Particle swarm optimization method is used for solving the nonlinear optimization problems. While minimizing the objectives voltage stability margin is also maintained. An enhanced hot-spot will support both IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN and cellular radio services. Simultaneous transmission of these radio signals over a single radio-over-fiber (ROF) link is possible in a subcarrier multiplexed manner. However, link design in this multi-system scenario is a complex task. There are number of quality measures such as signal to noise, distortion and interference ratios involved both in the optical link and in the air interface. These are functions of several parameters such as the fiber length, bandwidth, modulation depth, radio cell size and relative RF power of both systems. Representation of generator fuel cost curves by polynomials in real-time economic dispatch solution. As the proposed approach is a direct or non-iterative method, it does not demand any initial guess values for incremental cost (gamma) of units for given demand (PD). Many of the existing conventional methods fail to impose p-limits at violating units and find difficult in dealing with cubic cost function that reflect nonlinearity of the actual generator response. The proposed method is very efficient for both small and large size of generating units with cubic fuel cost function in the problem and it remarkably reduces the computation time. However, moving the payload using the crane is not an easy task especially when strict specifications on the swing angle and on the transfer time need to be satisfied. To overcome this problem, an intelligent gantry crane system had been introduced. Fuzzy logic controllers were adopted, designed and implemented for controlling payload position as well as the swing angle of the gantry crane. In this paper, robustness of the proposed intelligent gantry crane system is evaluated and compared with an automatic gantry crane controlled by the classical PID controllers. It has been increasingly used in computer vision applications. In this study, the ability of three statistical texture analysis measures to perform lamb grading were compared with respect to the classification accuracy. The texture measures examined were the grey level difference method (GLDM), the spatial grey level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) and the grey level run length matrix (GLRM). In addition, some image geometric features were also measured. The dimensionality of the input feature space was reduced using principal component analysis (PCA). The classification was performed using individual reduced feature sets and their combinations. Both discriminant function analysis (DFA) and artificial neural network (ANN) analysis were used for classification of lamb chop images into different grades. The results indicated that GLCM is the best texture measure, of the three texture measures considered, for lamb grading. The geometric features also performed equally well. Both GLCM and geometric features performed better than GLRM and GLDM. The higher classification performance was achieved by combining feature sets. Step by step implementation, conflict avoidance between local supervisors and difficulties encountered are discussed. Petri nets are used as the modelling tool and Lin and Wonham framework is used as the control architecture. Assembly stations are modelled as intelligent agents. In this regard, Oliveira have suggested a technique of modifying the state transition graph (STG) of sequential circuits incorporating digital watermark in such a way that it is impossible for anyone to even imagine that the watermark exists in the design. Moreover, it assists the IP owner to prove in a court of law his ownership in case of suspected piracy of the design. We have used this technique on a 5-bit sequence detector with a 3-bit signature that helps to detect the piracy. The comparison of simulation results of both watermarked and non-watermarked circuit, using ModelSim simulator, indicate no change in the maximum operating frequency of the circuit. This is the outcome of our work and has not been reported in the literature earlier. Also, the test results of piracy detection circuit confirm that only one output of this detection circuit can monitor the internal state of the sequential machine, thereby detecting the piracy.
