Thailand was taken as an example to analyze the impact of brand symbolism on the travel intention of tourists in this paper. The result showed that tourists' perception of Thai brand symbolism could be divided into three dimensions, the individual self-expression & relationship self-consolidation, the sense of group belongingness, and the demonstration of social reputation & status. Therein, the individual self-expression & relationship self-consolidation and the sense of group belongingness played a significant positive role in the intention of tourists to visit Thailand. While the role of the social reputation & status demonstration was not enough to promote tourists to visit Thailand.","PeriodicalId":129517,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM)","volume":"214 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122618202","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the effects of these messages on consumers’ booking intention still remain unclear. Focusing specifically on luxury hotels, this paper seeks to address three research questions: (1) How do limited-quantity scarcity messages (e.g., “20% discount – Only 1 room left”) differ from limited-time scarcity messages (e.g., “20% discount – Only 1 day left”) in affecting consumers’ luxury hotel booking intention? (2) How do frequent online purchasers differ from occasional online purchasers in their luxury hotel booking intention in response to scarcity messages? (3) Is there an interaction effect between scarcity message format (limited-quantity vs. limited-time) and online purchase frequency (frequent vs. occasional) on consumers’ luxury hotel booking intention? Data came from 96 participants who took part in an online experiment. Results indicate that limited-time scarcity messages induced higher booking intention compared with limited-quantity scarcity messages. Moreover, frequent online purchasers exhibited higher booking intention compared with occasional purchasers. However, the interaction was non-significant. The findings have implications for luxury hotel managers, hotel booking websites, and online consumers. While frequent purchasers getting influenced by scarcity messages is a good sign for marketers, the paper serves to remind the consumers not to become shopaholic in terms of their online buying behavior.","PeriodicalId":129517,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130813049","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its textual description also makes the report low in value and coarse-grained exploration. Moreover, hazardous chemical accidents are a process that constantly evolves and develops over time, and complexity and diversity of their occurrence scenarios make it difficult to explore more details of the evolution process of accidents by single-stage “cause-effect” rule mining model. In view of the above limitations, this article has proposed a new idea to solve the problem: analyze the hazardous chemical accident investigation reports systematically from the perspective of the scenario, and obtain the entire process and staged scenario representation theoretical frameworks applicable to massive accident investigation reports by scenario segmentation with human intervention as nodes and element extraction for report adequacy, and then according to the research purpose and demands, some elements in the framework can be selected to excavate meaningful and appropriate rules of whole-process and staged scenarios of hazardous chemical accidents by mining model combining rough sets and association rules. The suggestions provided in the study provide a way to explore the causes and knowledge behind l accidents from the macro and micro levels.","PeriodicalId":129517,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129293384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is difficult to improve productivity in the service sector because the value of a service is determined largely by the situation or the subjective perception of the customer, and the quality of service depends on the experience and institution of the service provider. This study analysed and examined sale strategies pertaining to what product categories should be presented next in what month to the customers who made a purchase in a particular product category in a particular month, by creating Bayesian network time-series models of customer purchases by considering employees’ sales skills. In addition, we created Bayesian network models for presenting products or services to suit values and needs of customers based on the questionnaire survey.","PeriodicalId":129517,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126049782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The benefits of cloud computing enable many organizations, including the public sector, to use this technology to provide the best service experience. However, there is an issue with the implementation of cloud-based applications when their usage is less than the number of applications offered. Therefore, a study on the acceptance of cloud computing in the public sector should be conducted. This paper aims to evaluate the validity and reliability of the instrument for cloud computing acceptance in Malaysian public sectors. The developed instruments are analyzed through validity and reliability phases. The validity analysis phase involves two stages of face validity and expert validity. The Content Validity Index (CVI) is used, and the feedback of the panel is considered in improving the items used. The reliability phase was conducted by performing an analysis to evaluate Cronbach ‘alpha for each item and also testing using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). The final instrument contained 71 items of 5-point Likert scale multiple-choice options, classified under 15 variables. As a result, this instrument is successfully validated and are reliable to be used in the actual data collection.","PeriodicalId":129517,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122689130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over the past several years, active learning is getting enough attention from the researchers but it is still at its developing phase and requires prerequisites for more improvements. These days, the educational trend has shifted from just gaining knowledge to the practice of dense learning. The purpose of this research is to realize the dense learning through facilitation embedded in the serious game (facilitation engineering- this concept is borrowed from the software engineering) that will help to conquer a good facilitator and its contribution towards active learning. By applying a serious game concept in active learning, it will emerge effective facilitation by introducing training sessions for multiple disciplines towards building engagement. The research findings explain that the role of facilitator and subfacilitator is important to create a serious situation to level up the motivational attitude. And motivation is the key to innovation that acts as a trigger for active learning. Therefore, the Active learning method needs to reflect knowledge gain and “how to learn” in parallel by building engagement for altruism.","PeriodicalId":129517,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122737176","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
