Data processing uses unpairedT-test.Results: The total sample was 22 subjects, consisting of 11 with positive NEC and11 negative NEC, with an average gestational age of 31.36 weeks and an average birthweight of 1490.45 grams. In the positive NEC group, the average RI value was 0.90and in the negative NEC group, the average RI value was 0.70. Here we analyzed the demography, indications, associated comorbidity,complications, management and their outcomes.Results: During this study period 53 cases underwent LSTC (laparoscopicsubtotal cholecystectomy), Median age of patients was 52 years (range 31-76years). 33 (62.26%) frozen calot’s triangle was the main peroperative findings inthese cases. The infundibulum of gall bladder was mainly managed byendosuturing of the stump (n=21) rest of cases managed by an Endo GIA (n=7),serial metallic clipping (n=2) and in 4 cases stump was left unsutured with onesubhepatic drain placement, 1 case omentum sutured over the cystic duct stumpanother 1 case of cholecystoduodenal fistula was repair with vicryl 3-0. Therewere (n=18) type I, (n=24) type II, (n=11) type III laparoscopic subtotalcholecystectomy done in our study. Two (3.77%) patients had postoperativemorbidity. 1 (1.88%) case had a postoperative bile leak which was successfullymanaged by ERC and stenting. None of the case had a wound infection or intraabdominal collection; there was no mortality and no bile duct injury. The medianpostoperative stay was 4 days (range 2-16 days). Accordingly,less attention has been given to this group of diseases. Hence there is not enoughliterature on so many aspects including pathology,diagnosis, treatment and outcome.Commonly, surgeons and researchers apply the same principles deployed for adults.Aims and ObjectivesTo evaluate the clinical and pathological pattern of paediatric breast diseases seen inour centre, and to review their treatment.MethodsThis is a four year retrospective review of cases of breast diseases seen in patientswho are of age 18 years and less in our centre from July 2015 to May 2019. The dataextracted were age, gender, clinical features, clinical diagnosis, laterality of breastlesion, treatment offered, histological diagnosis. The data were collated and analyzedusing the SPSS 17.0ResultsOne hundred and ninety one cases were analyzed. They comprised 29(15%) males and162(85%) females giving a male female ratio of 1:6. The breast lesions were in the rightbreast in 84(44%) cases, in the left breast in 75(39.3%) cases and bilateral in 32(16.7%)cases. Breast lumps were the commonest clinical presentation, and fibroadenoma andfibroadenosis constituted 79.2% of cases. There were no malignant lesions.ConclusionBreast lesions are not uncommon among our paediatric patients. The majority of thelesions presented as breast lump in the teenage years. Several studies suggest that one ofthe risk factors for carrying resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis is the historyof anti-tuberculosis treatment. The objective of our study is to describe theResistance Profile of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis of patients in retreatment inMadagascar. Methods: This is a descriptive and retrospective study, carried outfrom January 2014 to September 2018 (45 months). All the cases of re-treatementrecorded in the database of the National Tuberculosis Control Program inMadagascar were included in the study.Results: We gathered 1456 cases, the average age was 40 years, there was a malepredominance(sex ratio of 2.32). In the 1302 cases where the category wasspecified, there was a predominance of relapse (76.57%). According to theculture, the incidence of rifampicin resistance was 05.36% (78/1456) including83.33% of cases of multi-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) (65/78). The incidenceof isoniazid monoresistance was 05.49% (80/1456). Carrying MDR-TB is much moreimportant for patients who have failed (69.43%). The GeneXpert mtb/RIF enabledus to detect more cases of Rifampicine monoresistance (97 cases).Conclusion: cases of retreatment is a real source of the emergence of MDR-TB inMadagascar, especially cases of failure and relapse. Which is consistent with the data inthe literature. Bone tissues of the jawswere studied using 3D cone beam computed tomography scanner PlanmecaProMax. Planmeca Romexis® software was used for data processing andinterpretation. Estrogen level was estimated in all patients to confirm itsimbalance. The level of serum acid phosphatase was determined for indirectstudy of osteoporosis degree.Results: At the beginning of the research, significant bone demineralization andincreased level of acidic phosphatase were observed in all groups of women. In6 months of treatment the Hounsfield index and the level of acidic phosphatasein the control group were almost unchanged; in experimental group 1 – 1571±44 HU and 4.93 ± 0.26 IU/l; in experimental group 2 – 1701±48 HU and 2.43± 0.18 IU/l.Conclusions: Combination therapy consisting of calcium phosphate withvitamin D3 and aminobisphosphonates used for 6 months increased bonemineralization by 13.05% and reduced the activity of acid phosphatase by64.2%. No gender difference was noted in abnormal thyroid hormone profile in male and female group. A higher prevalence of MI was seen in age group 51-60 years in both male and female accounting for 26% and 15.5%respectively. A statistically higher prevalence of STEMI was seen in SCH and Euthyroid Patients (77.5%) as compared to NSTEMI in SCH and Euthyroid Patients (22.5%). In India, too, it has become a silent epidemic and it is estimated that there are over 60 million diabetics. Although in recent years, a lot of research papers have come up on the management of diabetes, latest treatment modalities may not be affordable to all. So, it becomes imperative to prioritize research on prevention and primary care. Magnesium is an intracellular cation and coenzyme for various reactions of the glycolytic pathway. Hypomagnesemia has been shown to precipitate hyperglycemia and has, therefore, been implicated in insulin resistance and its microvascular complications. Poor glycemic control has been associated with retinopathy. Hence, we evaluated association of serum magnesium with T2DM and diabetic retinopathy.","PeriodicalId":13590,"journal":{"name":"Innovative Journal of Medical and Health Science","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87160885","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
