This can be found on soils with good air conditioning, has a solid aggregate, good water holding ability and room for sufficient rooting. Proper use of media will provide optimal growth for the plants. This study aims to determine the best planting medium to support the growth of coffe seedling Liberika Tungkal Komposit. The research was conducted in the experimental garden Pijoan, University Batanghari Jambi. From March to May 2017. The research design in this experiment was planting medium with complete randomized environmental design (RAL). The treatment is : M0 = plant medium 100% peat soil, M1 = plant medium 100% ultisol soil, M2 = planting medium 50% untisol soil + 50% rice husk charcoal, M3 = planting medium 50% ultisol soil + 50% cocopeat, M4 = planting medium 50% ultisol soil + 50% river sand, M5 = planting medium 50% peat soil + 50% rice husk charcoal, M6 = planting medium 50% peat soil + 50% cocopeat, M7 = planting medium 50% peat soil + 50% river sand. Parameter observed were plant height, stem diameter, root length, crown dry weight, root dry weight, root canopy ratio, total dry weight, quality index, initial pH media and final pH media. The result showed that the ultisol 100% ultisol garden media gave the heighes seed growth value based on single parameter ie plant height, stem diameter, root lenght, crown dry weight, root dry weight, root canopy ratio, total dry weight, and initial media pH and treatment integrated quality index that indicates that the seed is most ready to be moved to the field.Keywords: nurseries, plantations, coffee AbstrakMedia tanam yang baik adalah media yang mampu menyediakan air dan unsur hara dalam jumlah cukup bagi pertumbuhan tanaman. Hal ini dapat ditemukan pada tanah dengan tata udara yang baik, mempunyai agregat mantap, kemampuan menahan air yang baik dan ruang untuk perakaran yang cukup.Penggunaan media yang tepat akan memberikan pertumbuhan yang optimal bagi tanaman. Percobaan bertujuan untuk mengetahui media tanam yang paling baik untuk menunjang pertumbuhan bibit kopi Liberika Tungkal Komposit. Penelitian dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Batanghari di Pijoan, Muaro Jambi. Percobaan dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai Mei 2017. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan lingkungan acak lengkap dan rancangan perlakuan media tanam (M) sebagai berikut: M0 = 100% gambut, M1= 100% tanah jenis ultisol, M2= 50% tanah jenis ultisol + 50% arang sekam padi, M3= 50% tanah jenis ultisol + 50% cocopeat, M4 = 50% tanah jenis ultisol + 50% pasir sungai, M5= 50% tanah gambut + 50% arang sekam padi, M6= 50% tanah gambut + 50% cocopeat, M7= 50% tanah gambut + 50% pasir sungai. Uji lapang dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi, Desa Mendalo Indah, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Percobaan berlangsung selama enam bulan, mulai bulan Mei – Oktober 2017. Benih Kedelai yang digunakan adalah varietas Rajabasa yang diberi perlakuan pemberian bahan organik (0-5 ton ha-1) yang diuji pada berbagai cara aplikasi pemupukan anorganik lewat tanah (2/3 dosis diberi saat tanam dan 1/3 dosis diberi saat memasuki fase reproduktif) dan pemupukan lewat daun (pagi dan sore hari). Analisis data dilakukan melalui pendekatan uji ragam dan uji beda DNMRT pada taraf α 0.05. Berdasarkan hasil percobaan dapat ditarik beberapa kesimpulan sebagai berikut, 1) Pemberian bahan organik masukan rendah pada tanaman Kedelai memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman Kedelai yang disertai dengan cara aplikasi pemupukan yang tepat. 2) Pemberian bahan organik sebanyak 5 ton ha-1 yang diiringi dengan pemberian pupuk N,P, dan K 2/3 dosis saat tanam dan 1/3 dosis saat memasuki fase reproduktif yang disertai pemberian pupuk daun pagi dan sore hari memberikan hasil tertinggi pada variabel pertumbuhan, jumlah klorofil dan kandungan N daun, hasil tanaman serta bobot 100 butir biji, tetapi variabel pengamatan umur berbunga, mengalami perlambatan dibanding cara aplikasi pemupukan lainnya.Kata Kunci: Kedelai, Bahan Organik, Aplikasi Pupuk Melalui Tanah dan DaunABSTRACTThe study aims to examine the effect of low input organic matter on various methods of application of soil and leaf fertilization on the growth and yield of soybean plants in Ultisol so that the best soybean plants are grown and produced. Field tests were carried out at the Jambi University Faculty of Agriculture Experimental garden, Mendalo Indah Village, Muaro Jambi