The Universal Laser ILS 12.150D model was utilized to cut out all pattern pieces for this design. The silhouette of this garment was inspired by the overalls, which were designed for working men to provide much more comfortable design after World War I. As the design scholars, this design was developed to honor the efforts and sacrifices of these 100 activists and reformers who worked for women’s rights over 100 years ago and to publicly announce these people’s names, so that we are more appreciate of the long struggle of countless persons which bequeathed to us today a more just and equitable society.","PeriodicalId":129029,"journal":{"name":"Pivoting for the Pandemic","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127013309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Following this, a number of brands have launched platforms where consumers can exchange or donate their used clothes. However, circular fashion still needs to overcome the negative images associated with secondhand clothes, such as contamination. What could decrease consumers' concerns with used clothes, thus promote circular fashion effectively among consumers? This study examines the effects of providing product history of clothes on increasing consumers' trust, attitude, and use intentions toward circular fashion service through a cross-cultural experiment (US vs. South Korea). The results indicate that the effects of product history on trust, attitude, and use intentions toward circular fashion service are different between US and South Korea.","PeriodicalId":129029,"journal":{"name":"Pivoting for the Pandemic","volume":"128 16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132353824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hodges","doi":"10.31274/ITAA.11926","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31274/ITAA.11926","url":null,"abstract":"Although existing research indicates that many consumers are interested in knowing how their clothing is made, there is a lack of knowledge about what aspects of sustainability resonate with consumers and why. Moreover, studies have not fully examined the methods of communication preferred by consumers, and how such communication might impact their apparel consumption decision-making. Thus, the purpose of this study was to address these gaps by exploring such issues from the perspective of the consumer. In-depth interviews were conducted with twenty participants focusing on the dimensions of sustainability and how these dimensions would be best communicated to consumers. Three emergent themes were used to structure the interpretation: Its Importance is Relative, Communication Mode vs. Message, and Increasing the Interest Level. Results offer insight into the aspects of sustainability that resonate with consumers, the ways by which consumers prefer to receive apparel-related sustainability information, and the potential role of sustainability labels in consumer decision making. Further research is needed that examines the effectiveness of communication strategies for encouraging socially responsible consumption, and particularly strategies that involve messages that are meaningful to consumers.","PeriodicalId":129029,"journal":{"name":"Pivoting for the Pandemic","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133853784","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This piece is part of a five ensemble collection. The purpose of Brick Lane to Buckingham is to show the juxtaposition of the new edgier generations and the traditions of the older generation wrapped into one. The traditions and inspirations in this collection include The Vaults (Figure 1), whose mission is to “collaborate and conspire, embracing artists from all walks of life to come together and inspire others” (The Vaults). The Vaults incorporate the edgy and traditional generations. This design piece also incorporates this through the traditional cape, because the royalty in Britain often used capes as a fashion piece, “In the 1950s, designers reimagined the cape completely, eschewing functionality by abbreviating the length to the chest and closing the front (Figure 2). It was seen as a fashion statement, with an emphasis on shape, fabric, and seamless lines” (Cheng). The design also brings in the edginess of the new generation through patent and leather, which is very prominent in London's current streetwear.","PeriodicalId":129029,"journal":{"name":"Pivoting for the Pandemic","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114780537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
