The transition is intended for mating of quasioptical track with wideband optical-acoustic receiver (OAR). The track is realized on the base of \"hollow dielectric waveguide\" transmission line. SWT ensures transmission of electromagnetic energy from HDW to OAR in a broad band of frequencies (600-900 GHz) with relatively low losses at essential (up to 23%) reduction of transition length, as compared with appropriate linear transition. Thus manufacturability and low cost are kept.","PeriodicalId":131192,"journal":{"name":"13th International Crimean Conference Microwave and Telecommunication Technology, 2003. The heterodyne circuit with input mixer has been chosen for sensor design. The sensor includes the mixer operating in a double-sideband (DSB) mode, intermediate frequency amplifier (IFA), square-law detector and low frequency amplifier (LFA). The conical horn is used at sensor's input as a feed of the main antenna. The mixer circuit uses beam-lead antiparallel-pair Schottky diodes of capacitance 30 fF and resistance 6 Ohm. IFA after mixer contains three amplifying stages in which the gain factor is 55 dB in 0.1-2.5 GHz frequency band. This construction is convenient for design of an array in form of two rows of receiver sensors, which are arranged in a focal plane of quasioptical antenna. Thus the sensor can find application for design of the passive imaging systems in a short-wave part of a millimeter waves band.","PeriodicalId":131192,"journal":{"name":"13th International Crimean Conference Microwave and Telecommunication Technology, 2003. The device was designed by INJECT Enterprise. CJSC R&M Ceter ALMAZ-FAZOTRON, Saratov, provided the technical support in development and manufacturing of VHF-plate. Study of high frequency characteristics up to 10 GHz was carried out by INJECT Enterprise, and above 10 GHz-by PhotoNova Inc., Canada. The photo-receiving modules under development have to be maximum unified in structure and characteristics for its possible replacements by the nearest analogues. They have standard input and output circuits, feature low levels of high frequency electric and back reflection noises.","PeriodicalId":131192,"journal":{"name":"13th International Crimean Conference Microwave and Telecommunication Technology, 2003.
