Quasi-experimental, longitudinal and prospective study. The educational strategy was the forum book El faro de Santa Cruz. A thousand glimmers of hope for battered women. Knowledge about gender violence has been measured in two phases, one before and one after the training. In addition, a rubric of individual and group skills was used. For the analysis, the SAS 9.4 program was used for descriptive statistics and an inferential analysis using Student’s t -test to contrast possible differences. Results. The pre-training evaluation (mean ± standard deviation) was (5.15 ± 1.14) and in the post-training evaluation the results were (7.49 ± 0.86). In the individual skills rubric, on a score of 20 points a result of (19.22 ± 1.27) was obtained and in the group skills rubric, on a score of 16 points a (15.27 ± 1.16) was obtained. Continuing with the analysis of the rubrics, the individual score was (9.64 ± 0.60) compared to the group (9.61 ± 0.67). Conclusion. Las situaciones a abordar en el campo de la educacion medica son la proporcion de medicos por habitantes, la equidad en el acceso a medicos especialis- tas en las diversas zonas del pais, las competencias de los medicos generales para actuar en el esquema de atencion pri- maria y una baja demanda de posgrados medicos. Se presentan algunos datos del estado actual de la educacion medica en el pais, la experiencia de creacion de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad del Valle, las recomendaciones de la Comision para la Transformacion de la Educacion Medica en Colombia y la postura ante ellas de los ministerios menciona- dos. Colombia avanza hacia la construccion de escenarios deseables en la educacion medica en conjunto con los entes gubernamentales, lo que posibilita una serie de acciones alrededor del contexto, el entorno, el individuo, el aprendizaje, las estrategias educativas, los recursos educacionales y la evaluacion. EnglishThis article presents an overview of the advances made in medical education in Colombia, based on the joint work carried out among the academia, medical education associations and the government through the Ministries of National Education and of Health and Social Protection as the bodies governing the profession. Situations to be addressed in the field of medical education include the ratio of the number of physicians to the number of inhabitants, equity in access to specialist doctors in the different areas of the country, the competences of general practitioners to work within the field of primary care and the low demand for postgraduate medical degrees. We present some data on the current state of medical education in the country, the experience of the creation of the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad del Valle, the recommendations of the Commission for the Transformation of Medical Education in Colombia and the position taken by the aforementioned ministries with regard to them. El proceso de adaptacion al Espacio Europeo de Educacion Superior ha comportado cambios en los sistemas de evaluacion de los aprendizajes en las facultades de medicina y ha introducido los conceptos de evaluacion de compe- tencias y evaluacion continuada. Objetivos. Describir y analizar, despues de seis anos de implementacion del nuevo plan de estudios de medicina, como se esta realizando el proceso de evaluacion continuada en las diferentes asignaturas de los tres primeros cursos del Grado de Medicina de la Universitat de Barcelona, comparandolo con lo recomendado por los expertos en evaluacion en educacion medica, y establecer posibles mejoras. Sujetos y metodos. Se describen las actividades evaluativas e instrumentos utilizados por las diferentes asignaturas que demuestran una gran variabilidad y diversificacion y una evaluacion compartimentada. Se recogen las opiniones y el gra- do de satisfaccion de los coordinadores sobre las actividades evaluativas utilizadas. Asimismo, se evidencia el esfuerzo realizado por los profesores de las distintas asignaturas para promover mejoras en el sistema. Resultados. Se comparan los resultados obtenidos con las recomendaciones establecidas por los expertos en educacion medica, con especial referencia a los programas de formacion institucional y al paradigma de la evaluacion para el apren- dizaje. Se discuten las dificultades existentes para desarrollar un mejor sistema de evaluacion continuada. Conclusiones. A pesar del esfuerzo realizado y de las mejoras introducidas en las actividades de evaluacion, estas no se ajustan totalmente a lo que deberia ser una evaluacion continuada real; se aboga por promover programas de formacion del profesorado sobre evaluacion en educacion medica EnglishIntroduction. The process of adaptation to the European Higher Education Area has brought changes in the assessment of learning outcomes in medical schools and has introduced the concepts of competence assessment and continuous assessment. Aims. To describe and analyze, six years after the implementation of the new curriculum, how the continuous assessment process is being carried out in the different subjects of the first three years of the Degree of Medicine at the University of Barcelona, comparing it with what is recommended by the experts in assessment and to propose ways to improve it. Subjects and methods. The different assessment activities and tools used in the different subjects are described, showing a great variability and diversification and a compartmentalized assessment. The opinions and level of satisfaction of the coordinators of different subjects regarding the assessment activities used are also shown. Likewise, it is evidenced the effort made by the teachers in promoting improvements in the system. Results.
