Based on numerous archival sources, the author concludes that the annexation of Ossetia to Russia was the only possible positive vector of development for it. At an early stage in the formation of Russian-Ossetian relations in the second half of the 18th century, cooperation in the military sphere was especially fruitful. During the Seven Years' War in 1760, by decree of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna, a detachment was formed from the Caucasian highlanders, among whom were Ossetians. In 1763, in Mozdok, a mountain team of ―Mozdok Cossack Brothers‖ was formed from Ossetians and baptized Circassians, numbering 214 people. A significant military detachment of Ossetians as part of the regular units of the Russian army took part in the Russian-Turkish war of 1768-1774. At the beginning of the 19th century, the Caucasian squadron was formed in St. Petersburg, in which, along with other highlanders, there were Ossetians. In 1828, on the initiative of the Ossetians themselves, a military detachment was formed, the members of which heroically proved themselves during the Russian-Turkish war. The creation of the Ossetian military detachment was the first event of its kind in the Caucasus, which makes this fact of particular importance in the context of the entire history of Russian-Caucasian relations.","PeriodicalId":128487,"journal":{"name":"History: facts and symbols","volume":"92 7","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120921303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The work uses a comprehensive approach to the analysis of various archival sources in combination with the genetic data of the y-chromosome of modern descendants. The documentary base of the work was made up of European and Russian chronicle sources of the 12th-16th centuries, archival information from the regional archives of Russia, European genealogical tables on the history of European states and genealogies of Russian princes and nobles. The search showed that in the middle of the XII century the ancestors of the Vorontsovs and Bassovol-Khvostovs could be siblings from the family of the knight Count Loritello Robert I Bassavil, a South Italian Norman from the Rollonid family. Their distant relationship with the princes from the Rurikovich-Monomashich dynasty was established. At the same time, the legend of the appearance of the Resh princes Vorontsov from the marriage unions of the descendants of the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick Barbarossa and Count Robert I Bassavil is substantiated. The genetic affiliation of the Vorontsov and Bassovol-Khvostov clans to the grand ducal family confirms the version of the murder of the Moscow thousandth boyar Alexei Khvost in 1357 as a possible contender for the throne and may be one of the main reasons for the cruel reprisal of Ivan the Terrible against members of this family close to the court long before the oprichnina and the expulsion of their relatives to Kazan immediately after its conquest.","PeriodicalId":128487,"journal":{"name":"History: facts and symbols","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129127853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim is to find out to what extent representatives of the largest banking structures and businesses influenced the dynamics of the financial and economic side of the Franco-Russian political alliance. The author reveals a circle of agents and contacters who interacted not only among financiers and entrepreneurs, but who had connections in power structures. Based on the study of the correspondence between representatives of the Russian and French business elites, the paper allows to make conclusions about the positions, which these people occupied in the implementation of joint financial operations, and to which extent the foreign policy environment was important in making commercial and investment decisions. It seems that for professional bankers the first priority was the issue of profit. Acting in general cooperation with the ruling elites, financiers did not always share the opinions of politicians on the methods of achieving diplomatic goals through the use of banking institutions, since such paths sometimes led to a decrease in the income of credit organizations. Bankers, on the other hand, sought, above all, to obtain benefits. At the same time, among the representatives of the business world there were people involved in the diplomatic service, for whom both the political and economic aspects of cooperation, as well as the scientific study of the ally country, were important.","PeriodicalId":128487,"journal":{"name":"History: facts and symbols","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115341632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The former were recruited exclusively from the active army, while the latter were recruited from both logistic units and civilian volunteers. In the course of the study, the author analyses what information about the attack units and the revolutionary battalions was published in the military newspapers and concludes that its versatility made it possible to cover their establishment, existence and combat activity in sufficient detail. On the one hand, the newspapers provided detailed information on the organization of the revolutionary battalions. In particular, materials were printed about the procedure for joining these groups and support for volunteers. Moreover, letters and telegrams of military personnel were published in which they expressed their desire to join «parts of death». In addition, counter-insurgency telegrams and orders from the High Command were regularly published concerning the emergence of new attack units and the activities of existing ones. On the other hand, attention was paid in the military press to reflecting the controversy over the advisability of the existence of such combat units, which had flared up in the Russian army. In this connection, military newspapers have published collective decisions by groups of soldiers, personal letters from soldiers and officers, and interviews with women‘s death battalion volunteers on their motives for joining the volunteer movement. Finally, a wealth of information was provided in the army press about special combat forces - the women‘s death battalions.","PeriodicalId":128487,"journal":{"name":"History: facts and symbols","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114804937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The features of the selection of literature for family evenings are analyzed, the features of the reader's interest among different social and age groups of nobles are characterized (primarily due to the appeal to the composition of book collections). During the study of the reading circle of the central Chernozem nobility, it was possible to establish the fundamental importance of family reading for the formation of interests, creative abilities, moral qualities of the upper class. The daily appeal to books and the culture of thoughtful reading itself were due to the difficulties in acquiring (in