Magdelene","doi":"10.1109/ICEES.2018.8443216","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICEES.2018.8443216","url":null,"abstract":"Wind Contraction Diffuser and Tamer (WCDT) system is proposed in this paper which can be used for harvesting wind energy from the exhaust air of the outdoor unit of the Air Conditioner (AC) / cooling towers. The proposed system has been fabricated using the materials available in the scrap yard of the research premises. By suitably increasing the velocity of the wind using contraction and diffusion principles, the proposed method increases the power generation. This has been tested in the lab as well as with the proposed application. Proposed WCDT system is a means of generating power at the location of utilization which is non-polluting and of low cost solution. From the results, this paper concludes that, the proposed system could increase power generation which could be used for lighting systems which has been estimated at the end of this paper. Prithi","doi":"10.1109/ICEES.2018.8443280","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICEES.2018.8443280","url":null,"abstract":"This paper portrays the comprehensive study of torque ripple minimization of a Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) using the multilevel inverter (MLI) with various pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques. In modern era, the usage of switched reluctance motor increases widely in industrial areas. But, it has the limitations as high torque ripple which leads to the very noisy operation. For minimizing the torque ripple, the conventionally used normal converter has been replaced with cascaded H-Bridge MLI. MLI plays the vital role to reduce the total harmonic distortion (THD) in the source current which was fed to the SRM stator winding. Here, the four phase 8/6 SRM is obtained by using MATLAB/Simulink model which was fed by seven level inverter. A comparative study has been done by using various multi carrier based PWM techniques such as phase disposition, phase opposition disposition method, alternate phase disposition method, variable amplitude and variable frequency carrier based methods are incorporated in the multilevel inverter. This paper proposes a traditional technique which uses color and texture feature for fruit classification. Traditional fruit classification method depends on manual operation based on visual ability. The classification is done by Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier based on statistical and co-occurence features derived from the wavelet transform. This might result in the absence of some of the pedestrians and consumption of more energy for single target. This paper mainly presents most widely used energy optimization technique in dynamic mode. Tasks are scheduled on periodic basis, with inadequate time period for target switching and task switching. Face Detection in vision task is done by rectangular features of Haar and AdaBoost in Viola Jones Algorithm. Energy utility factor is allocated on Largest Task first algorithm basis. Task is allocated to the camera with uppermost amount of utility rate that can detect the face more approximately. Energy Consumption is optimized by the distributive market based bidding process and Adaptive strategy selection. Now-a-days, the IoT plays a major role in many fields by automating the application. The sensor used in this paper is PIR and temperature sensor. PIR is an electronic sensor that detects the motion of objects, by measuring the level of IR radiation. This principle is used to detect the stranger entering into the house. Temperature sensor and a camera are used to monitor and control the fire incident that takes place in a house. A sub motor setup with a solenoid value is used to spray chloroform. This action is done, which moves the stranger into unconscious state. The camera and PIR sensor are integrated in such a way that any movement in the room, switches ON the camera automatically. The house owner can view the live stream of motion that take place inside the house by the stranger. A mail and phone call services are included in the paper to alert the owner about the stranger action. BLDC motor have high torque ripple. Major reason for this torque ripple is cogging torque. This work shows the investigation and design optimization for decreasing the cogging torque by changing the stator teeth tang span to alternate the shape of stator teeth. It results in Peak to peak reduction of cogging torque. Hence the vibration and noise are minimized.
