A non-linear load on a transformer leads to harmonic power losses which cause increased operational costs and additional heating in transformer parts. It leads to higher losses, early fatigue of insulation, premature failure and reduction of the useful life of the transformer. To prevent these problems, the rated capacity of transformer which supplies harmonic loads must be reduced. In this work a typical 50 KVA three phase distribution transformer with real practical parameters is taken under nonlinear loads generated due to domestic loads. The core losses is evaluated using the three dimensional model of the transformer developed in Ansoft Maxwell based on valid model of transformer under high harmonic conditions. And finally a relation associated with core losses and amplitude of high harmonic order are reviewed & analyzed and then a comparison is being carried out on the results obtained by different excitation current in transformer windings.","PeriodicalId":136720,"journal":{"name":"Eurocon 2013","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117017345","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A scenario with Rayleigh fading statistics on both hops is assumed. In previous works we showed that in the region of small values of average signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) on hops best-to-best SCM (BTB SCM) scheme should be applied, while in the region of medium and high values of average SNRs on hops, BER performance improvement is achieved by implementing best-to-worst SCM (BTW SCM) scheme. In this paper we analysed new solution, where in the assumed relay systems with SCM, one or more subcarriers having the lowest SNRs on each hop are omitted. Besides, we examined power balance of the system implementing SCM through comparison of BER performance expressed as a function of power transmitted per subcarrier, with BER performance of the ordinary OFDM AF FG relay system, as well as with the performance in case of direct transmission between source of information (S) and destination terminal (D).","PeriodicalId":136720,"journal":{"name":"Eurocon 2013","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116281765","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most recent modeling tools tend to support the definition of rewriting rule based transformations in a visual or textual way. However, only a few of these support the continuous animation of the modifications performed on the models, which makes the traceability and the debugging of transformations more challenging. This paper presents the visual model transformation debugger realized in the Visual Modeling and Transformation System. The solution facilitates the step-by-step execution of model transformations, the visualization of the overall state of the transformation and also supports individual matches. Furthermore, it provides the possibility to influence the behavior of the transformation at runtime. The realized features are illustrated in a case study from the MATLAB Simulink domain.","PeriodicalId":136720,"journal":{"name":"Eurocon 2013","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123729873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although their impact on the environment is proven to be advantageous, the cost effectiveness still needs to increase. In this paper, the impact of the passive diode rectifier on the Joule losses in the generator is investigated. Passive diode rectifiers cause unwanted harmonics in the current waveform and a low power factor, increasing the losses. The capacitance value at the output of this rectifier has a large influence on these harmonics. The amount of harmonics could be reduced by including an inductance in series with the generator terminals. However, this results in a higher reactive power demand, which also affects the losses. In this paper, the impact of both the capacitor and inductance values on the losses are investigated.","PeriodicalId":136720,"journal":{"name":"Eurocon 2013","volume":"42 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120860516","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study uses defects data of twenty five different releases of five OSS projects. For each release of the selected projects two types of datasets have been created; datasets developed with respect to defect creation date (created date DS) and datasets developed with respect to defect updated date (updated date DS). These defects datasets are modelled by eight SRGMs; Musa Okumoto, Inflection S-Shaped, Goel Okumoto, Delayed S-Shaped, Logistic, Gompertz, Yamada Exponential, and Generalized Goel Model. These models are chosen due to their widespread use in the literature. The SRGMs are fitted to both types of defects datasets of each project and the their fitting and prediction capabilities are analysed in order to study the OSS reliability growth with respect to defects creation and defects updating time because defect analysis can be used as a constructive reliability predictor. Results show that SRGMs fitting capabilities and prediction qualities directly increase when defects creation date is used for developing OSS defect datasets to characterize the reliability growth of OSS. Hence OSS reliability growth can be characterized with SRGM in a better way if the defect creation date is taken instead of defects updating (fixing) date while developing OSS defects datasets in their reliability modelling.","PeriodicalId":136720,"journal":{"name":"Eurocon 2013","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126115309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In some working conditions, natural frequency of electromechanical oscillations could be close to the rotor speed frequency and small disturbance on turbine would be amplified few times because of electromechanical resonance. Influence of operating conditions on natural frequency is analyzed using mathematical model of synchronous machine with excitation system.