comparison with the capitals) new publications. The shelves of bibliophiles could contain French atheistic writings and religious texts, books of economic importance and novels for easy reading. The provincial nobility sought to adopt the capital's book fashion, but the specific conditions for the creation of libraries and the personal interests of landlords created a special information environment, individual in each case. Through the active development of the book heritage, the early socialization of noble youngsters took place, interest in certain topics and directions in literature was formed. At the same time, the image of reading parents became a role model and formed the necessary conditions for the reproduction of reading traditions in the future.","PeriodicalId":128487,"journal":{"name":"History: facts and symbols","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126365164","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main source in our study was the letters of the Russian tsars, published back in 1864. the editor of the \"Don military vedomosti\" I.P. Pryanishnikov. As a result of the application of historical-comparative and historical-typological methods, we concluded that for the Moscow state, issues related to building relationships with the Kaziev ulus (The Little Nogai Horde) through the use of Don Cossacks, if not paramount, then, in any case, played a far from the last role in foreign policy in the southern direction in the XVI– XVII centuries. The measurement method was used by us when calculating quantitative information about the main actors of international relations contained in the certificates sent from Moscow to the Don, which we compared to determine the main and secondary partners of Russia in the southern direction. Abramov, a wellknown ideologist of right-wing populism in the 80-s - 90-s of the ХIХ century. For a long time his name has been associated only with the development of the theory of \"small deeds \" as the core of the ideology of moderate right-wing populism. A sustained interest in Abramov's ideological legacy was awakened only in the 1990s on the wave of revision of attitudes toward supporters of peaceful social progress. And by now Abramov has grown from a \"minor\" writer and publicist, as Abramov was considered to be at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries, to a \"ruler of thoughts\" and an \"unknown genius\". Trying to understand the reasons for this metamorphosis, the author consecutively examines the works of pre-revolutionary, Soviet and modern researchers of the so-called \"Abramovshchina\" and comes to the conclusion that from the very beginning the attitude to Abramov as a theorist of \"cultural\" populism was highly ideological and there are still many blank spots in his intellectual biography. Special attention is paid to the works of Abramov's countrymen (Agapkin, Novak, Zverev, Golovko and others), who managed to attract the attention of modern researchers to his ideological legacy. In the conclusion of article the circle of questions which need the further studying is defined. And these are not only the gaps in the biography of the populist-culturnik, but also the main question: was Abramov the \"father\" of the theory of \"small deeds \" or should he be regarded as a theorist of \"great cultural work\", as the researchers Golovko and Mokshin insist.","PeriodicalId":128487,"journal":{"name":"History: facts and symbols","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122057541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Subjective and objective factors influencing the idea of death are analyzed. The dependence of peasant life on the environment is revealed, since nature occupies a special place in the structure of the peasant mentality. The article contains proverbs, sayings from fairy tales, confirming that the life of an individual was unsteady, was constantly under the threat of death. The theme of the Orthodox interpretation of death is touched upon, where the worldly and spiritual are interpreted as a kind of confrontation. An analysis of the perception of peasant views on child mortality is given, where the emphasis is on the fact that the peasant woman was responsible for survival of the whole family as a whole, all children, and not each individual child. The category of «peace» is affected as the highest pleasure. The embodiment of this highest value is paradise, and the way to achieve it lies through death, which relieves a person of the burden of responsibility. It is concluded that the main aspects, of the peasant way of death are connected with the concrete practical life of the peasant, the peasant family and the peasant community, which was supposed to take care of the life of communityю, as a whole, and not lose heart due to the death of a particular person.","PeriodicalId":128487,"journal":{"name":"History: facts and symbols","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130952322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis of small sources on this subject has been carried out. Archival documents of the Office of the Archives of the Municipal Formation of the City of Novorossiysk and the National Electronic Library were used. The types of economic activities are described in detail, as well as some ways of caring for the vineyards that took place during the heyday of the estate. The production of Sheskharis wines developed in parallel with similar activities of the specific estate of Abrau-Durso and the winery of M.F. Penchula \"Myskhako\". The production of the estate was repeatedly noted at foreign and domestic exhibitions of the late XIX, early XX centuries, incl. at the agricultural and cultural-industrial exhibition of the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus \"Russian Riviera\". After the revolution, the estate was nationalized and continued its activities as a state farm \"Rosa Luxembourg\". The problems of the implementation of this plan were mainly touched upon, but the issue of the formation of its social order was not investigated. The article notes that each generation enriched, supplemented and brought new touches to the development of Moscow, focuses on certain political, economic, socio-cultural features of Moscow, emerging in the 1920s-1930s. The article pays attention not only to the resolution \"On the general plan for the reconstruction of the city of Moscow\" of May 10, 1935, but also to other important party documents, primarily the decisions of the June (1931) plenum of the Central Committee of the CPSU (b), formulated in the resolution of the plenum of June 15, 1931. \"About the Moscow urban economy and the development of the urban economy of the USSR\". The article analyzes the reasons for the socialist restructuring of Moscow, the planned and comprehensive development of the city, and the radical improvement of the living and cultural conditions of Muscovites. Ideological reasons prevailed in the preparation of the reconstruction plan of the capital, because it was necessary to show the advantages of the Soviet social system.
