Abstract

In the proposed paper a Planar Inverted-F antenna with Defected Ground Structure is incorporated for wireless communication. Dumbbell shaped slots have been used. The antenna resonates at a frequency of 2.45GHz. Here the substrate used is Duroid. To achieve the desired results the ground has been defected and the dimensions of ground and substrate have been optimized. On the basis of simulation, antenna shows improvement in the gain and bandwidth of 90.1% and 11.1% respectively.
