Despite this fact, quite an amount of energy is wasted in todays UEs analog and digital frontends. Those are engineered for extracting the wanted signal from a spectral environment defined in the corresponding communication standards with their extremely tough requirements. In a real receiving process those requirements can typically be considered as dramatically less critical. Knowledge about the actual environmental spectral conditions allows to reconfigure both frontends to the actual needs and to save energy. In the recent past several approaches solving this issue for Long Term Evolution (LTE) systems have been discussed. The most sophisticated of those is a generic spectrum sensing technique, which we call LTE Cognitive Radio. One problem, which has to be treated in this system, is the assignment of each output in a dyadic filter bank architecture to each individual part of the observed spectrum. Small signal analysis gives valuable data about the dynamic properties of the system and helps in its design, operation, and control. Time domain simulation and eigenvalue analysis are the two main ways to study system stability. Eigenvalue analysis are widely utilized to perform small signal stability analysis. The dynamic property of a system in response to small perturbations can be predicted by computing the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the system matrix. The location of the eigenvalues can be used to study the system's performance. In addition eigenvectors can be used to predict the relative participation of the respective states in the corresponding disturbance modes. This paper described a new method and algorithm for the numerical solution of eigenvalues with the largest real part of essentially positive matrices. The method is based on a numerical implementation of Collatz's eigenvalue inclusion theorem for non-negative irreducible matrices. The OEO under analysis here is based on a resonant tunneling diode (RTD) oscillator driving a laser diode and a time-delayed feedback loop. The RTD based OEO is well described as a a Liénard oscillator with delayed-feedback. When subjected to external perturbation, the RTD-OEO generates periodic and chaotic states that are controlled by the delayed-feedback loop characteristics. The nonlinear phenomena of the iron core are carefully considered, including saturation, static hysteresis and eddy currents. The principle of magnetic circuit modeling is based on analog lumped equivalent circuits and the SPICE implementation uses the principle of modularity. Such a module includes a transformer winding and its core leg together with the ferromagnetic phenomena. The method allows simulating normal operation modes, as well as critical transients and faulty conditions, the simulation result containing all electromagnetic quantities as time-domain functions. Automatic synthesis of chaotic attractors using surrogate functions

This paper proposes to use a surrogate function to approximate the trade-off between the operating frequency and the behavior of the switching points of the nonlinear function, which is a saturated nonlinear function series approximated by a piece-wise linear description. The surrogate function along with nonlinear system parameters and real physical active device parameters are used to compute all the parameters of the proposed nonlinear function. Later on, by using the synthesized nonlinear function, we develop an automatic synthesis methodology for multi-scroll chaotic attractors. Furthermore, to scale the frequency behavior of the chaotic attractors, we use other surrogate function that establishes a relation between the operating frequency and the scaling factor. Our results indicate that our synthesis methodology efficiently generates multi-scroll chaotic attractors, since nonlinear system parameters, real physical active device parameters and surrogate functions are used to compute not only all the parameters modeling the behavior of the nonlinear function, but chaotic attractor parameters are also computed. This paper is concerned with a framework that combines a nonlinear observer for estimating unknown and time varying kinetic rates in reactor and a generic model control algorithm to manage the set points variations of the outputs. This nonlinear adaptive control scheme can perform well in the presence of external disturbances and it is easy to tune the design parameters.
