By exploiting the relationship between independently-optimal sum and difference patterns, the dimension of the solution space is considerably reduced and efficiently sampled by taking into account the presence of array elements more suitable to change sub-array membership. The new planar, circular-aperture field-distribution obtained includes radial-, azimuth-, and axial-components of both the E-field, and H-field with different linearly-dependent azimuth phases. Further, only the axial-(Sz*), and azimuth-(Sphi*) components of the complex poynting vector are non-zero, while the radial component Sr* is identically-zero, everywhere on and above the aperture-plane, at all radial distances from the broadside-axis, and at all axial-distances from the aperture-plane. The generated wave-front has the shape of a 3D helicoid-surface, with a pitch being a function of the kz/kr ratio. The diffraction-properties of the generated radiation- pattern are being computed by using the \"direct electromagnetic field integration \" method, reported by Walter Franz in 1948, and reviewed by Chen-To Tai in 2000.","PeriodicalId":117975,"journal":{"name":"2007 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117279155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
