A landing gear casing needs to be designed to connect the nacelle with the wing. This paper has the topic of investigating on the influence of the landing gear casing on the high lift aircraft. To obtain the influence of the landing gear casing, a CAD model is designed firstly, after that mesh and simulation are done on the aircraft configuration with nacelle and landing gear casing. By comparing the results with the original configuration, the influence of the landing gear casing is obtained. Due to the installation of the landing gear casing, the lift coefficient increases by 9.96% from 0.1987 to 0.2185, while the drag coefficient increases by 5.04% from 0.0536 to 0.0563. There is no big influence on the pressure coefficient distribution of the aircraft configuration.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"280 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134138378","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, the present work was investigate to elucidate the effect of FSW parameters on the tensile strength, impact strength and microstructural behaviors of dissimilar welding of the AA7075 T6 and AZ31B Mg alloys. Aluminum and magnesium sheets were successfully joined using FSW and the samples were tested for the mechanical and microstructural properties to determine the optimal welding variables. The welding process was performed using different feed rates, offset values and tool profiles while spindle speed was kept constant. The joining sheets were heated with hot air blowing behind the tool during the FSW process to prevent crack formation due to the residual stress. The tests results showed that the better tensile and impact strengths were obtained with square tool a constant spindle speed of 500 rev/min, a feed rate of 20 mm/min, and a tool offset of 0.2 mm. It was also observed the formation of tunnel because of low melting temperatures and insufficient mixing caused to reduction of area and notch effect in the welded zone.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122292999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The wind flow is simulated as turbulent, incompressible flow with a free stream velocity of 10 m/s and a wind direction of 180° and the inclination angles is chosen as 25°, 30° and 35°. The finite-volume-method is employed to solve the governing equations, coupled with the k─ε turbulence model with standard-wall treatment. The results indicate that pressure magnitudes on the panel were increased with the inclination angle. The maximum lift and drag force is appeared for the 35° inclination.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122751800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The triple combined cycle engine in this paper is a combination of turbine engine, ramjet engine and DMSJ (dual mode scramjet) engine. It can operate at three modes. The transition of the three modes is crucial to the performance of the engine. This paper establishes the performance calculation model of the triple combined cycle engine. Providing the control schedule of the engine, the engine performance during mode transition is studied. The design of the turbine-to-ramjet mode transition zone and the performance during of the ramjet-to-DMSJ mode transition are analyzed. The principle of turbine-to-ramjet mode transition is that the increase of airflow rate caused by ram duct air supply and the decrease of installation loss can compensate the loss of specific thrust. Therefore, it can be assured that the thrust can transit smoothly and is higher. Performance simulations show that the influence between the two flow paths is small, thus the thrust transition is stable during the ramjet-to-DMSJ mode transition.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116494956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However the responses of a cantilever beam under mixed mode of vibration loads, such as sine-on-random, random-on-random, sine-on-random-on-random, are rarely investigated experimentally. Therefore, various vibration tests of a cantilever beam made of titanium alloy were conducted including sine sweep, random, and the aforementioned mixed modes. In the sine-on-random test including natural frequencies as sinusoidal components, nonlinear dynamics occurred that response significantly amplified at the double, triple of first order natural frequency and specific values around the second order. But there were no such magnifications in narrow-band random on wide-band random excitation test, and the result of sine-on-random-on-random was similar to the sine-on-random experiment. Consequently, the resonant sinusoidal components caused nonlinear responses of the cantilever beam. The nonlinear dynamic feature is noteworthy in mechanical design.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126619459","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The thin channel (slot) connects two different pressure points on a convex surface and, thus the tendency to redistribute the pressure on the surface will maintain the jet attached to the convex surface. Numerical results on two-dimensional configurations show that the jet can be kept attached to the surface for a longer distance and more deflected than in the configuration without slot.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128086996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, the paper presents how to control fixed-wing UAVs using nonlinear control, and then compares a quaternion-based PD+ controller with a new quaternion-based controller exploiting the logarithmic map. The main finding is that the logarithmic mapping controller works well for flight control, and provides slightly better results than the PD+ control law.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133437584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reconfiguration mechanism is achieved by changing the controlled activation of the slots placed on a circular disk which is fed by Coplanar Waveguide feed. The antenna is symmetrical along the longitudinal axis and consists of seven PIN diodes on each half of the circle cutting the longitudinal axis. A total of 15 PIN diodes are used to make the antenna operate in 7 different modes. A beam shape pattern reconfigurability is achieved by operating the antenna in all the modes. The basic antenna is a circular disk without slots and is designed to operate at 2.4GHz. Frequency reconfigurability is achieved by changing the electrical length of the slot by activating the switches in appropriate positions in different operating modes. Pattern reconfigurability is achieved by maintaining the same overall electrical length in each operating mode but changing the switch positions orient in a particular direction in each half of the circle. The investigative simulations were carried out using Ansys HFSS. The proposed antenna resonates is applicable to WiMAX, Wi-Fi, WLAN wireless services.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133492627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
