My Psychiatrist put me in this category. What follows is an account of what this is like so we can gauge what people go through with the illness at its worst. This is followed by an account of what can help with even this and the ways the psychiatric system can help. Clinicians, friends and family should benefit from this as it provides hope even when the illness is at its worst.","PeriodicalId":118828,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology & Behavior Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129240833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because counselors face ethical dilemmas regularly, it is important that graduate programs provide a strong foundation for new counselors to identify ethical issues and take appropriate action. There are no uniform or standard approaches for teaching counseling graduate students how and when to apply ethical codes and related principles, however, they are expected to be competent in the subject matter upon graduation. This article outlines a method for increasing participation in ethics courses and enhancing sensitivity to ethical issues through the grand jury mock trial classroom activity. To encourage classroom implementation, step-by-step instructions are provided.","PeriodicalId":118828,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology & Behavior Research","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122480306","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent years, the effects of dietary habits in individuals with ASD have been mentioned and a distinct correlation has been observed between ASD and gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. We used the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC) to evaluate whether we can observe differences in behaviour by administering High Phenolic Extra Virgin Olive Oil (HP EVOO) in combination with a special diet to reduce inflammation and consequently improve behaviour. We hypothesise that ASD symptoms will soothe at a proportional rate relative to their severity. Individuals that followed the protocol showed a decrease in severity of their symptoms. Regarding data analysis, we calculated the p-values to evaluate the significance of our results. Our objective is to establish the beneficial influence that HP EVOO has on the gut-brain axis by soothing ASD symptoms.","PeriodicalId":118828,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology & Behavior Research","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132258564","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The participants in this study were 114 Japanese female university students and 18 items were rated. First, the factor structure of the Azatoi Behavior Resistance Scale (ABRS) was investigated using exploratory factor analysis. Then, the validity of the structure was examined using confirmatory factor analysis. The result of the analysis showed that the fit indices indicated the best fit for the four-factor model, and the four factors were gesture, physical contact, adjustment, and typical behavior.","PeriodicalId":118828,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology & Behavior Research","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114788323","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We examined this by merging the three datasets reported by Vrij, Leal et al. (2020, 2022).Participants from Lebanon (n = 187), Mexico (n = 205) and South-Korea (n = 239) discussed a city-trip they had made (truth tellers, n = 328) or made up a story (lie tellers, n = 303) about such a trip. Some participants (n = 325) were informed about the relation between deception and complications, common knowledge details and self-handicapping strategies (informed participants), whereas others were not (uninformed participants). The dependent variables were total details, complications, common knowledge details, self-handicapping strategies and plausibility.All five variables discriminated truth tellers from lie tellers, but particularly complications and plausibility. These cues were diagnostic veracity indicators across different populations and remained diagnostic when we compared informed lie tellers with uninformed truth tellers.","PeriodicalId":118828,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology & Behavior Research","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133081836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But it is more than just knowing a theory or how to implement an intervention; clinical counselors need to develop a counselor identity that is centered on cultural sensitivity, cultural humility, and social justice. Regardless of the types of services clinical counselors are offering, whether it’s individual counseling, group counseling, art therapy, or psychosocial evaluations, who we are as a profession needs to be expressed in every aspect of our work. The guiding principle of ethical practice should be the platform on which our identity as counselors is built upon. I had the opportunity to interview Courtnee Reis, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California who provides services to clients from diverse backgrounds drawing upon post-modern narrative therapy and strengths-based practices. Her work demonstrates the ever-growing need to provide competent and ethical services while holding space for each of our clients to live a meaningful, productive, and beneficial life. The following is an account of our interview.","PeriodicalId":118828,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology & Behavior Research","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124109272","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Analyzing survey data from a non-random probability sample of 257 college students, results indicate that hope was inversely related with loneliness, depression, and stress suggesting that greater presence of hope is associated with lower levels of such symptoms (r’s ranging -0.15 to -0.23). Noteworthy, hierarchical linear regression tests show that hope was significantly related to depressive symptoms in college students during the COVID-19 pandemic, nearly twice the strength of other predictors. Implications of the study’s findings for public policy, professional practice, and future research are discussed.","PeriodicalId":118828,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology & Behavior Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122968457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was survey design conducted among 197 healthcare workers were selected using convenient sample from public and private healthcare institutions in Abuja. The Bergen Shift Work Sleep Questionnaire (BSWSQ) developed by Flo et al. (2012) was used to assess shiftwork collaborative scheduling. Procedural justice was measured using the Procedural Justice Scale (OJS) developed by Niehoff and Moorman (1993). While The Clinical Decision-Making Survey (CDMS) developed by Ferrell et al. (1991) was used to measure clinical decision-making. The result revealed that shiftwork did show significant relationship with clinical decision-making among psychiatric nurses [r (197) = .451, p <. 01]. Results from the multiple regression showed that procedural justice significantly predicted clinical decision-making among healthcare workers [? = .331, p <0.01]. The result of this study suggest that healthcare workers who engage in shift-schedule with a high perception of procedural justice have higher propensity to provide enhanced clinical decision-making at the workplace. The Nigerian healthcare reforms and policies should be reviewed, specifying issues relating to collaborative shiftwork for healthcare workers.","PeriodicalId":118828,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology & Behavior Research","volume":"196 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132520762","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study, which is part of such a dynamic, aims to understand the problems related to female entrepreneurship. It therefore seeks to investigate the role of psychosociological determinants such as social background and self-esteem in the entrepreneurial intention of female graduates of Université Félix Houphouet-Boigny. A sample of three hundred and thirty-three (333) female students selected by the quota method participated in this study by means of a questionnaire.The results obtained (Student’s t-test) show on the one hand that the social environment of origin does not have a significant effect on the entrepreneurial intention of students at the Université Félix Houphouet-Boigny. On the other hand, self-esteem had a significant effect on students’ entrepreneurial intention. In other words, the results confirm that students with high self-esteem have a stronger entrepreneurial intention than those with low self-esteem. This study thus offers a way of thinking about the approach to female entrepreneurship in our current social context, which is faced with an employment crisis among young graduates.","PeriodicalId":118828,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Psychology & Behavior Research","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122132616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