Regency. The experiment lasted for six months, starting in May - October 2017. The Soybean seeds used were Rajabasa varieties treated with organic materials (0-5 tons ha-1) which were tested in various ways the application of inorganic fertilizers through the soil (2/3 doses given during planting and 1/3 dose given when entering the reproductive phase) and fertilization through leaves (morning and evening). Penelitian bertujuan untuk membandingkan NKL polikultur Pinang dengan Kelapa Dalam dan Pinang dengan Kelapa Sawit. Pelaksanaan penelitian di Desa Sungai Beras, Kecamatan Mendahara Ulu, Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur pada bulan Desember 2018 sampai Maret 2019. Pengumpulan data mengunakan metode survey pada lahan-lahan petani yang ditanami Pinang, Kelapa Dalam, dan Kelapa Sawit monokultur dan polikultur. Lokasi penelitian di pilih secara sengaja karena pada lokasi-lokasi tersebut terdapat budidaya polikultur Pinang dengan Kelapa Dalam dan Pinang dengan Kelapa Sawit. Peubah yang diamati yaitu; fisik tanaman dan umur berbuah, estimasi produksi (kg ha-1), produktivitas (kg ha-1 th-1). Data yang diperoleh di lapangan dilakukan analisis statistika dengan metode deskriptif dalam bentuk tabulasi dan analisis inferensi dengan uji t berpasangan dengan taraf α 0,05%. Dari hasil penghitungan nilai NKL diperoleh nilai polikultur Pinang dengan Kelapa Dalam 1,19 dan polikultur Pinang dengan Kelapa Sawit 1,10. Dari analisis data yang didapatkan dari pemasangan dua perangkap yellow trap dan pitfall, hasil identifikasi menunjukkan bahwa penyebab dari serangan penggerek batang Tebu adalah Kumbang (Rhabdoscelus obscurus) termasuk dalam family Curculionidae dan subfamily Rhynchophorinae Ordo Coleoptera , diindikasikan hama tersebut merupakan hama utama pada tanaman Tebu yang pradewasanya dikenal juga dengan hama uret. Analysis of the data obtained from the installation of two yellow trap and pitfall traps, identification results indicate that the cause of the attack of sugarcane stem borer is the Beetle (Rhabdoscelus obscurus) included in the family Curculionidae and subfamily Rhynchophorinae Ordo Coleoptera indicated that these pests are the main pests in sugarcane plants which are commonly known as uret pests. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Parit Tomo, Kecamatan Betara Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat, dengan kondisi lahan gambut, dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai Mei 2018. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan nilai nisbah kesetaraan lahan (NKL) pada tanaman tumpang sari pinang dengan kopi serta menentukan model tanam tumpang sari pinang dengan kopi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey pada lahan-lahan petani yang ditanami pinang dan kopi monokultur dan pinang ditumpangsarikan dengan kopi. Lokasi penelitian dipilih secara sengaja karena pada lokasi-lokasi tersebut terdapat budidaya tumpang sari pinang dengan kopi. Peubah yang diamati yaitu; jarak tanam (m), tinggi batang (m), lingkar batang (cm), ketebalan daun (mm), warna daun, intensitas cahaya (fc), suhu (0C), dan produktivitas lahan (ton ha-1). Untuk menjawab hipotesis yang diajukan, data yang diperoleh di lapangan dilakukan analisis statistika dengan metode deskriptif dalam bentuk tabulasi dan analisis inferensi dengan uji Z berpasangan dengan taraf ? 0,05%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, nilai nisbah kesetaraan lahan (NKL) > 1 (1,84), menggambarkan bahwa sistem tumpang sari pinang dan kopi lebih menguntungkan dibandingkan sistem tunggal dan model pola tanam tumpang sari yang baik menurut penulis adalah model 2 .Kata kunci :, tumpang sari, jarak tanam, nisbah kesetaraan lahan ABSTRACTIntercropping areca plants with coffee plants is an effective combination for land use. Coffee planting can be done between rows of areca plants, resulting in optimal plants growth and productivity of the land. The research will be conducted in Parit Tomo, Betara, Tanjung Jabung Barat, with the condition of peatland. This research will be conducted from April to Mei 2018. This study aims to determine the value of land equivalent ratio (LER) in the intercropping of areca plants with coffee plants and determine the model of cultivation intercropping of areca plants with coffee plants. This research used survey method on farmers' land planted monoculture and intercropping with areca plants and coffee plant. The location of this study was chosen intentionally