In our system, we collected our test data from twenty different writes for uppercase, lowercase and digits. We used the nearest neighbor classifier with elastic matching as between patterns distance measure. We achieved very good recognition accuracy 95.99% for uppercase letters, 92.21% for lowercase letters and 99.11% for digits. The arm was moved in a desired trajectory. The motion was actuated by a 1 degree-of-freedom robot system. Trajectories used in the experiment were minimum jerk (the rate of change of acceleration) trajectories, which were found during human and human cooperative task and optimum for muscle movement. As the muscle is mechanically analogous to a spring-damper system, a second-order equation was considered as the model for arm dynamics. In the model, inertia, stiffness and damping factor were considered. The impedance parameters were estimated from the position and torque data obtained from the experiment and based on the \"estimation of parametric model\". It was found that the inertia is almost constant over the operational time. In the existing system an optical sensor is used for the feedback that tracks the drawing-into 1:1 scale. The new proposal is to modify the entire system using stored-programs with feedback generated from shaft sensors. Thus the proposed system uses AUTOCAD software for drawing implementation. The application software developed in the project extracts the minimum information necessary for the controller from the AutoCAD file (DxF). This process creates a new file (information_file) containing the path information. A unique discretization process is proposed to generate suitable data points to the controller using the information_file. The algorithm developed minimizes the data points to be stored and to be sent to the controller as reference data. The controller, in essence, tracks the drawing within the given accuracy, while maintaining the correct flame speed. It is shown that a simple controller with cost-effective hardware can implement the contouring-controller for a flame cutter. Some experimental and simulated results are presented. Statecharts are increasingly being proposed as the language of choice. Limitations of these formalisms in the context of formal verification have been discussed in an accompanying paper. Formal verification is necessary to specify these systems in an easy and safe way, to maintain traceability along the different phases of the design, and to analyse the behaviour of the defined system. The current communication reports a new approach for modular specification and verification of statechart based controllers for systems characterised by continuous reaction to external stimuli and asynchrony. We start from the methodology of Drusinsky and Harel to develop a statechart into a tree of interconnected FSMs: each state at each non-atomic level of the statechart hierarchy is represented by a machine implementing the FSM corresponding to its sub-states on the next immediate level. The methodology proposed in the present paper is based on: (i) a modified definition of controllability (as suggested by Fiordal, et al for unequal alphabets) from that in standard supervisory control theory; (ii) prioritized synchronization of Heymann instead of Ramadge-Wonham type supervisors and event forcing supervisors of Golaszewski-Ramadge to handle the resulting nondeterministic systems with driven events; (iii) disjunctive and mixed fusion rules of LaFortune et al to handle the state space explosion in real-scale applications and (iv) the mechanism of inter-modular communication through port structures developed by Endsley et al. This method changes the hysteresis bandwidth according to modulation frequency, supply voltage, dc capacitor voltage and slope of the reference compensator current wave. The hysteresis band current controller determines the switching signals of the active part of hybrid filter, and the algorithm based on an extension of synchronous reference frame theory (d-q-0) is used to determine the suitable current reference signals. To evaluate its performance, this method is compared to the conventional hysteresis band current controller. Simulation results using MATLAB Simulink Power System Toolbox show the performance of the proposed control algorithm with quite satisfaction to eliminate harmonics and reactive power components from utility current. Several different technologies including thermal, acoustic, and electromagnetic have been evaluated as possible candidates for use in a reliable long- range detector which can find tripwires completely obscured by vegetation. An acoustic method has been proposed to detect non-metallic tripwires. The results of some experimental measurements using this approach are presented.
