Because of its great importance, many models were published, most of them with phenomenological approach. The current paper focuses on a new molecular model published recently which is capable of describing the normal blood glucose household. Type 1 diabetes can be modeled by transforming the original model, then soft computing based controller is designed. Rough rule base is generated with subtractive clustering which is later followed by its refinement by parameter tuning. As a result, an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) is designed. A simple absorption model is presented in order to test the designed controller for different absorption curves. So from the biological point of view, the slime molds are studied in order to understand the evolutionary step from a single cell organism to a multi-cellular organism. Studies have shown that the behavior of cooperating single cell organisms exhibit synergistic emergent intelligence, for example finding shortest paths. Just recently, simulation and experiments with a real slime mold (Physarum polycephalum) have been used for traveling salesman like problems. In this work we present a simulation model for the slime mold Dictyostelium discoideum. Different to other studies, here the whole life-cycle is modeled and simulated. This model is used to study the mechanism of cooperation of single cells: We compare the mechanism of altruistic group selection against individual and egoistic selection. A stoma character strongly depends on the level of air pollution in the area where the tree grows - as the stoma epidermis covers with epiticular waxes to protect itself against the negative environmental influences. According to the level of incrustation it is possible to distinguish five classes of stoma structure. An automatic algorithm recognizing a degree of stoma damage, based on the microscopic image processing can be useful during the process of environmental assessment. This work is devoted to a solution of the problem of stoma evaluation by means of texture classification. There are two principles discussed in the paper: The first principle is based on gradient methods while the second one uses a wavelet transform. Possibilities of application of mentioned attitudes were investigated and the classification criteria distinguishing the stoma character were suggested, as well. The resulting algorithm was verified on a library of four hundred real images and achieved results were compared with an expert's sensual classification. We have performed an image preprocessing, in order to detect the face of a person image. After this, we have enhanced the lips image using a color transformation, and next we do its detection. The parameterization is based on lips contour points. Those points have been transformed by a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) kernel, using a minimization of Fisher Score. Finally, a one-versus-all multiclass supervised approach based on Support Vector Machines (SVM) is applied as a classifier. A database with 50 users and 10 samples per class has been built. A cross-validation strategy have been applied in our experiments, reaching success rates up to 99.6%, using four lip training samples per class, and evaluating with six lip test samples. In the proposed approach, the PLS analysis is used to pre-process actual data and to provide the necessary background to apply ANN and ANFIS approaches. A reasonable section of this study is assigned to the modelling with aim at predicting the granule particle size and executing by ANFIS and ANN. ANN hold the promise of being capable of producing non-linear models, being able to work under noise conditions and being fault tolerant to the loss of neurons or connections. Also, the ANFIS approach combines the advantages of fuzzy system and artificial neural network to design architecture and is capable of dealing with both limitation and complexity in the data set. The efficiencies of ANFIS and ANN approaches in prediction are compared and the superior approach is selected. Finally, by deploying the preferred approach, several scenarios are presented to estimate the predictive control of spray drying as an accurate, fast running and inexpensive tool. This is the first study that presents a flexible intelligent approach for predictive control of drying process by ANN, ANFIS and PLS. The aim of the research was to offer a method which is applicable for setting the real traffic situations at a signalized intersection against the simulated ones, using a traffic model with similar statistical features. The simplest technical apparatus has been used to monitor the real traffic situations. Only one video camera is needed for data collection and it is located in the observable area. Hence time-dependent parameters have been collected which are available for the analysis of the traffic situations. In the case of both traffic models the analysis is based on a behavior model of inhomogeneous driver-populations and an estimation method. The behavior model of inhomogeneous driver-populations handles the time-dependent parameters of driver behavior as the most important predictors, describes the movement and the behavior of the inhomogeneous driver-populations approaching a signalized intersection, passing the amber signal light. The interval-values are built up from points and atomic intervals. The Boolean operators are extended to these values in a natural way. Changing the bytes of the traditional computing to interval-values one gets the interval-valued computing device. We investigate the operators Rshift and Lshift as well. By a simulation the interval-valued computing device can compute everything that the classical computing devices can compute using bits in a byte. Moreover, theoretically, this device is more effective than the traditional computers, because of the possibility of infinite parallelism. A method is presented to solve the Q-SAT problem in linear time using the interval-valued approach. Our device uses the usual concept of intervals to make the computations in a very effective way. The list-representation of the interval-values is also presented.
