For the spectrophotometric method validation the spectra of the fluconazole-Cu(II) complex in the presence of volatile oils were analysed and the wavelengths corresponding to the maximum absorbance values of the complex were determined. Evaluating the precision, linearity, accuracy and robustness of the elaborated visible spectrophotometric method, the obtained values of the specific parameters fell within the limits provided by the standards in force. Linearity was very good for the following fluconazole concentration ranges: 0.268 - 2.68 mg/mL for oregano essential oil, 0.2073 - 2.073 mg/mL for cinnamon essential oil and 0.2317 - 2.317 mg/mL in the case of clove essential oil. The proposed visible spectrophotometric method has been successfully applied for the assay of fluconazole in clove, cinnamon and oregano essential oils","PeriodicalId":12344,"journal":{"name":"FARMACIA","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2023-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139313185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition to food and drinking water, cosmetic products also contain mercury in small amounts. Our goal was to evaluate the concentrations of mercury in various brands of cosmetic products and to demonstrate that the daily application of cosmetics raises the risk of mercury accumulation in the body. The most purchased cosmetic products were identified based on the three-months sales reports of ten pharmacies and five specialized cosmetics stores from Poland, regardless of the brand or name of the product. The first six categories of best-selling cosmetic products were selected, and the first seven most requested products were selected from each category. The concentrations of mercury in 42 cosmetic product samples were analysed by 254 Advanced Mercury Analyzer. Lupus nephritis (LN) is a serious manifestation of SLE, affecting the majority of patients and posing a significant threat to the well-being and survival of SLE patients. More research and evidence are needed to determine whether belimumab can be used to treat active LN, as data on the safety and efficacy of belimumab in the treatment of active LN are currently lacking. The search criteria utilised were “belimumab”, “lupus nephritis”, “systemic lupus erythematosus” and “lupus treatment”. The search was limited to articles published between January 2000 and May 2022. The analysis and evaluation were performed using Rev Man 5.3 and Stata, the risk of bias (RoB) of the included articles was assessed, and the heterogeneity was assessed using the Q-test and the I2 statistics. The results showed that in the 6 included references, the OR for efficacy of belimumab in the treatment of LN was 0.30, the OR for safety was 0.22, and no heterogeneity was observed between study groups (I2 = 0.00%; I2 = 0.00%). The OR for renal involvement of belimumab in the treatment of LN was - 0.22, and the OR for complications was -0.37, indicating apparent heterogeneity","PeriodicalId":12344,"journal":{"name":"FARMACIA","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2023-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139313257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, male CA patients in the hospital were selected as research subjects and enrolled into the control group (30 cases, CO 2 laser treatment) and the observation group (30 cases, CO 2 laser combined with anti-HPV biological protein dressing treatment). The viral DNA load of the two groups was determined and compared before treatment, after treatment and at 18 months of follow-up. The treatment response rate and relapse rate of the two groups were also compared. After 18 months, both control and observation viral DNA loads were significantly lower (p < 0.05). After treatment and 18 months of follow-up, the viral DNA loads in the observation group were significantly lower than the viral DNA loads in the control group (p < 0.05). The efficacy rate (93.33%) of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (63.33%), the long-term recurrence rate (13.33%) was significantly lower than that of the control group (43.33%), and the adverse reaction rate (23.33%) of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (56.67%) (all p < 0.05). Therefore, a CO 2 laser combined with an anti-HPV biologic protein dressing can significantly reduce the HPV load in CA patients, improving the cure rate and reducing the recurrence rate.","PeriodicalId":12344,"journal":{"name":"FARMACIA","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2023-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139313318","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These compounds protect the body against oxidative stress and certain diseases such as diabetes and cancer, where the antioxidant efficiency of the defence system is low. The plant material (harvested from Romania) was analysed for polyphenols and flavonoids using thin layer chromatography (TLC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with photo diode array and mass spectrometer. The polyphenols/flavonoids (caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid, p -coumaric acid, protocatechuic acid, rutin and quercetin) were identified and quantified in different part of the plants (flower, leaf, stem and roots for Dipsacus laciniatus and both roots and leaves for Armoracia rusticana ). The least amount of polyphenols were found to be as expected in the root part of Dipsacus laciniatus. This was also sustained by the further UHPLC-MS analysis. The results revealed that the flower extract has the highest radical scavenging activity with 87.43% followed by the leaf extract with 86.63%, the stem extract with 83.54% and the root extract with 78.17%. Higher concentrations of p-Coumaric acid and ferulic acid were identified in the Armoracia rusticana samples whereas the Dipsacus laciniatus samples contained higher concentrations of both protocatechuic acid and chlorogenic acid. The results of the present study revealed that the methanolic extracts of both Dipsacus laciniatus and Armoracia rusticana , can be considered an effective source of antioxidant compounds.","PeriodicalId":12344,"journal":{"name":"FARMACIA","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2023-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139313729","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
