It is usually carried out through the auctions held by the spectrum licensees themselves or by the designated third parties that collect the vacant channel information from the licensed users. In most of the standard auction methods, range of bidding prices can be very wide, with no restriction on maximum and minimum bidding values. This situation can create instability in channel pricing that can lead to underutilization of vacant bandwidths. An auction scheme, in which predefined maximum and minimum bid values can be used, is proposed in this work. It also proposes to offer reduction in allocation prices, based on the prevailing demand and supply of vacant channels, at various times. Simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme offers better performance in comparison with other existing auction methods, in supporting the Quality of Service (QoS) of cognitive radio users, and in stabilizing the pricing of channels.","PeriodicalId":123050,"journal":{"name":"2017 3rd International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Computing and Communication Technology (iCATccT)","volume":"205 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123256947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, they have not been innovated ever since their invention. Managing existing noticeboards is manual and very tedious process. Few of the common problem in handling current noticeboard consists of printing documents and then physically going to the location of the board and changing a notice as well as organizing them. Also with every new notice paper pins and clips have to be maintained as well. It takes time and large amount of human labor to well maintain a noticeboard. In this paper, we propose entirely new concept of noticeboards based on Internet of Things (IOT) technology, that make the process of posting notice very efficient and easy process. To update a board, one just need to log into our system and write message.","PeriodicalId":123050,"journal":{"name":"2017 3rd International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Computing and Communication Technology (iCATccT)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130359220","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over dependency on fossil fuel can cause problems that affect the next generation to survive. In the current context, it is very important to know how to minimize the energy consumption and how to adapt various energy efficient techniques at least for power limited systems to overcome the energy crisis. Many research works are carried out and people are looking for a clean and better solution for the next generations. The new era Internet of Things has given a new dimension leads to an energy efficient management system. Internet of Things can overcome the existing energy wastage problems to a great extent. IoT is a combination of electronic devices like sensors and intelligent software applications to build an effective data exchange network. In this paper, it is proposed that smart street light design which is one of the basic ideas in reducing wastage of power as in the concept of building a flexible smart city management plan which is essential to the prosperous life of the future generations residing in city environments. To implement this scheme a low-cost Wi-Fi module ESP8266, Light-dependent sensor and ultrasonic sensor are used. Here the LDR sensor is used ON-OFF the street light based on the ambient intensity level. This switching can be done by ESP8266 after reading the LDR value. The need of Ultrasonic sensor comes into picture when a vehicle or a person comes in the range, the light glows with 100%brightness otherwise, the street light glows with less intensity (60%). This avoids unnecessary power waste during the night when there is no sign of vehicle or pedestrian. Thus by using these two sensors, an intelligent automatic light is designed with the help of IoT frame work which is energy efficient.","PeriodicalId":123050,"journal":{"name":"2017 3rd International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Computing and Communication Technology (iCATccT)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124484218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The associated protection problems due to distinct operating characteristics of DERs and loads with different operational dynamics associated with dual operating modes, demand for efficient protection technique. In this regard, this paper presents a wavelet and ensemble of SVM classifier based scheme to perform fault detection/classification considering non-linear load under dual mode of microgrid. The proposed scheme utilizes standard deviation of the approximate coefficients obtained during feature extraction process through DWT as the input feature to train the ensemble of SVMs. The test results of the proposed scheme against varying fault parameters and the performance comparison with single SVM classifier clearly reveal the effectiveness of the developed scheme for providing accurate and reliable protection to the microgrid.","PeriodicalId":123050,"journal":{"name":"2017 3rd International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Computing and Communication Technology (iCATccT)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127094909","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Congestion occurs in wireless sensor networks when all the sensors nearby event start sending data to the base station. Congestion results in less throughput and non reliability of a system. The machine learning algorithms can be applied for congestion detection in network and then congestion can be mitigated by lowering the transmission rate. In this paper we analyze the performance of multilayer level perception (MLP) — a neural network technique and classification by regression algorithms. The machine learning techniques are applied to detect the different levels of congestion in as low, medium or high.
