Information about recurring action sequences is used to produce a behavior tree without any additional domain information besides a simple similarity metric - no action models or reward functions are provided. This technique is applied to produce a behavior tree for strategic-level actions in the real-time strategy game StarCraft. The behavior tree was able to represent and summarise a large amount of information from the expert behavior examples much more compactly. The method could still be improved by discovering reactive actions present in the expert behavior and encoding these in the behavior tree.","PeriodicalId":136707,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA)","volume":"165 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125975570","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent years too many explorer and moving robots are designed and manufactured. These kinds of robots need a mechanism for climbing stairs or steps to explore and discover all sections of a building. This introduced mechanism is an optimum mechanism in terms of energy consumption while climbing a step or stair with a specific altitude. The robot which is introduced in this article contains two axes. Each axis can change its Vertical position independently. This position changes upon the stair or step's height. When the robot meets a step or stair, it can climb by changing its wheel's axes alternatively. This robot's cinematic and 3D modeling that will be used for choosing the proper DC motors and other essentials for making robot, is done by MATLAB and CATIA software solution package.","PeriodicalId":136707,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132180180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"An IMC based fuzzy self-tuning mechanism for fuzzy PID controllers","authors":"A. I. Savran, Aykut Beke, T. Kumbasar, E. Moreover, we will present a fuzzy PI-D (FPI-D) structure in order to eliminate the derivative kick and the effect of noise on the control signal. The proposed IMC based fuzzy ST mechanism is constructed by two Fuzzy Inference Systems (FISs) and an IMC based SF (IMC-SF) parameter regulator. The two FISs will predict the current values of the system parameters by using the system output value and then the IMC-SF parameter regulator will tune the SFs of FPI-D with respect to presented tuning method. The performance of the proposed Self-Tuning FPI-D (ST-FPI-D) will be evaluated on a realtime laboratory scale extruder process with its discrete implementation via the ABB PLC PM573 industrial controller. We will compare and examine the control system performance of the proposed ST fuzzy control structure with an IMC based tuned ABB-PID and FPI-D structures. The real-time experimental results will show that the proposed ST-FPI-D structure enhanced significantly the control performance for various operating points and in the presence of uncertainties and nonlinearities when compared to the ABB-PID and FPI-D structures.","PeriodicalId":136707,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129505933","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of that this new model is called as dynamic fuzzy wavelet neural network (DFWNN). In the DFWNN model, IF part of the fuzzy rules are comprised of Mexican Hat wavelet membership functions and THEN part of the rules are differential equations of linear functions. For nonlinear system modeling and/or control applications, in order to find optimal model parameters, a gradient based algorithm Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno (BFGS) method is used. Gradients in this algorithm is calculated by using adjoint sensitivity method. To show the modeling and the control performance of the proposed model, a highly nonlinear and a well-known chemical process continuously stirred tank reactor system (CSTR) is selected. From the simulation results, it can be seen that the DFWNN model demonstrated both high approximation accuracy, and at the same time, good generalization performance in modeling of internal dynamical behaviors of the CSTR.","PeriodicalId":136707,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115936858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Current diagrammatic representations of state machines are almost too compacted and do not completely depict their underlying semantics or clarify basic static structure and elementary dynamic features. The paper proposes using a new diagrammatic representation for state-based depictions. Advantages of the new diagrams include enhanced understanding of the related problems and exposure to new variations in viewing state machines and how to reflect about them. The proposed method is demonstrated through diagramming of a traffic light controller that has been represented in state and statechart diagrams. In addition, a Turing machine example is depicted by the new methodology.","PeriodicalId":136707,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127662966","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These include the following: number of direction selective cells (MT neurons) applied as filters at the first step of feature extraction from the raw data; size of ESN reservoir used at the second step for feature extraction; selection criteria for proper 2D projection of the original multidimensional data; number of clusters into which data are separated. The tests were performed using real experimental data collected by a microphone array (called further “acoustic camera”) build from 18 microphones placed irregularly on a wheel antenna with a photo camera at its center. Using our approach we created dynamic “sound pictures” of the data collected by acoustic camera and compared them with the static “sound picture” created by the original software of the equipment. During investigations we also discovered that our algorithm is able to distinguish among two sound sources - a task that was not that well performed by the original software of the acoustic camera.","PeriodicalId":136707,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128801736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Increased maneuverability is achieved by using active arm-like tracks called “ flippers”. By being able to operate each flipper independently, we can operate VTAMP in different modes with the operator control unit (OCU) which in our scenario is a laptop. This is achieved through feedback loop on each flipper using encoders. The ability to change configuration facilitates VTAMP to be able to adapt to all kinds of terrains. The basic architecture of VTAMP is presented first, followed by its different modes of operation by possible flipper arrangements and its control scheme. An algorithm was made to prevent accidental collision between flippers. In addition to this, the turning radius of the VTAMP was also calculated according to the track speeds of both sides which were then verified through experiment.","PeriodicalId":136707,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127210707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The targeted structural coverage criteria are usually based on the criticality of the application. Modified Condition/Decision Coverage (MC/DC) is a structural coverage criterion that was introduced to the industry by NASA. Also, MC/DC comes either highly recommended or mandated by multiple standards, including ISO 26262 from the automotive industry and DO-178C from the aviation industry due to its efficiency in bug finding while maintaining a compact test suite. However, due to its complexity, huge amount of resources are dedicated to fulfilling it. Hence, automation efforts were directed to generate test data that satisfy MC/DC. Genetic Algorithms (GA) in particular showed promising results in achieving high coverage percentages. Our results show that coverage levels could be further improved using a batch of enhancements applied on the GA search.","PeriodicalId":136707,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128594118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accurate diagnosis and determining the causes are very important to solve these kinds of psychological problems. Machine learning (ML) techniques are gaining popularity in neuroscience due to their high diagnostic capability and effective classification ability. In this paper, alternative hybrid systems which allowed us to develop automatic classifiers for finding the Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) patients are proposed and compared. With the proposed system, not only the PTSD individuals are classified by ML techniques such as sequential minimal optimization (SMO), multilayer perceptron (MLP), Naïve Bayes (NB) but also the important indications of patients' trauma are determined by three popular feature selection methods such as chi-square, principal component analysis (PCA) and correlation based-feature selection (CFS). The effectiveness of the proposed system is examined on a real world dataset. Due to obtained results we can estimate the individuals as PTSD or NONPTSD patients with 74-79% accuracy range, further to that instead of 39 features 7 features are remarked as the most critical symptoms for PTSD.","PeriodicalId":136707,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA)","volume":"191 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133471892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the success or failure of applying Genetic Algorithms is highly dependent on how a problem is represented. Additionally, the number of free parameters makes applying these methods a science of its own, presenting a huge barrier to entry for beginners. This tutorial will give a summary on various representational aspects, discuss parametrization and their influence on the dynamics of GAs.","PeriodicalId":136707,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125681452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
