We propose a new tensor-based approach to detect epileptic spikes in EEG data. Nonnegative Tucker decomposition was applied to analyze multi-domain features of EEG epileptic and non-epileptic spikes. An EEG feature extraction method was proposed, based on estimating the so-called “eigenspikes.” The Fisher score was employed for feature selection. KNN and NB classifiers were used on the extracted features to separate epileptic spikes from non- epileptic spikes, and classification results were compared with those of the Phan-Cichoki method. Experimental results showed that our proposed method is efficient in detecting epileptic spikes.","PeriodicalId":137666,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th NAFOSTED Conference on Information and Computer Science (NICS)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121128412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The expected advance of NOMA system is the improvement of possible spectrum when compared with the classical orthogonal multiple access (OMA). Interleave division multiple access (IDMA) is a very low code rate NOMA scheme which has been used as a new version of the third generation (3G) wideband CDMA system in recent years. Moreover, it can be a promised candidate for potential use in the fifth generation (5G) because it explores the possibility to share frequency, time resources and spreading codes. In this paper, we evaluate the effect of non-Gaussian noise to the IDMA system with multiple access channel. In particular, the bit error rate (BER) will be used to compare the performance of different simulation scenarios.","PeriodicalId":137666,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th NAFOSTED Conference on Information and Computer Science (NICS)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123458227","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because, it provides an important input for the remaining modules of the framework. In this paper, we propose an efficient multiple objects detection and tracking system for mobile service robots in dynamic social environments using deep learning techniques. The proposed system consists of two steps: (1) multiple objects detection, and (2) multiple objects tracking. In the first step, the RGB image-based multiple objects detection is made use of to detect objects in the mobile robot's vicinity using a convolutional neural network. In the second stage of system, the detected objects are tracked using a deep simple online and realtime tracking technique. The experimental results indicate that, the proposed system is capable of detecting and tracking multiple objects including humans, providing significant information for the socially aware mobile robot navigation framework.","PeriodicalId":137666,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th NAFOSTED Conference on Information and Computer Science (NICS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114893790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the denoising problem, it is necessary to create automatic image processing methods based on parameters estimation of the corresponding models. For TV image denoising problem, almost methods focus on TV-L2 norm. The works for parameter estimation of denoising model based on TV-L1 norm is very little. The denoising model with TV-L1 norm is impressive to treat the salt-and-pepper noise. In this paper, we propose a parameter estimation method based on characteristics of the salt-and-pepper noise. This method is especially effective for the images without very high contrast and with high noise level. We will handle the comparison to other salt-and-pepper denoising methods, such as TV-L1 method and the BPDF method to prove the effectiveness of the proposed parameter estimation method for the adaptive TVL1 denoising model.","PeriodicalId":137666,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th NAFOSTED Conference on Information and Computer Science (NICS)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130336306","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objects are flat, unique color and occluded each other inside a bin. The whole picking process is divided into two stages. At 3D localization stage, an estimation process using 3D data segment by Euclidean algorithm and calculating surface normal are proposed to estimate angle and position of an object. To reduce the burden time of 3D pose estimation, a voxel grid filter is implemented to reduce the number of points for the 3D cloud of the objects. As known the 3D image in bin often involves both heavy noise and edge distortions, so to prepare for the assembly a 5DOF robot will pick and place it in 2D table then an 2D camera is used to estimate the pose of the object correctly. To prove the efficiency of proposed system that can pick up all objects in the bin a series of experiments on a 6-axis robot are implemented.","PeriodicalId":137666,"journal":{"name":"2018 5th NAFOSTED Conference on Information and Computer Science (NICS)","volume":"184 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121971006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
