It is necessary to encourage the cooperation of students, faculty, and staff through education and training of information ethics, together with improving management and technologies, and as a consequence, to reduce university costs. We have been producing collections of video clips for information ethics education for university students to be used as teaching materials. New technology, service, custom, and so on accompany new security issues and ethics issues. So we have continued to produce video clips for these issues for ten years. We have produced the fourth edition of collections of video clips this year. This paper shows what kind of our clips and how our video clips changed in ten years.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117343025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In an increasingly connected world, the trend is for resources to be accessible from anywhere at any time. Greater access to resources implies more targets and potentially a larger surface area for attacks, which makes securing systems more difficult. Automated and semi-automated solutions are needed to keep up with the deluge of modern threats, but designing such systems requires a distributed architecture to support development and testing. Several such architectures exist, but most only focus on providing a platform for running cyber security experiments as opposed to automating experiment processes. In response to this need, we have built a distributed framework based on software agents which can manage system roles, automate data collection, analyze results, and run new experiments without human intervention. The contribution of this work is the creation of a model for experiment automation and control in a distributed system environment, and this paper provides a detailed description of our framework based on that model.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127293955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Generally, system models using SSS perform processing of SSS at client terminals of users. Then, the size of data sending from a client terminal is n times of that of original user's data, where n is a parameter of SSS and larger than one. We focus on the usage that mobile devices are used as client terminals. The properties of mobile devices have low computational power and poor communication bandwidth compared with desktop PC and notebook PC. In these devices, the size of the sending data should be reduced in order not to waste the communication bandwidth. Hence, we present a scheme to securely outsource the processing of SSS on an agent server, which achieves the size of data sending by user's client terminal (mobile device) is as same as original user's data. In addition, our scheme gives computationally secure confidentiality to the temporally user's data on agent server, and does not require additional key management for recovering original user's data by combining a SSS using exclusive-OR operations and stream cipher. Moreover, we implement a prototype system, and evaluate the processing time and security of the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122602198","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For elasticity, scalability and efficiency, some operators try to use cloud resources to collect data from IoT devices and analyze such data on the net. On the other hand, protecting privacy is an issue for using cloud resources. We focus on the technology of using cloud resources for collecting and analyzing IoT data. We propose m-cloud, a distributed computing mechanism with multiple cloud resources. In this paper, we propose an API design process and API evaluation guidelines. \"API Analysts\" elicit functions from requirement documents. \"API designer\" design APIs for the functions following the guidelines. \"Technical writers\" produce documentation for the APIs. \"API reviewers\" evaluate the APIs and API documentation conforming to the proposed guidelines. This approach, SSALO, represents the Subterfuge Safe Authorization Language (SSAL) using a description logic subset of the Web Ontology Language, and Semantic Web Rule Language. This implementation provides a policy engine that enforces subterfuge safe authorization of requests for accessing the protected resources of distributed principals. SSALO provides a common domain model for integration of heterogeneous security policies. This approach is useful for secure cooperation and interoperability among principals in open environments where each principal may have a different security policy and different implementation. We discuss the characteristics of SSALO in capturing SSAL and providing a framework for secure and dynamic integration of heterogeneous security policies specified by distributed principals in different domains. Due to the limited resources, it is very crucial to identify the key set of components such that we will be able to devote our resources to those components in order to improve the system availability and reliability most effectively. Unfortunately, few works have been dedicated to the analysis of component importance and the system reliability from the aspect of components' location. This paper introduces a multi-dimensional mechanism to analyse the importance of components in a system and the their influences on the reliability from four aspects: centrality, entropy, costumer preference and service priority. This mechanism provides an interactive approach to identify the key set of components during the architecture design phase. Both centrality and entropy evaluate the component influence from static perspective. On the other hand, we estimate component importance from the dynamic point of view with costumer preference and service priority during application execution.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130186281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, we propose a new modeling method using a Markov regime switching which builds the evaluation model where latency drastically changes with time as in the mobile network. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the proposed modeling method is evaluated based on the measurement result which is collected while the user of the cellular phone moves around within a wide area. The evaluation results helps us to disclose whether or not the evaluation model estimated from the proposed method can accurately estimate dynamics of the mobile network quality.","PeriodicalId":123335,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133933121","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The one of most important key technologies to realize a large-scaled information infrastructure is a distributed in memory database system. In this paper, we introduced a large-scale information infrastructure, mainly explaining a distributed in-memory database system \"okuyama\" which is a key technology on our project. The framework provides a simple and easy way to develop device applications working with a cloud, that is, scalable computing resources on the Internet. The framework consists of two key technologies, (1) transparent remote procedure call (2) mechanism to read, write and process Java object with scale-out style distributed data store. A great benefit of the framework is no need of writing server-side program nor database code. A very simple client-side program is enough to work with the framework, to read, write or process Java objects on a cloud. The mechanism is infinitely scalable since it works with scale-out technologies. In this paper, we describe the concept and the brief architecture of the Dripcast.
