Although it’s often mentioned, a minor progress has been made to describe this issue more in-depth. Therefore, this research was carried out with the purpose to determine typology of European airspace fragmentation and to identify topic issues that need to be addressed in further research. The research is focused on literature review and analysis of European airspace design. As result of conducted analysis, five airspace fragmentation types have been defined and described. Accordingly, spatial distribution and temporal consistency of airspace fragmentation types were depicted as well as their similarities and differences. In addition, this research identifies airspace fragmentation type requiring additional study. Lastly, this research paper aims to contribute to better understanding of ATM system arrangement and simplify strategic planning at national and regional level in terms of capacity, cost-efficiency, environment and safety as four pillars of future development of European ATM system.","PeriodicalId":117687,"journal":{"name":"International Journal for Traffic and Transport Engineering","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122651450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is used to overcome the previous inefficiencies of the existing transport systems and to produce new transportation facility. This study aimed to develop trip assignment model for Thrissur, an Indian city to assess the benefits of proposing ring roads. Thrissur is struggling to incorporate the increased number of vehicles due to lack of adequate infrastructure and better traffic management programmes. The trip assignment model developed using CUBE 6.4.1 for Thrissur Corporation estimated the link volume counts in the road network and identified the congested roads. The predicted link volumes were compared with the actual volume for validation. This model was used for identifying the improvements required for the road network and two outer ring roads was proposed. The model predicts that the proposed outerring roads can reduce the congestion of Thrissur Corporation.","PeriodicalId":117687,"journal":{"name":"International Journal for Traffic and Transport Engineering","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129502870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the paper is to outline the methods used to solve the problem and to compare their application. This example shows the application of metaheuristic methods for solving vehicle routing problems of a logistics company in the Republic of Croatia. The aim of this case study is to determine the optimal solution using methods which represents such a distribution of available vehicles that generates the lowest cost.","PeriodicalId":117687,"journal":{"name":"International Journal for Traffic and Transport Engineering","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127235131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
