This is a concurrent descriptive study carried out by evaluating medical records and MMAS-8 questionnaire for assessing patients’ adherence. In addition, therapeutic success and quality of life were also evaluated using WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. The study took place in the period of September-November 2018 at Medika Antapani Clinic. Data collected from patients under drug maintenance was used to identify the types of drug mostly used by the patients and their treatment, assess the impact of the management, and identify factor influencing therapeutic success. The results showed that there were 40 drug abusers at Medika Antapani Clinic. The abused drugs were amphetamine (80%), cannabis (72%), heroin (35%), benzodiazepine (25%), and nitrazepam (20%). Therapeutic measures used to treat drug abuse were alprazolam in 38 patients (95%), clonazepam in 33 patients (82.5%), nitrazepam in 29 patients (72.5%), lorazepam in 22 patients (55%), and diazepam in 14 patients (35%). Drug rehabilitation patients had low adherence of only 50%. Measurement of quality of life revealed social relation as the dimension with the highest score of 69 + 20.44, with most patients categorized as having moderate quality of life. Therapy with benzodiazepine has potential to cause dependence so it must be practiced with caution.","PeriodicalId":13466,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research","volume":"34 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86388930","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Present experimental research was done to explore the beneficial role of mushroom on health in hypercholesterolemia. Total thirty Swiss albino mice were taken and randomly divided into three groups: control A, group B and group C. Each group consisted of ten mice. The control A group was fed with normal mice pellet and fresh water. Group B was fed with hypercholesterolemic diet and group C was supplied hypercholesterolemic diet with mushroom powder (500g/kg/mice body weight) for 60 days. After the experimental tenure, mice of each group were sacrificed ethically and the samples (liver and blood) were collected for gross, histological study and lipid profile analysis.  Increased liver weight, pale and hemorrhagic liver in gross observation along with some histological changes including dilation and congestion of central and portal vein, fat accumulation in hepatocyte and marked lymphocytic infiltration were found in group B, while mushroom supplementation recovered this gross and histological changes and reduced liver weight in group C. Just mild congestion and dilation was in the portal vein of group C. In lipid profile analysis, total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) level significantly reduced respectively by 10%, 38% and 17% in group C than group B. High density lipoprotein (HDL) level also significantly increased by 20% in group C compared to group B. Therefore, it can be concluded that mushrooms might have potentially beneficial actions in recovering of some complications in hypercholesterolemia.","PeriodicalId":13466,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research","volume":"59 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90970228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Primary hypertension is one of the most universal comorbidities that precedes heart failure and is one of the more common risk factors held by the majority of the population. Right now, antihypertension that are generally used is from Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitor (ACE-I) and Angiotensin Receptor Blocker (ARB). A new group of an antihypertensive agent called “Angiotensin Receptor Neprilysin Inhibitor (ARNI)” to further improve the patient condition. This study aims to evaluate the effectivity of ARNI against ACE-I regarding its cardiac reverse remodeling effect. Search strategy was done using electronic databases, which are Pubmed, Scopus, and Cochrane. Articles included are therapeutic study that is in line with the clinical question and fulfills the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Critical appraisal was done by assessing the article’s validity, importance, and applicability according to Oxford Center of Evidence-Based Medicine 2011 to two chosen articles. 2 articles are chosen and appraised. Both of the study are shown to be valid and shows that ARNI has a significantly better result on improving cardiac reverse remodeling via the left ventricle ejection fraction compared to ACE-I. However, the applicability of ARNI is still debatable in Indonesia as it was not covered by national insurance and there is no generic form. ARNI shows to be significantly better to reverse cardiac remodeling compared to ACE-I, but its applicability has to be improved to be implemented in Indonesia.","PeriodicalId":13466,"journal":{"name":"Indonesian Journal of Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78319094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dandruff is due to the accumulation of dead skin cells, dry and oily scalp as well as the presence of skin infections and fungi in the head. To avoid the onset of dirt or dandruff to hair, it is necessary to do cleaning regularly using cosmetics one of them is active charcoal-based shampoo palm kernel shells. The capability of palm kernel shells can absorb dirt twice from commercial active charcoal to cleanse the skin to the fullest. This research aims to effectively absorption of the dirt in Invitro on the active charcoal shampoo of palm shells with a concentration of 12%. Invitro tests the effectiveness of the impurities absorbent by using a turbidimetry tool with a Nephelometric Turbidity Unit value or frequency number. While the irritation test is done on 10 people panelists. Comparative control used commercial shampoo as a positive control and base shampoo as a negative control. The results showed that a 12% palm shell activated charcoal shampoo provided an NTU value of 11,400 while a commercial shampoo gave an NTU value of 786. No panelists have irritation on the scalp.
