For this purpose, a research study was performed with nine focus groups composed of 75 teachers, each working in a different elementary school in Guayaquil (Ecuador). The results showed that occupational risks could be classified in two categories: (1) risks stemming from the social environment in which the teachers carry out their work; (2) risks derived from the new organizational demands that affect the physical and psychological health of teachers as well as their social and family relationships.","PeriodicalId":120099,"journal":{"name":"Economic Anthropology eJournal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128065991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the first delegation stage, each country chooses whether to allow foreigners to vote in the election of the country. In the second delegation stage, the electorate chooses a representative deciding the amount of military spending to maximize the representative's utility. Without foreign suffrage, the military spending chosen in each country would be socially excessive. We show that giving voting rights to foreigners in a country can improve own citizens' welfare.","PeriodicalId":120099,"journal":{"name":"Economic Anthropology eJournal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127321217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is largely rooted in the 'skills' oriented view of the organizations. Chakraborty (1990) emphasized the need for inclusion of 'values' view along with the skills. Hence, he suggested the idea of 'Human Response Development' by exploring the application of transformational values at the workplace. Sharma (1996) suggested the need to move beyond the narrow definition of humans as factors of production to a broader definition.","PeriodicalId":120099,"journal":{"name":"Economic Anthropology eJournal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117052168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to WB [1], 40% of the world-wide tourists travel by air transport. The main aim of this study is to analyze the literatures of air transport and economic growth study. A systematic literature review (SLR) method was used in order to examine related articles from ABDC list journals which are ranked on A*, A or B, published in period 1992-2018. This study gives a summary of the trends and research themes which have been identified. Key scholars, as well as their approaches and locations and citations are also mapped. The findings of this study show that there is a growing interest in researching and publishing on Air transportation and economic growth. This study fills a deficiency in specialized literature concerning air transportation in developing countries and provides a foundation for future research in the field of air transportation.","PeriodicalId":120099,"journal":{"name":"Economic Anthropology eJournal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122983606","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is carried out via desk research. Secondary sources from journals, textbooks, internet sources and oral accounts have been adopted. The study reveals that Igbo people had a rich history of accounting thought which has remained partially documented. In some ways, accounting development experience of the Igbos was similar to the pre-history period experience of Mesopotamia, Egypt and other early civilizations as there were unique methods in the use of notches on sticks, vertical and horizontal marks on the wall, use of counters made of pebbles, grains and palm kernel stored in calabashes and wooden boxes as measurements of wealth. The 1494 double entry system published by Luca Pacioli, an Italian monk and mathematician, which brought sweeping changes in the method of recording business transactions across Europe and America, similarly affected the development of accounting in Nigeria. Also the formation of accounting bodies in Europe and America between 1854 and 1897 influenced similar developments in Nigeria which culminated in 1960 to the formation of the Association of Accountants in Nigeria and subsequently the charter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) by the Parliament in 1965. The formation of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) in 1979 added the dimension of internationality and comparability to the reporting quality in Nigeria. This paper will be of critical significance to accounting history researchers and students.","PeriodicalId":120099,"journal":{"name":"Economic Anthropology eJournal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121749840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They must not take unnecessary risks leading to financial distress. Excessive borrowing and foreign exchange exposure entail such risk. The most obvious risk is inability to make loan payments when due. In this chapter, however, we shall be concerned with managing the narrower risks associated with changing rates of interest and with changing foreign exchange rates.

Companies can hedge risks using various options, forwards, futures, and swap transactions. Hedging is about matching assets and liabilities in a manner that makes the matched combination immune to a source of risk. If a company has cash flows, assets, and liabilities denominated in foreign currencies, exposure to unexpected changes in exchange rates can constitute significant risk for the company. Therefore, the Board cannot leave it to shareholders to hedge the company’s foreign exchange risk exposure within the context of their own portfolios. Shareholders cannot protect the corporate entity or its creditworthiness in this way. Furthermore, a company cannot keep its shareholders sufficiently informed about the company’s current risk exposures for them to hedge their own portfolios effectively. Consequently, it falls to the Corporate Treasurer to hedge at least those risks that plausibly could lead to financial distress.","PeriodicalId":120099,"journal":{"name":"Economic Anthropology eJournal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126037754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the development of an increasingly advanced industrial era researchers want to identify variables that have an influence on employee performance. Especially in the industrial era 4.0 where there will be many changes in the industrial world, so the preparation is needed to choose the best employees for the company and the best preparation in terms of human resources themselves. The purpose of this study is to provide views, insights and material considerations for measuring employee performance. This research was conducted in Indonesia with a total sample of 224 respondents. The researcher used SEM techniques and SmartPLS 3.0 applications to process data. The results of this study indicate that placement has the highest percentage of influence while selection shows the influence with the lowest percentage.","PeriodicalId":120099,"journal":{"name":"Economic Anthropology eJournal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126138782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More specifically, the dete- riorating value of the Swedish daler was discretionarily blamed on monetary causes, e.g. the overissuing of banknotes, or nonmonetary causes, such as balance of payments deficits. This paper provides a comprehensive empirical assessment of this so-called \"Swedish Bullionist Controversy\". The results of vector autoregressions suggest that increasing amounts of paper money did give rise to in ation and a depreciation of the exchange rate. Conversely, nonmonetary factors were probably less important for these developments.","PeriodicalId":120099,"journal":{"name":"Economic Anthropology eJournal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126916708","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
