Their dominant hand was placed on agar plates to establish the hand microbiome. After sanitizing and drying their hands, and using their phones for a few minutes, another handprint was taken to identify the bacteria on the phone. The bacteria were identified by standard microbiologic techniques. \u0000Results:Organisms identified in the normal microbiome included coagulase negative Staphylococci (CoNS, 90%), Klebsiella pneumoniae (16%), E. coli (8%), Staphylococcus aureus (4%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (2%) and Acinetobacter spp. (2%). CoNS isolated were found to be resistant to co-amoxiclav (41.67%), cotrimoxazole (20.83%), erythromycin (20.83%) and clindamycin (20.83%). Maximum resistance was observed towards co-amoxiclav. The repeat handprint showed the colony count as decreased by four times. Bacteria found were CoNS (92%), E. coli (4%), Enterococcus (4%), Klebsiella (2%) and Acinetobacter (2%). Antibiotic sensitivity was similar here with additional resistance to cefepime and cefoxitin by CoNS. \u0000Conclusion:Hand microbiome of health personnel comprises bacteria that are dangerous to immunocompromised individuals and our phones are effectively transmitting multidrug resistant bacteria to our hands within a few moments of contact. There was also a notable lack of S. aureus in our samples, while many other studies have shown it to be a common nosocomial pathogen, found on hands of health personnel. \u0000Keywords:Hand microbiome, Health Personnel, Antibiotic resistance, cell phone

Prostate-specific antigen (PSA), digital rectal examination, and transrectal ultrasound are the tools most commonly used to screen for prostate cancer. Prostatic biopsy is most often preceded by abnormalities found on digital rectal examination (DRE) or serum prostate specific antigen (S.PSA) elevation. This study was planned to know proportion of malignant and benign lesions in histopathologic examination for prostatic lesions in patient who attend OPD/IPD and to analyze the usefulness of serum PSA & ultrasound examination by histopathological confirmation. \u0000Methods: Patients visited to urology department with urinary incontinence and other complaints were evaluated which includes clinical history, signs and symptoms. Rectal examination of patients was done. Serum PSA level and prostatic biopsy were sent of those who were suspected for prostatic disease. Prostate biopsy was obtained by using any one of the following method 1.Transurethral resection biopsy 2. Transrectal biopsy Trucut biopsy. \u0000Results: Out of 300 cases of prostatic biopsy 265 (88.33%) are benign and 35 (11.66%) cases are malignant lesions. Out of 300 cases, 191 (63.66%) are pure benign prostatic hyperplasia, 48(16%) are BPH with chronic prostatitis and 11(3.66%) are BPH with severe prostatitis. Out of 35 cases of prostatic carcinoma 33 (94.28%) cases are adenocarcinoma and 2 cases (5.71%) are transitional cell carcinoma. Out of 262 cases with clinically benign lesions, 258 cases proved benign histopathologically but 4 cases (1.52%) are diagnose malignant. 151 patients have S.PSA less than 4 ng/ml, out of 151, 149 turned to be benign on histopathological examination. 52 patient have S.PSA above 10 ng/ml, out of these 52 cases, 29 have malignancy in HPE examination. Out of 278 cases diagnosed as benign isoechoic by ultra sonography 262 cases have benign lesion on histologic diagnosis and 16 have malignant lesion. Out of 22 cases diagnosed as malignant (hypoechoic asymmetrical) by ultrasonographicaly 19 proved malignant histologically. \u0000Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that transrectal ultrasound, serum prostate specific antigen and digital rectal examination were good tool to differentiate between malignant and benign lesions of prostate. The current study aimed to assess the knowledge of risk factors of breast cancer (BC), and the practice of breast self-examination (BSE) among females in the Tamale Metropolis of Northern Ghana. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study involving 1122 participants; consisting of nurses 157 (14.1%), teachers 227 (20.2%), undergraduate university students 339 (30.5%), medical students 95 (8.5%) and market women 304 (27.3%). Using a convenience sampling method to select the participants, we distributed questionnaires to participants which were completed and returned. Results: Most of the participants, 498 (44.4%) were between age 19-25. The majority were enlightened about BC (93.1%), and BSE (87.6%), 723 (64%) had good knowledge about the risk factors of BC. A total of 857 (76.4%) had previously been taught BSE. However, only 417 (37.2%) were found to practice BSE regularly. Conclusion: The knowledge of BC risk factors and BSE was remarkable, but varied in the various occupational categories. However, only a few participants practiced BSE regularly. There is a need for widespread educational campaigns to educate further and encourage women to practice BSE regularly. The inclusion of men in these crusades is long overdue. Equipped with the knowledge and skills of BSE, men could assist and encourage their spouses to frequently examine themselves. It is well known as a tumor suppressor gene, due to its inherent property of apoptosis and its role in the suppression of tumor formation. Its oncogenic property is due to p53 mutation. This oncogenic property is named “gain of oncogenic property”. The functions of p53 have been studied the world over, especially the oncogenic function. It is well known for its role to induce apoptosis, but now it is established that it is also a key player in cell cycle regulation. It controls and monitors the cell division, chromosomal segregation, and cellular senescence. Due to all these important cellular functions, this protein is labeled as the “guardian of the genome”. The p53 protein is a nuclear phosphoprotein. It is composed of 393 amino acids. The structural and functional domains are an N-terminal transactivation domain, a protein-rich regulatory domain, and a C-terminal domain involved in the regulation of DNA binding. The colorectal cancers (CRC) are a major cause of morbidity and mortality world over. This is the third most common cancer worldwide and the fourth most common cause of death.
