeling of human intent, increasingly complex product structures, and efficient communication of product data. In recent years, a great change of engineering methodology and software produced program products in knowledge technology and advanced local and global communication. Group work of engineers is increasingly organized around special portals for engineering on the Internet. Although intensive research activities produced outstanding methods in knowledge-based solutions for engineering, these methods have not widespread in the industrial modeling practice. This paper attempts to evaluate the possibility that recent communication and knowledge intensive engineering modeling can be developed into communication and knowledge intensive virtual space technology. Paper starts with a discussion on integrated application of different groups of product modeling techniques. Following this, methods are evaluated for the management of product data (PDM). Next section emphasizes aspects, contexts, and intents as primary issues in modeling for relationships in product data and decisions by engineers. Finally, methods for the management of engineering activities for lifecycle of products are summarized, considering communities of engineers around Internet portals.","PeriodicalId":138224,"journal":{"name":"2007 4th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128042967","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper a hybrid electric vehicle is considered, which contains both an internal combustion engine and an EM. Without focusing on the other components of the vehicle, the EM is treated in detail, both regarding modelling aspects and control solutions. After a brief modelling of the plant, two cascade speed control solutions are presented: first a classical PI+PI cascade control solution is presented. Then a correction term is introduced as a PI + a non-homogenous structured PI controller solution. The controllers are developed using the Modulus-Optimum method for the inner loop, and the extended symmetrical optimum method, corrected based on the 2p-SO-method, for the outer loop (for a more efficient disturbance rejection). Simulations were performed using numerical values taken from a real application consisting in a hybrid vehicle prototype, showing satisfactory behaviour.","PeriodicalId":138224,"journal":{"name":"2007 4th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130928390","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The communication feature of a smart sensor is compulsory. It must communicate vertically and horizontally too. The vertically communication is down with the process it senses and up with a processing and decision system. The horizontally communication is with other smart sensors. There are several ways for communicating: with direct physical connections, wireless, by Internet or combined. This paper describes an Internet connected smart sensor. The sensed parameter is the temperature but it can be applied to other parameters too. The Web connected smart sensor is made by a TINI platform, a LM75A temperature sensor and the appropriate software.
