It analyses a survey report on research output and publications in relation to Africa and West Africa in particular. It covers the period 1960 –2005. It identifies the key areas of disparities among scientists –salaries, self-sufficiency for graduate and post-graduate education, level of structure of research funding. It shows countries and trends of scientific research. Based on the review, the researcher recommended that it is necessary for governments, scientific ministries, and research institutes to foster the needed will and cooperation that will enable researchers and scholars in West African sub region to once again become active participants and contributors to the world of scientific research.","PeriodicalId":122710,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Social Science and Humanities","volume":"219 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126906699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The secondary objective is to analyze the effect of profitability on stock prices and analyze the effect of solvability on stock prices. The total population in the study was 4 SOEs so that all banks were sampled, thus the sampling technique used a census. The data used are financial statements for the period 2012 to 2021. The analysis technique uses multiple regression analysis. The results of the analysis show that profitability and solvability simultaneously affect stock prices. Profitability has an effect on stock prices. Solvability does not affect the stock prices of state-owned banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Thus, banking in order to continuously improve financial performance in order to increase the stock prices of the bank. However, their historical journey towards a closer partnership has been shaped by a range of factors, including political considerations, strategic interests, economic opportunities, and shared challenges on the global stage.The present article sheds light on dynamics in India –US relations during the two tenures of the UPA government (2004-2009 & 2009-2014). As it is a dynamic subject and a matter of contemporary relevance and importance, India-US relations is still attracting the attention of scholars around the world. Statesmen on both sides have bemoaned this period as ‘the lost half century’ or ‘the fifty wasted years’ during which the world’s largest democracy and the world’s oldest democracy failed to cooperate consistently across a range of issues.The UPA governments' tenure marked a turning point in the relationship, characterized by strategic initiatives such as the New Framework for the US-India Defence Relationshipand US-India Civil Nuclear Agreement,which paved the way for enhanced defence, nuclear energy, economic and tradecooperation. It provided a comprehensive roadmap for engagement in areas such as joint exercises, defence trade, and research and development collaboration.","PeriodicalId":122710,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Social Science and Humanities","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131009725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study uses secondary data with samples of 69 manufacturing companies in the basic industry and chemical sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2017 to 2019 which were obtained using purposive sampling method. The independent variable in this study is earnings management with Discretionary Accruals as proxy which measured using Modified Jones Model. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method based on the implementation model of George Edward III with indicators of communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Then the data analysis technique used is the interactive analysis model from Miles and Huberman. The study results indicate that the implementation of industrial relations dispute resolution policies through mediation, commonly called industrial relations mediation, in the East Kutai Regency, has been run by applicable regulations. The expertise of industrial relations mediators in resolving disputes is the main thing in supporting the successful implementation of this policy. Current technological developments also provide convenience for implementers so that the industrial relations mediation mechanism becomes more efficient. However, of course, there are obstacles to the implementation of industrial relations mediation policies, including the lack of industrial relations mediators, the unavailability of a particular mediation room, mediators who double as structural officials.","PeriodicalId":122710,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Social Science and Humanities","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124528405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in rural areas of Nandi County of Kenya, adoption of CSAT amongst smallholder dairy farmers is low. In this study, we analyze factors affect adoption of CSAT using information drawn from 350 smallholder dairy farmers participating in East Africa Dairy Development programme. Using ordered Logit model, we find that the intensity of adoption of CSAT is partly affected by access to extension and credit services. Specifically, we showed that farmers who had access to extension services and credit lines were more likely to adopt drought resistant crops but not biogas production, agro-forestry and silage making. Moreover, our result showed that owning a stable tenure system allows farmers to adopt technologies which require more land and takes more time like biogas production, drought crops, agroforestry, water storage and silage making. Finally, we showed that distance between a farmer’s home and farm is an important factor in adopting an agricultural technology.
