The new method does not rely on the characteristic function of the sum of Nakagami random variables. The error rate of CPSK signals for L-channel diversity is expressed as a L-fold integral. The multiple integrals can be efficiently computed using either the Gauss-Hermite quadrature or the Gauss-Laguerre quadrature integration formulas to obtain accurate numerical results. Numerical values for the error rates of 2-, 4- and 8-CPSK signals for EGC diversity reception are presented","PeriodicalId":122994,"journal":{"name":"First International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122603590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is a continued increase in demand for energy to meet the growing industrial needs of rapidly increasing population. To cater the future demand, it is important to conserve energy by efficient use of resources and equipments. Apparel sector is one of the energy intensive sectors of the country. The cost of energy substantiates a significant component of its total operational cost. Therefore, study of energy consumption and identification of the potential for energy conservation is crucial to ensure industrial competitiveness on a global scale. This paper has aimed to assess the energy consumption of apparel sector in terms of equipments used and functional areas occupied. The methodological approach of this study includes walk through audits, detail audits, and interviews with selected management staff. From the study, it has been found that the major energy consumer is air conditioner which records average percentage of 46 % of the total energy consumed. Whereas, the areas wise assessment reveals that sewing area consume major part of the energy which is in the range from 40-65% of the total energy consumed. It has also been found that the potential for energy saving in this sector is in the region of 15-30%. Therefore, this study has attempted to make some recommendation for the energy efficiency by doing a cost benefit analysis for the energy efficiency measures. This in turn will reduce the cost of energy and products and help to achieve the competitive advantage","PeriodicalId":122994,"journal":{"name":"First International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124913619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study consisted of two phases. In the first phase (from 1995-1999), different types of composite insulators were installed in 33 kV distribution network and were tested under marine, industrial (cement dust) and clean environments. Based on the outcomes of these tests a new set of silicone rubber insulators was selected for the phase two (2001-2006) of the project under marine and clean environments. It was found that the silicone rubber insulators performed well during this period and there is a possibility for stressing such insulators higher than ordinary porcelain insulators. Further it was found that housing material composition influenced the performance of insulators stronger than the creepage distance","PeriodicalId":122994,"journal":{"name":"First International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124663813","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this approach, a new form of the electric-field spatial-domain Green's function is used in a symmetrical form that simplifies the discretization of the integral equation using the method of moments (MoM). Hence, a Helmholtz decomposition of the unknown currents is achieved by applying the loop-tree decomposition of the currents. However, the MoM matrix thus obtained still cannot be solved efficiently by iterative solvers due to the large number of iterations required. Consequently, a permutation of the loop-tree currents by a connection matrix is proposed to arrive at a current basis that yields a MoM matrix that can be solved efficiently by iterative solvers","PeriodicalId":122994,"journal":{"name":"First International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117031751","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In many rural settings, this facility is just not available. This non-availability poses serious health hazards. So there is a need for simpler and effective method to diagnose these diseases. This technique is used in conjunction with frame reduction scheme to lower the bit rate without much affecting the colour video signal. Many of the techniques available for low bit rate video applications will either require lot of hardware resources or take advantage of the powerful computer platform that is used for their software implementation. The algorithms used are devised targeting hardware implementation for systems with limited hardware resources. The algorithms can be used for multiple colour frames for any type of video signals.
