Since insulator surface degradation is characterized by changes in the harmonic content of the surface leakage current, synchronous detection serves as an efficient methodology with low computational burden, to compress the signal through parametric modeling. The performance of the proposed method has been compared with other well known parametric modeling techniques such as sine fitting and Kalman filtering, and the advantages of the proposed method have been highlighted. It has been demonstrated that the proposed method is able to estimate the true frequency with high precision and has the lowest computation time. The high precision and low computational time of the synchronous detection technique makes it a suitable algorithm for insulator leakage current monitoring through field devices.","PeriodicalId":130355,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy Economics and Environment (ICEEE)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121664208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, the duty ratio control scheme is shown with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques such as constant voltage controller (CVC) and Fuzzy logic controller (FLC), integrated with solar photovoltaic (PV) system. These MPPT techniques are used to achieve the maximum power point (MPP) through solar Photovoltaic system with help of duty ratio control of DC-DC boost converter. Another control scheme, such as Proportional integral (PI), Fuzzy Logic based controller to reconciled the duty ratio of DC-DC boost converter, are discussed also. This paper endeavor to develop an economic operational planning schedule for a day-ahead market based on Smart Distribution Network (SDN) considering a collaborative evaluation of dynamic pricing and peak power limiting based on Demand Response (DR) strategies. Also for the optimal cost savings, the distribution system operator (DSO) will constantly monitor the price fluctuation in power market to wisely schedule the SDN active elements and DR strategies. A case study with a 33 bus distribution system is used to illustrate the performance of the proposed method and the optimization procedure is solved using the modified particle swam optimization. The results ensures the possibility of technical and economic benefits to both customer and network. Controller plays an important role in AGC scheme. This paper presents a control scheme based on model predictive control (MPC) concept for multiarea power system in deregulated scenario. For guaranteed stability each area controller is designed independently. MPC controller is designed in such a way that for any load perturbation, generators can regulate the real power output to settle down deviations in frequency and tie line power exchange at desired values. The proposed MPC control scheme has been implemented for deregulated two area thermal power system. The performance of MPC controller is also checked for 75 bus Indian power system. Various load conditions has been considered to evaluate the performance of controller. The results and performance analysis are presented to justify the robustness & effectiveness of control scheme. The comparative performance analysis of MPC scheme and conventional proportional integral controller (PID) control is also presented.","PeriodicalId":130355,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Energy Economics and Environment (ICEEE)","volume":"280 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127508750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
