The aim of this study was to assess the vitamin status of athletes involved in various sports before important competitions. Materials and Methods. Athletes (n = 176) from six sports (сross-country skiing, biathlon, cycling, track-and-field, taekwondo, basketball) living in the territory of the Komi Republic were examined. Blood sampling was performed from the cubital vein 5–7 days before important competitions. Results. The results of this study showed widespread inadequate levels of some of the vitamins in athletes. The greatest number of people with hypovitaminosis (especially vitamins B1 and E) was among cross-country skiers, biathletes and taekwondo athletes. In general, the situation was similar for men and women. Comparative analysis of the vitamin status in athletes and people from this area (not athletes) showed that women-athletes had a generally higher incidence of deficiency than nonathletic women, and men-athletes had a similar vitamin status to nonathletic men. Conclusion. The results of this study showed that highly skilled athletes, regardless of the sport, were characterized by a high risk of vitamin deficiency. It is necessary to pay attention to the vitamin status of athletes, so as not to put at risk their health and physical performance.","PeriodicalId":13008,"journal":{"name":"Human Sport Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2019-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72375065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article deals with establishing the correlations between the anthropometric, hemodynamic, and vegetative tone indicators in first and second-year students during their adaptation to university conditions. The morphophysiological status of students was corrected by Selenes+ and additional physical load. Materials and methods. Students aged 17–20 years (n = 60) participated in a longitudinal study. The following physiological methods were used: body length and mass measurement; BMI calculation; detection of selenium in blood serum; systolic and diastolic pressure measurement; heart rate calculation; average dynamic pressure calculation; pulse pressure calculation; stroke volume calculation using Starr’s equation; minute volume blood flow calculation; endurance coefficient calculation according to Kvass’ equation; functional changes index calculation; Kerdo vegetative index calculation. Results. It was established that application of selenium depending on physical load in first-year female students influenced significantly the following indicators: arterial pressure (F = 4.21), heart rate (F = 3.42), minute volume blood flow (F = 3.80), functional changes index (F = 10.65), systolic pressure (F = 4.72; P < 0.05); selenium concentration (F = 93.97; P < 0.001). At the end of the IV stage, statistically significant F-criteria for arterial pressure (F = 3.50), heart rate (F = 4.33), endurance coefficient (F = 4.78; Р < 0.05), systolic pressure (F = 5.92), pulse pressure (F = 5.50; P < 0.01), functional changes index (F = 10.65), selenium concentration (F = 41.11; P < 0.001) were registered. Conclusion. The correlations revealed between the anthropometric, hemodynamic, and vegetative tone indicators in first and second-year students allowed to make a conclusion about the efficiency of the Selenes+ supplement during adaptation to university conditions. The Selenes+ supplement combined with physical exercises contributes to less pronounced stress in the cardiovascular system and provides the physiological optimum of the body.","PeriodicalId":13008,"journal":{"name":"Human Sport Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2019-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89429759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article deals with the effect of a whey-based product on the metabolic processes, character, and local mechanisms of the microcirculation in athletes involved in track-and-field athletics. Materials and methods. 32 male athletes participated in the study. The microcirculation was studied with the help of the LAKK-M laser analyzer. The calculations were conducted by using a special software package (version 2.0.0.423, LAZMA, Russia). Results. It is established that a course of the MDX Multicomplex bioproduct increases blood perfusion in the microcirculatory bloodstream by 34% and erythrocyte fluctuation by 66%, which improve the efficiency of metabolic processes.  Bloodstream modulation is provided by the enhanced performance of the local active regulatory mechanisms. A statistically significant increase of 42% is registered in the endothelium-dependent mechanism, the increase of 32% and 23% is found in the myogenic and neurogenic mechanisms respectively. The contribution of the passive regulatory mechanisms reduces as a result of chest and heart muscle performance.  The physiologically active substances of the bioproduct are involved in the vasodilation of microvessels and redox reactions at the cellular level.  A 22% increase in NADH reduced coenzyme and a 9% decrease in FAD oxidized coenzyme indicate a decrease in mitochondrial activity in the absence of physical exertion and, indirectly, confirm the complete restoration of the energy reserves. Conclusion. The data obtained proves the optimization of metabolic processes in the microcirculation as an effect of the MDX Multicomplex bioproduct.","PeriodicalId":13008,"journal":{"name":"Human Sport Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2019-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91128365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article deals with establishing the HRV indicators influenced by non-verbal information. Materials and methods. Vegetative nervous system reactions have been estimated under the influence of non-verbal information as a response to the emotional state of the passive repeaters. The functional status of the repeaters was influenced by an emotional video. A recipient was in an isolated room surrounded by the group of the passive repeaters and was not subjected to a direct influence of the emotional video. The assessment of the vegetative responses in repeaters has been performed using tone- and pulsometry, in recipients – using the mathematical and time-domain analysis of a cardiorhythmogram. ECG recording was synchronized with video demonstration and divided into 9 conditional stages, each of 100 cardiocycles. The reliability of