It serves as a means of instruction, and the younger generation frequently engages with it for various social interactions and communication purposes. While social media offers features not limited to education and is readily accessible to students, it can also impact certain academic aspects through this new digital medium. This study investigated the association between social media exposure and grammar proficiency among junior high school students, specifically spelling and punctuation marks usage. The researchers employed a correlational design and collected quantitative data. Through, total population sampling method, students from Grades 7, 8, 9, and 10 in a laboratory school in Eastern Visayas were chosen. The questionnaire included a spelling and punctuation examination, and the results were analyze using statistical methods such as mean, percentage, standard deviation, Pearson correlation (r), and Eta – correlation. This study's findings indicate no significant relationship between the grammar proficiency of the respondents and their social media exposure, as there is a relatively low correlation and association between the time spent on social media and grammar proficiency test scores. However, the study also revealed a positive correlation between age and grammar proficiency, implying that the older the respondents, the higher their knowledge about correct spelling and punctuation marks usage. Furthermore, the study also suggests conducting further research to explore the relationship between other components of grammar competency and specific social media platforms, such as TikTok, which has the highest hours of exposure.","PeriodicalId":12154,"journal":{"name":"EXCEL International Journal of Multidisciplinary Management Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136100481","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although technology advancement has made many things possible, the transition to online learning isn't simple. This descriptive study measured the level and challenges encountered in E-learning among one hundred fifty elementary school teachers. This study investigated the level and challenges of E-learning among 150 elementary school teachers. The research measured competencies such as individual media competence, critical media competence, and educational design competence using a survey questionnaire. The majority of respondents were female teachers in the adult stage, with teaching experience and educational qualifications. The teachers considered themselves competent in E-learning and disagreed with the presence of challenges. However, there was a significant difference in challenges based on the highest educational attainment. An online training program was proposed to enhance E-learning competencies, and collaboration with agencies and software companies was suggested for technical assistance. Adequate technical and peer support during E-learning implementation were recommended. School heads were advised to focus on professional development emphasizing technology integration, and teachers were encouraged to utilize visualization tools. Collaboration between school heads and teachers was emphasized for the proposed training program and strategies to address challenges.","PeriodicalId":12154,"journal":{"name":"EXCEL International Journal of Multidisciplinary Management Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134971874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on these factors, developing an early warning system is essential to prevent forest fires, especially in forest and land areas. One of the data that can be used to monitor areas where there are frequent fires is hotspot data taken from the NASA MODIS Fire satellite. Data mining techniques are carried out to process the hotspot data so that the distribution of hotspot swarms is obtained. The data on the distribution of the clustering of hotspots are used to detect areas that are prone to fire from year to year. This study used the K-Means clustering algorithm. The data used in this study is hotspot data from Malang District, Indonesia. The range of hotspot data from January 2018 to June 2022. We use Silhouette coefficient testing to get the best number of classes in the cluster—this study's most recent application of the K-means clustering method to analyze hotspot distribution in a spatial-temporally. We use hotspot data in Malang's forest and land area using hotspot confidence levels >80%.","PeriodicalId":12154,"journal":{"name":"EXCEL International Journal of Multidisciplinary Management Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136026599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To facilitate the treatment of patients that arrive in the Emergency Department a triage process is often implemented. Triage enables the Emergency Department staff to prioritize patient care so that patients requiring more immediate care are seen first. This study described the competence and critical thinking ability of triage nurses in a selected hospital in Lipa City, Batangas, Philippines. The quantitative descriptive correlational research design was used in this study. Data was gathered through a self-administered questionnaire that adopted Yoon Critical Thinking Disposition and Triage Decision Making Inventory by Cone (2000). Results showed that decision-making competency is significantly different among different age groups (F=40.93, p<0.0001). Respondents’ critical thinking ability based on objectivity, healthy scepticism, systematicity and intellectual fairness, intellectual curiosity, self-confidence and prudence was at moderate level, with composite means of 3.23, 3.43, 3.22, 3.37, 3.33, 3.28, and 3.27, respectively. Based on the results of the study, participants had a moderate level of critical thinking ability while doing triage. Also, over-all decision-making ability significantly increased with age and years of experience. Furthermore, objectivity, self-confidence, prudence and over-all critical thinking ability are significantly associated with age. Moreover, the triage nurses’ decision-making skills can be greatly influenced by their critical thinking ability.","PeriodicalId":12154,"journal":{"name":"EXCEL International Journal of Multidisciplinary Management Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134931368","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Scenario- Based Learning Approach is a student centred approach in Araling Panlipunan and suited to the 21st century learners. Thus, this descriptive quasi-experimental research design determined the cause and effect of SBL approach to the critical thinking skills of 40 Grade 9 students of Col. Lauro D. Dizon Memorilal Integrated High School. The results were analysed using mean and standard deviation, t-test and Pearson-r correlation. The study revealed that using SBL approach, students can become more involved, motivated, and develop their real-world skills. Application of SBL approach had great impact in the learning process. Moreover, there was a significant difference in the responses of learners in the pre-test and posttest. It means that the quality and content of SBL approach has positive impact on the learning process in critical thinking skills. This approach become more effective in critical thinking skills as learners had been able to remember, reason and pay attention to SBL approach video lesson. In addition, usage of technology improved learning. The opportunities for teaching with audio visual lessons are ideally adapted to the learners’ environment. Thus, learning scenario encourages students to think about what they have learned.","PeriodicalId":12154,"journal":{"name":"EXCEL International Journal of Multidisciplinary Management Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134922095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

COVID-19 accelerated certain processes forcing local businesses to embrace digital marketing transformation. Thus, it enables local businesses to intensify their social media marketing (SMM) efforts to remain relevant due to a series of lockdowns and government-initiated restrictions. Based on the systematic review, the researcher proposes a conceptual framework to answer the question: How can MSMEs cope with disruption through social media marketing to attain positive brand equity? The proposed conceptual framework looked into synonymous themes such as marketing competencies (MC), omnichannel strategies (OC), and brand equity (BE). Within the process, MSMEs can optimize their social media marketing strategies as a springboard to reimagine the new normal with significance on how the business would aggrandize its resources. Moreover, as of October 2021, the entire nation has entered the post-pandemic period, making this study pertinent for local enterprises. Indeed, MSMEs attempt to bounce back from a two-year incubus.","PeriodicalId":12154,"journal":{"name":"EXCEL International Journal of Multidisciplinary Management Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135542590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Furthermore, this study explored the role of gender, number of games played, and learning styles in problematic gaming behavior and the success-economic gain motivation of gamers using an online survey (N = 136). This study identified escape from adverse moods and preoccupation as the significant determinants of success-economic gain motivation of gamers. Escape from bad moods and preoccupation mediates the relationship between gamers' gender, number of games played, and success-economic gain motivation. Regression analysis reveals that active-reflective and sequential-global learning styles moderate the relationship between escapism, preoccupation, and success-economic gain motivation of gamers. The results suggest that the combination of active-global learning style and reflective-sequential learning style has the highest impact on the success-economic gain motivation of gamers. The results led to two conceptual frameworks that show how gender, learning styles, problematic gaming behavior, and success-economic gain motivation all play a role in game play.","PeriodicalId":12154,"journal":{"name":"EXCEL International Journal of Multidisciplinary Management Studies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135190125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
