Characterizing interface defects in stress cone area is of great significance to improve submarine cable manufacturing technology. This paper presents a new light-scattering scheme of scanning and detecting interface micro-defects of cable joints, which is suggested to be implemented in joint fabricating process just after factory insulation recovery and before outer shield-layer preparation. According to Mie light scattering theory, we calculate analytically the angle-resolved scattering characteristics of micro-void, water-bead, and antioxidant or carbide micro-particle in polyethylene medium for incident 632.8nm wavelength laser. Since micron-scaled particles scatter light waves into oscillatory characteristics of intensity amplitude due to optical interference, the integral or averaged intensity of the scattered light on a specific angular range should be taken as test signal with a high resolution for distinguishing size or optical properties of micro-defects in polyethylene material. Various micro-defects represent a high intensity in forward scattering, and the scattered intensity integration in 10~30° range increase monotonously with micro-defect enlargement. Especially, lateral scattering strength in 70~100° is remarkably sensitive to refractive index of micro-defects, as manifested by one-magnitude of differences in the averaged scattering intensity between micro-void and micro-antioxidant. It is well suggested that the ratio of scattering intensity integrals in 70~100° to 10~30° ranges can be exploited as a valid criterion for discriminating the species of micro-defects, which is expected to develop 632.8nm Helium-Neon laser scanning test systems of detecting micro-defects in submarine cable factory joints. We also calculate the angle-resolved spectra scattered by micro-defects from light sources of 450~550nm continuous waveband, which are smooth with the amplitude oscillation being significantly alleviated by intensity summation of incoherent waveband components. At this stage, industrial community and academic community have insufficient understanding of the characteristics of distributed photovoltaics, which will lead to inaccurate distributed photovoltaics models and insufficient simulation calculation accuracy. So this paper investigates the control characteristics of some distributed photovoltaics in practice, especially the voltage tolerance characteristics, and bulids the electromechanical transient models of distributed photovoltaics considering power control characteristics based on PSASP user’s definition module. The distributed photovoltaics user’s definition model established in this paper can realize the function of reducing and recovering the power according to the specified slope during the voltage drop or recovery, and the function of cutting machine can be simulated in this model. In case of any contingency voltage profile can worsen quickly and its improvement is of paramount importance. Therefore, precise calculations of reactive power adjustments required to improve voltage profile should be done. In this paper, an actual case study of 220 kV Mardan substation in Pakistan is considered, where estimations of reactive power requirement are presented. The study demonstrates the required reactive power adjustment to maintain voltages following established standards from the country’s electric power regulatory authority. The estimated calculations are presented for both normal operating conditions and contingency situations. Thus, a lack of system stability is a limiting issue in power transfer due to some transmission lines being excessively overloaded in the network. The main goal is to enhance the infrastructural improvements in transmission that have been made possible by integrating Flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) and distribution generators (DGs). These improvements have helped reduce the complexities caused by power losses and voltage stability issues in the transmission network. By incorporating DGs and UPFC devices into transmission networks, this research delivers voltage increase as well as power fatalities in transmission networks. With the use of actual data for analysis and simulations using the NEPLAN simulator, we developed Midway Node UPFC modeling for a 132kV transmission network that transfers power to the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) network. Simulating UPFC and DGs in the transmission network helps examine the changes in voltage profiles and power losses in four different scenarios. The definition of economic operation region is given from the perspective of multiple scenarios. Based on two-stage robust optimization, a modeling method of economic operation region is proposed, and its applicable scenarios are analyzed. The proposed model can be solved by nested column constraint generation algorithm. From the point of view of the flexibility of system operation, the characteristics of power grid operation under ultra high proportion of electricity receiving are analyzed. Case studies on IEEE-39 test system show that the proposed economic operation region can quantitatively and intuitively reflect the impact of renewable energy uncertainty on scheduling and provide guidance for economic operation. However, the medium frequency oscillation (MFO) may also exist in a PMSG-based wind farm when integrated with a voltage source converter based HVDC (VSC-HVDC). In this work, to investigate the mechanism and characteristics of MFO, the impedance model of the interconnected system is derived. Furthermore, the influence of the control parameters of both PMSG and VSC-HVDC on MFO is analysed with an accurate criterion based on the single input single output (SISO) equivalent sequence impedance. And the theoretical analysis is verified by simulation. Finally, an impedance reshaping control for MFO is proposed. In this paper, 11 indicators were first selected from four dimensions: economic value, social value, environmental value and strategic value. Then, the weights of each indicator were determined by the AHP-entropy weighting method. Electric vehicle load has transferable characteristics, and it is helpful to realize new energy consumption by using electricity price guidance. However, at present, the above aspects have not been considered in electricity price formulation, and the interaction between electric vehicle (EV) response and electricity price has not been considered. To solve this problem, in this paper, a new energy double-layer consumption method based on orderly charging of EV is put forward. Firstly, the EV load model is established, and then the electricity price model considering the fluctuation of new energy is established as the initial price curve of electric vehicle orderly charging which will be updated later according to the response of electric vehicle. Then the papwer establishes a new energy double-layer consumption model, the upper layer takes the maximum consumption of new energy as the goal, and optimizes the electricity price as the independent variable, and transmits the optimized electricity price result to the lower layer; The lower layer aims at maximizing the profit of EV, and optimizes the number of EVs participating in the response as a variable, and returns the number of electric vehicles to the upper layer, and iterates circularly until the best result is obtained.
