This method is based on the use of time domain admittance operator as a sub-cell model of the conducting layer. In particular, the admittance operator is directly computed in the time domain. We present the theory and the implementation in 1D, and show the ability of this approach to take into account very strong skin effects. The extension to 3D is reported elsewhere (see).","PeriodicalId":133902,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - EMC Europe","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125913128","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It consists of a dedicated program written in Matlab. As input data, a trapezoidal pulsed current waveform has been considered, and, varying the rise time and the duty-cycle, a parametric analysis has been performed. Also a noise superimposed to the signal has been considered. Parameters relevant to human exposure have been calculated following the ICNIRP Guidelines. A schematic operative diagram for metal inert gas welding applications is proposed; an experimental set-up has been built and the obtained results are reported.","PeriodicalId":133902,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - EMC Europe","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130414785","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is shown that the unbalance of the power mains network is mainly responsible for this radiated emission when using the power mains for BPL (broadband over powerline) data transmission. The relationship between different unbalance parameters and the resulting type of radiated field is shown and could be the basis for defining appropriated test conditions, when characterising BPL modems and systems.","PeriodicalId":133902,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - EMC Europe","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115848438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A resonant mode model is constructed and the model is then used to investigate the advantages offered by using a spread spectrum coding scheme in a resonant environment. The scheme used is direct sequence spread spectrum similar to that used in COTS systems such as ZigBee and Bluetooth. Results are presented using bit-error-ratio (BER) as a figure of merit. Finally a TLM model is introduced to permit future validation against experimental measurements in a reverberation chamber using a COTS 2.4 GHz ZigBee system in the frequency range 2.405-2.485 GHz.","PeriodicalId":133902,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - EMC Europe","volume":" 45","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120831788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This approach accounts for the corresponding impulse responses relating the feeding port signal to any vector field quantity at arbitrary positions within the cell. The investigations are conducted for a large GTEM cell by evaluating its simulated EM field when excited by an ultra-wideband (UWB) voltage pulse. For the field magnitude in question, the impulse response in each field component is numerically calculated by means of inverse convolution. Thus, the field components are determined for arbitrary excitation signals by convolution without need for further 3D simulations of the GTEM cell. The impulse response is verified by a comparison between convoluted results and a full wave simulation.","PeriodicalId":133902,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - EMC Europe","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128372818","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