because at these locations there is a cultivation of intercropping with areca plants and coffee plants. The observed variables are; planting distance (m), stem height (m), stem circumference (cm), leaf thickness (mm), leaf color, light intencity (fc), temperature (0C), and land productivity (ton ha-1). For the provision of quality seeds need to be mastered technology seed storage properly. The aim of this research is to get the proper packing technique in maintaining viability of cocoa seed (Theobroma cacao L) during storage. The research will be conducted from Pebruari to Juni 2018, at Batanghari University Basic Laboratory. The design used is the Randomized Complete environment with the treatment of cardboard packaging with several ventilation holes: P0 = cardboard without ventilation, P1 = 2% ventilation box, P2 = 4% ventilation box, P3 = 6% ventilation box and P4 = cardboard box 8 %. The observed variables were: percentage of moisture content, percentage of seeds germinated in storage, percentage of sprout gain after storage, germination rate after storage, percentage of moldy seeds in storage and identification mushrooms. To see the effect, F test was done at 5% level, then continued with Duncan test at ? 5%. The result of the research showed that the treatment of the packing ventilation had an effect on the percentage parameter of moldy and germinated seed in storage and seed viability and vigor. In the treatment between ventilation, did not show any difference, but economically recommended the use of ventilation by 8%. Until storage on day 12 of the treatment of packaging vents can withstand the fungus attack 17.19% compared to control. The amount of ventilation does not show ability to withstand viability and vigor after storage. Peremajaan merupakan solusi untuk mengembalikan produktivitas tanaman. Beberapa metode peremajaan digunakan oleh petani swadaya yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan modal yang tersedia. Metode peremajaan yang umum dilakukan adalah tumbang total dan sisipan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan kelapa sawit asal peremajaan tumbang total dan sisipan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lahan peremajaan tumbang total dan lahan peremajaan sisipan yang berada di Desa Panca Mulya kecamatan Sungai Bahar Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tanaman kelapa sawit varietas Tenera berumur dua tahun yang di tanaman pada lahan peremajaan tumbang total dan sisipan dengan metode pengambilan sampel systematic sampling dan peubah yang diamati adalah fisik tanaman, pH tanah, intensitas cahaya, suhu, dan kelembaban. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik peremajaan berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman, dan tanaman kelapa sawit dapat tumbuh baik pada lahan peremajaan tumbang total. Pertumbuhan yang lebih baik pada tanaman kelapa sawit diindikasi dengan semakin besar diameter batang maka lebih baik, semakin rendah tinggi tanaman maka lebih baik, semakin banyak jumlah pelepah maka lebih baik, semakin terang warna daun maka lebih baik, dan semakin tipis ketebalan daun maka lebih baik. Tindakan agronomi yang biasa dilakukan adalah pengendalian gulma dan pemupukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Mekar Jaya Kecamatan Betara Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat. Waktu penelitian dilakukan selama 6 bulan. Penelitian ini diuji dengan. Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah kadar air bubuk kopi,warna, cita rasa, aroma, kepahitan, dan kesukaan. Dari hasil pengujian uji Tau Kendall terhadap, menunjukkan bahwa metode fermentasi kering berpengaruh nyata terhadap warna, rasa dan aroma seduhan bubuk kopi, tetapi perpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap kepahitan dan tingkat kesukaan. Panelis lebih menyukai seduhan bubuk kopi pada perlakuan fermentasi kering dengan lama fermentasi 6 dan 8 hari.Kata kunci : Fermentasi kering, Kopi Liberika, Mutu organoleptik. The aim of this research were to identify the characteristic fisic of coffee powder and organoleptic quality of liberican coffee liquid in dry fermentation with different time.The research location will do in Mekar Jaya village, Betara district, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency to be search in 6 months. This is an unformetted trial research and had 5 treatment kinds e.g. : Control (without fermentation), dry fermentation 2 days, dry fermentation 4 days, dry fermentation 6 days