Extension development is made without fixing the existing source code in order to maintain the existing functions. As a result, the source code for the data and data access are scattered throughout the program, and thus, it is difficult to modify them. We present a technique that can be easily modified in this paper to migrate the software structure. For this purpose, we focus on the program composition of information and control systems. These systems monitor facilities, check for differences between the planning and actual situations, and decide on the output to the facilities. This means the data access is composed of planning and facility data. The migration technique extracts the access codes for the planning and facility data from the existing source code using program slicing, and identify them by analyzing the relation of the data access codes. This enables us to manage them so that they do not re-scatter. We applied this technique to actual system software and confirmed its effectiveness.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117126013","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to ensure fairness of concomitant resource sharing tasks, generic extensions of maxmin fairness under priority are considered. A critical analysis of existing approaches leads to the definition of two fairness relations based on formal modifications of the maxmin fairness standard of comparison. One is based on using priority functions for internal weighting, the other on priority classes. Experimental evaluation shows that maximizing under these relations indeed gives relations close to maxmin fairness that take priorities into account such that higher priority users receive higher allocations in average. Further studying the wireless channel allocation model problem shows that prioritizing can give solutions of higher efficiency than maxmin fairness.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126940785","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been recently shown that community structure plays an import role in epidemic spreading. However, the effect of different vertices on epidemic behavior was still unclear. In this paper, we classify vertices into overlapping and non-overlapping ones, and investigate in detail how they affect epidemic spreading respectively. We propose a SIR epidemic model named ICP-SIR (Inner-Community Preferred Susceptible-Infective-Recovered) where the inner-community and inter-community spreading rates are different. We consider the case where epidemic process is started by immunizing and infecting multiple overlapping or non-overlapping vertices. The epidemic model is applied on both synthetic and real-world networks. Simulation results indicate that compared to non-overlapping vertices, overlapping vertices play a vital role in spreading the epidemic across communities. The result of our research may provide some reference on epidemic immunization in the future.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122747726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective is to avoid the impact of potentially significant adverse events on the business. Bayesian networks allow the integration of open source community data and expert judgement in order to determine the value of risk indicators. The approach taken here is to ask domain experts to evaluate specific scenarios of OSS community data (or risk drivers) in terms of values of risk indicators. In this paper, we describe the structure of tactical workshops with the purpose of obtaining the domain expert evaluation. The results of this evaluation are used in the RISCOSS methodology to construct Bayesian networks that map data from community risk drivers into statistical distributions that are feeding a platform management dashboard. We describe the empirical application of the tactical workshops and the lessons learned from the workshops conducted so far.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116773114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To facilitate high reusability of the various data stored on the platform, the platform's search function must be able to locate all data useful to a particular application. We refer to this cross-schema-manner search as a schema less search. We have proposed a tree-structured indexing method, called UBI-Tree, for efficient schema-less searches. UBI-Tree predicts usage frequencies of each query based on characteristics of stored data. Moreover, UBI-Tree classifies incoming data to improve the search performance of frequently used queries. One disadvantage of the conventional UBI-Tree is decreased search performance as a result of differences between predicted and actual frequencies. Therefore, we propose a new method to improve search performance. This method utilizes the query history and is based on the real search load. We show experimentally that our proposed method improves the average latency and throughput of search processes.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115270518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These compounds have numerous effects on food: add color, stabilize, texturize, preserve, sweeten, thicken, add flavor, soften, emulsify, and so on. According to a recent report by the World Health Organization, governments have lately focused on legislation to reduce such ingredients or compounds in manufactured foods for they might have side effects causing health risks such as the heart disease, cancer, diabetes, allergens, obesity, etc. Safety in food consumption especially by patients of risk groups have become crucial for such health problems are in the top ten ranked health risks around the world. By supervising what and how much to eat as well as what not to eat, we can maximize a patient's life quality by avoiding unhealthy ingredients or compounds. In helping patients take control of their safe food consumption, we need smart personal e-health systems. Smart personal e-health systems with advanced knowledge management technology can provide suggestions of food appropriate for consumption by individuals. Accessing annotations in the ontology knowledgebase of food appropriate to their personal health condition can be provided. Research in the current state of the art has shown that both models and methodologies have their particular impact, but have not yet been put into a mutual context. Another reason combining these models is the possibility for US smart grid experts to re-use the SGAM model and its benefits, and vice versa encourage the European stakeholders to use the particularly useful security analysis framework from NIST. Within this paper, we briefly introduce both methodologies, their strengths and fallbacks, and outline the very necessity to make them interoperable and, therefore, aligning them. Finally, the logical interfaces framework from NISTIR 7628 is mapped onto the SGAM and its planes, domains and zones, bridging the gap for the experts for security analyses.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124372378","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

File hash matching is typically done by computing a complete file hash value for each file on a storage device and comparing that to a pre-computed hash list. This work examines how various improvements to the basic technique impact the time required to perform hash matching. Specifically, side-information assisted approaches are evaluated in this work. By utilizing side-information such as file sizes and pre-hashes in addition to the traditional hash values, we find that it is possible to considerably decrease the amount of time required to perform file hash matching. A simulation model is used to evaluate the potential time saving over a range of storage devices and using five different empirically derived file size distribution datasets totaling 36 million file sizes. The results indicate that side-information assisted hashing provides a considerable reduction of the time required, ranging between 5% and 99%, with the majority of cases providing reductions with more than 50%.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115073029","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A good requirement management can not only help developers to meet the requirements of the system, but also play an essential role for the communication among the stakeholders. Usually, natural language is used to describe and record the user requirements, yet it tends toward the situation of ambiguity, inconsistency, imprecision and incompleteness. Because of the lack of accurate modeling, developers can only suffer from manual efforts to integrate and track related artifacts such as UML modeling diagrams. This insufficiency may cause the inconsistency of the collected documents and further analysis difficult and time consuming. In order to increase the accuracy of requirement modeling and analysis, it is important to have appropriate management methods and tools. In this paper, we use SysML and requirement elicitation template to collect and model user requirements, and then transform requirement diagrams into other diagrams for design and analysis according to the transformation rules which are defined by ATLAS Transformation Language (ATL). This approach is to provide a convenient procedure and tool, with graphical interface, to elicit, analyze, validate and verify system requirements, and to ensure that the programming software system can satisfy users' needs.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132600868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