differences has been assessed with the Wilcoxon non-parametric criterion. Results. The intensity of vegetative nervous system reactions in both groups has been registered during the stages preceded by a video demonstration. In recipients, the high frequency of the significant changes in RRNN, RMSSD, pNN50, HR, M, Mo, AMo, VRI proves body sensitivity to non-verbal information. The low variability of certain indicators such as VR, SDNN, AMo, VB, and SI allows us to establish their specificity. Conclusion. The presence and intensity of a vegetative reaction in the recipients is determined by the modality of the emotion formed in a passive repeater. This effect can be possibly considered as an emotional resonance in the recipient induced by asthenic emotions and the feeling of compassion and regret in the repeater as a response to an emotional video.","PeriodicalId":13008,"journal":{"name":"Human Sport Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2019-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87197700","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article deals with studying the effect of a complex selenium-containing compound and physio disease-preventing means on the enhancement of biochemical indicators in freshmen living in a selenium-deficient area. Materials and methods. We conducted 12 longitudinal studies with the students of the first and second year studying at Chuvash Universities (n = 180). Selenium concentration in blood serum was established with the help of fluorometry performed according to Golubkina’s interpretation (Fluorat-02-2M). The activity of lipid peroxidation (c.u.) and antioxidant system (c.u.) was studied using induced chemiluminescence (Biochemiluminometer БХЛ-06). Results. The use of Selenes+ together with a disease-preventing photochrome session is accompanied by antioxidant, metabolic, and hemopoietic effects manifested in the increase of antioxidant activity and selenium concentration by 31.1 and 62.5 %, respectively, and the decrease of lipid peroxidation by 4.1–19.7 % compared to control values. The use of Selenes+ together with exercises contributes to less pronounced stress in the cardiovascular system both during the study and exam periods. Conclusion. Therefore, selenium correction of body adaptation with respect to a biogeochemical specifics of a region normalizes the balance between prooxidant and antioxidant elements of the antioxidant protection system and provides an accelerated shift from short-term to long-term adaptation.","PeriodicalId":13008,"journal":{"name":"Human Sport Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2019-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85512489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article deals with establishing the differences in the functional and technical fitness of Nordic combined skiers during multiyear preparation. Material and methods. To establish the factor profiles of the functional and technical fitness in Nordic combined skiers, we examined athletes at different stages of multiyear preparation: 40 athletes – initial preparation, 35 athletes – 2-year training program, 40 athletes – more than 2-year training program, 30 athletes – sports performance enhancement. The structure of functional and technical fitness was established with the help of factor analysis. Results. The comparative analysis of the factor structure of functional and technical fitness in Nordic combined skiers revealed the significant differences at each stage of multiyear training. It was established that during the stage of initial preparation and 2-year training program the most important factors are the nervous system (eye-hand visual reaction time, reaction to a moving object, interference resistance) and jumping fitness (angle characteristics during the run-up, take-off, flight, and landing), which create favorable conditions for forming the basics of ski-jumping technique in Nordic combined skiers. After 2-year training program and at the stage of performance enhancement the leading factors of physical fitness are determined by the cardiovascular (the Ruffier test, recovery constant, and Health integral indicator) and respiratory (VO2max, the Shtange's and Hench's breath test) systems, as well as ski racing technique (angle characteristics at different phases), which are favorable for the enhancement of ski racing technique. Conclusions. The results obtained allow the coaches to effectively improve functional and technical fitness and adjust training loads to the specifics of a certain stage of multiyear training.","PeriodicalId":13008,"journal":{"name":"Human Sport Medicine","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2019-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79148215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article deals with establishing the features of ATPase erythrocytes in the athletes of the first and second categories and non-athletes from different age groups. Material and methods. We studied the capillary blood of track-and-field athletes and healthy non-athletes of the same age and anthropometric characteristics (n = 60). Blood analysis was performed with the help of the Dixion hematological analyzer (Russia). The activity of erythrocyte membrane ATPases was studied according to K.S. Keeton. Results. The study revealed significant (p < 0.05) differences in certain (HGB and RBC) hematological blood indicators in participants from different age groups depending on their physical fitness. Age differences between groups are not significant (p > 0.05). The results obtained demonstrate the significantly (p < 0.001) higher values of ATPase activity in the athletes of the first and second categories from various age groups. The increase in Mg2+, Na+, K+-, Mg2+- and Na+, K+-ATPases activity in athletes is connected with more intensive metabolism in this group because transport ATPases participate in the energy supply of training and competition loads. Age-related differences (p < 0.05) in the activity of erythrocyte membrane ATPases in both groups can be possibly connected with the conformation features of erythrocyte membrane protein. The two-factor dispersion analysis revealed that age significantly (Р < 0.001) determined Mg2+, Na+, K+-, Mg2+- and Na+, K+-ATPases erythrocyte membrane activity at 89.15, 87.46, and 81.40 % respectively; physical activity at 96.19, 95.45 and 93.80 % respectively.