nad dry fermentatioan 8 days.Tau Kendal test was appled in this research to analised the parameter. The paramater evaluation were water content, colour, smell, taste, bitterness, and preference liquid of coffee. Tau Kendal test was appled in this research and the result showed that the dry fermentation method was significantly effected to the color of coffee powder liquid, taste and smell, but nonsignificantly effected in preference bitterness, and its preference. The objective of this research is to know the land post-mining characteristics related to planting medium. Implementation of research in Tanjung Pauh Village and soil Laboratory. The research was conducted by survey method and soil laboratory test. Data analysis of the diversity of post-mining soil characteristics is presented in table form and discussed descriptively. Post-mine soil chemical and physical characteristic: soil acidity level in very acidic position pH 4, Al saturation of high criterion equal to 52,86%, iron content 1,51% high criterion, Cation Exchange Capacity of 15,21 cmol (+) kg-1 is low, Saturation saturation of 49.44% is moderate, C-organic is very low that is equal to 0.16%, C / N value of soil 1.46 is very low, N total 0, 11%, P available 9,20 mg kg-1 and K total of soil 0,15 mg kg-1 are each classified as low. The post-mining land has poor physical and chemical characteristics of soil as planting medium. Keywords: soil chemistry, physical soil, Post MineABSTRAKTanah pasca penambangan memiliki sifat kimia dan fisik yang kurang baik serta memiliki tingkat kesuburan yang sangat rendah. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui karakteristik tanah pasca tambang terkait sebagai media tanam. Pelaksanaan penelitian di Desa Tanjung Pauh dan Laboratorium tanah. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan metode survey dan uji laboratorium tanah. Analisis data keragaman karakteristik jenis tanah pasca penambangan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan dibahas secara deskriptif. The continously use of this insecticide was feared a bigger trouble such as pest resistance, environmental pollution, and product refusing caused by the pesticide leftover over the standard. Biological control using entomopatogen was one of PHT. Concept. The useness of entomopatogen such as beauveria bassiana fungi as a controller agent is one way to avoid the negative impacts of chemicals toward to the environment .B. bassiana Fungi possess the high reproductive capacity, easily produced and it is able to produce a long surviving spores on a unfavorable condition. B. bassiana has a high potential in controlling various types of pest. Beside, this fungi shows easily obtained, it also easy propagated so that it can be reduces the control cost.The useness of B. bassiana fungi as a cacao pest control that will be conducted in small cocoa plantations in the Kebun Sembilan village will show how its ability in reducing the cacao pest population.The research uses completly randomsed block design which rice media with B. bassiana as a treatment factor. The result should has relation with cacao quality.Key word: Conopomorpha cramerella , beauveria bassiana , attacking intensitas.ABSTRAKSalah satu kendala dalam pengembangan tanaman kakao adalah serangan hama penggerek buah kakao (PBK) yang disebabkan oleh Conopomorpha cramerella. Kerusakan yang ditimbulkan oleh larva PBK berupa rusak dan mengeriputnya biji, timbulnya warna gelap pada kulit biji yang mengakibatkan turunnya berat dan mutu produk. Untuk mengendalikan hama penggerak buah kakao C. cramerella tersebut umumnya petani menggunakan insektisida kimia. Penggunaan insektisida secara terus-menerus dikhawatirkan menimbulkan masalah yang lebih berat, antara lain terjadinya resistensi hama, pencemaran lingkungan, dan ditolaknya produk akibat residu pestisida yang melebihi ambang toleransi.Pengendalian hayati dengan menggunakan entomopatogen merupakan salah satu dari konsep PHT. Penggunaan entomopatogen jamur Beauveria bassiana sebagai agen pengendali merupakan salah satu cara untuk menghindari dampak negatif dari bahan kimia terhadap lingkungan. Jamur B. bassiana mempunyai kapasitas reproduksi yang tinggi, mudah diproduksi dan pada kondisi yang kurang menguntungkan dapat membentuk spora yang mampu bertahan lama di alam. B. bassiana memiliki potensi yang besar dalam mengendalikan berbagai jenis hama. Selain mudah didapat, jamur ini mudah diperbanyak sehingga dapat menurunkan biaya pengendalian.
