Along with the obvious undesirable vibrations, these features lead to the most damaging impact of combustion instability on system reliability and structural integrity. However, the physical mechanisms behind these phenomena and their effect on the propellant combustion and the acoustic oscillation behavior have never been successfully established. Therefore, fully understanding of the nonlinear combustion instability is crucial in the design process. In this paper, the nonlinear combustion instability parameters are obtained based on the pulse trigger T-burner technique and the relationship between the propellant combustion and the nonlinear acoustic oscillation is analyzed. Some different formulas of the composite propellants are adopted during the 30 pulsed T-burner firings. The operating pressures of tests are set at 7MPa and 10.5MPa, and the acoustic 1st mode frequencies are set at about 170Hz and 255Hz. The results show that: the propellant combustion has significant influences on the mean pressure shift (DC Shift) and the initial limit amplitude. Under the same trigger pressure, the mean pressure shift and the initial limit amplitude are significantly higher than those without propellant combustions. The DC Shift increases about 13.7~39.3%, and the initial limit amplitude increases about 23.6~47.4% under the same trigger pressure. The propellants with different formulas lead to different combustion response characteristics, and subsequently the initial limit oscillation. The higher Rp of the propellant is, the higher oscillation amplitude will be in the T-burner. Furthermore, the mean pressure shift is proportional to the combustion response value of the propellant and the square of the acoustic pressure oscillation amplitude.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127400565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The effect of mineral fillers (CaCO3 and wollastonite) with a distinction in the size on the rheological, mechanical and tribological properties of polypropylene (PP) have been examined. Variety concentrations of CaCO3 and wollastonite are blended with polypropylene utilizing the velocity of the twin-screw extruder was 25 rpm and 190°C. Shear viscosity, shear stress and shear thinning effect where tested using SR20 Single pore Capillary rheometer. Tensile strength, elastic modulus, impact resistance, hardness, and coefficient of friction were exanimated. Likewise, surface topography wear track and surface morphology were exanimated utilizing AFM and light microscopy. The rheological result shows that both composites melt exhibited the shear-thinning effect. The PP/CaCO3 melt possess higher shear thinning effect than PP/Wollastonite melt. The reduction in viscosity and critical shear stress were observed for high wollastonite content. The outcomes demonstrated a huge upgrade in the mechanical and tribological performance for the resultant composites with increasing the concentration of both fillers especially the PP/wollastonite composites. Additionally, the results of AFM and light microscopy demonstrated that the roughness of the surface diminished with the decreasing of shear viscosity of the composites. In general, a great correlation between shear viscosities conducts with mechanical properties and surface quality for both PP composites.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122878441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this process, the dynamic characteristics will change with crack propagation. The solo crack propagation life of the typical stiffened panel is studied on the basis of synthetic research of testing and calculation in this paper. Some models with different length of crack are built to simulate the route of crack propagation, then the relation between the crack length, normal modes, stress intensity factors and residual life of the stiffened panel structure can be obtained by dynamic simulation. The resonant fatigue residual life can be predicted by measuring the mode frequency of the structure after these relations are known. An example of the typical stiffened panel structure made of LY12CZ is studied by testing and calculation in the paper. The results prove that the method can be used to monitor structural dynamic damage and predict residual life.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"275 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115998122","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Delays can be considerable, since ready-made replacement panels from the supplier can take days to arrive at their final destination, and due to the very high prices of these panels and the very large variety which exist it is not economically feasible to stock the panels. This work explores the feasibility of manufacturing replacement cargo liner panels, and cabin and cargo floor panels, in-house and on demand in the aircraft maintenance facility. The panels are grouped into part families, and reconfigurable specialized jigs are designed for the manufacture of panels within each family. A feasibility study shows that in addition to avoiding delays, this strategy can result in cost savings of up to 30% for panel replacement.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132541236","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All parts were installed on the Student Formula CMU F-611, which was produced by following the Formula SAE rules. It could be understood from the design that both the inlet angle and the outlet angle of a restrictor are 14°. The capacity of an air surge tank is 1,237 cm3. A bell-mouth has an inlet internal diameter of 58 mm and a length of 30 mm. The inside diameter and the length of each of the intake runners equals to 36 mm and 345 mm, respectively. A test on the chassis dynamometer showed that the maximum torque was 50.8 N.m at an engine speed of 7,000 rpm — findings which met the initial requirement of the design. In addition, the non-asbestos gasket was found to be the most suitable gasket for reducing the cumulative heat in the intake manifold, while the paper gasket was the most suitable gasket from the point of economy.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132145661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a basic, an auto-landing control system of Boeing 747 is designed. Based on the signal statistics of ILS, GPS, radar system and the image-forming principle of visual guidance system, the four guidance error models are established. Then a method of evaluating the guidance systems is put forward by defining safety cost and comfort cost according to performance indexes. Finally, simulations of auto-landing are performed to evaluate performance of guidance systems and a design-making progress is designed. The results can reflect the characteristics of different guidance systems and help to analysis the guidance strategy for information fusion.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"2677 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115943349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this method, the moving horizon least square method is used to estimate the vibration frequency that is adopted by notch filter as the central frequency according to the input and the output signal sampled by gyroscopes. Simulation results show that the moving horizon least square method is more accurate than the traditional least square method, and applying this adaptive control approach to the flexible hypersonic glide vehicle results in a stable attitude control system, which is unstable without adaptation scheme.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121872696","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to their advantages, gears are widely used in many sectors such as aerospace, space, wind turbines, automotive, etc. In these sectors the moment, speed and power values that need to be transmitted are increasing day by day. Due to the increased power and moment values, gears are exposed to high dynamic, impact loads and they are subject to damage due to these loads. For this reason, the impact resistance of the gears must be determined carefully in the design phase of the gear. In this study, an experimental method for determining impact loads of the gears is developed. A special drop gear impact test setup is designed and manufactured to determine the impact loads on the gear. The test setup works by dropping the load on the gear tooth from a certain height. In this way, the teeth are broken and the impact load, acceleration and displacement values are measured by using special measurement instruments which are attached on the test setup. The effect of surface hardness on impact loads is investigated. Two different gear samples are used in the experiments. It is seen that the surface hardness has great effect on the impact loads of the gears. It has been found that surface hardened gears have much higher impact strength than unhardened gears.","PeriodicalId":118501,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122838306","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
