The key property is determined to be the sum of the path lengths between the dissimilar node and all the other nodes (or its maximum, if coupled to unconnected networks), and there exists a linear relation between this quantity and the critical coupling strength for the onset of a spatiotemporal fixed point. This holds true for a chain with the dissimilar node at different locations, a ring and complete network with one embedded dissimilar node, as well as star networks with a dissimilar hub or dissimilar peripheral node. Furthermore, we show that networks with high average degree and high clustering coefficient are more resilient to the influence of an external dissimilar system. These findings will potentially aid in the design of optimally placed dissimilar nodes for controlling chaos in complex networks.","PeriodicalId":11738,"journal":{"name":"EPL","volume":"353 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2024-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141778721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Following our previous work that revealed the reduction of the critical temperature by constraint relaxation based on the penalty function method, this study focuses on investigating the critical properties of the relaxation time along its phase boundary. It is found that the dynamical correlation function of MVC with respect to the problem size and the constraint strength follows a universal scaling function. The analysis shows that the relaxation time decreases as the constraints are relaxed. This decrease is more pronounced for the critical amplitude than for the critical exponent, and this result is interpreted in terms of the system's microscopic energy barriers due to the constraint relaxation.","PeriodicalId":11738,"journal":{"name":"EPL","volume":"69 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2024-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141778720","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although the ringdown and asymptotic tails of various brane-world black holes have been extensively studied, there has been no analysis of the massive late-time tails for the simplest Schwarzschild-like, brane-localized black hole to date. We demonstrate that after the ringdown phase, two stages of oscillatory tails emerge —intermediate and asymptotic. The asymptotic decay law is distinct from those associated with Schwarzschild or Reissner-Nordström solutions. Specifically, during intermediate times, the signal decays as , while the asymptotic decay law is .","PeriodicalId":11738,"journal":{"name":"EPL","volume":"48 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2024-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141778722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, by means of Padmanabhan's proposal on the emergence nature of gravity, we recover the ΛCDM model and the effect of the dark matter in the context of cosmology. Toward this goal, we use the key idea of Padmanabhan that states cosmic space emerges as the cosmic time progresses and links the emergence of space to the difference between the number of degrees of freedom on the boundary and in the bulk. Interestingly enough, we show that the effect of the cold dark matter in the cosmological setup can be understood by assuming an interaction between the numbers of degrees of freedom in the bulk. In the second part, we follow Jacobson's argument and obtain the modified Einstein field equations with additional dark matter component emerging due to the interaction term between dark energy and baryonic matter related by , where α is a coupling constant. Finally, a correspondence with the Yukawa cosmology is pointed out, and the role of massive gravitons as a possibility in explaining the nature of the dark sector as well as the theoretical origin of the Modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) are addressed. We speculate that the interaction coupling α fundamentally measures the entanglement between the gravitons and matter fields and there exists a fundamental limitation in measuring the gravitons wavelength.","PeriodicalId":11738,"journal":{"name":"EPL","volume":"43 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2024-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141740230","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been verified that the originally proposed action violates the unitarity consistency condition in the gauge field sector by exhibiting negative norm states in the spectrum. However, the cure came through the fundamental gauge fields properly settled, consequently, the action rewritten in terms of those fundamental fields shows to be free from any spurious degrees of freedom, and the model now becomes safe for further quantization.","PeriodicalId":11738,"journal":{"name":"EPL","volume":"55 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2024-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141740229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fluid description of collisionless plasmas is governed through modified adiabatic equations due to the heat-flux vector and finite ion Larmor radius corrections. The analytical dispersion relation of the firehose instability has been derived using the normal mode analysis and discussed in the solar wind plasmas. In the transverse mode, the dispersion relation of the Alfvénic mode is modified due to electrical resistivity and FLR corrections. In the longitudinal mode, the effects of the heat-flux parameter and electrical resistivity are observed separately. The dispersion relation of the firehose mode is modified due to the combined effects of FLR corrections and electrical resistivity. The graphical illustrations show that finite electrical resistivity and ion Larmor frequency destabilize the growth rate of the firehose instability. The results are useful for analyzing the solar mission data to study the firehose instability in the solar wind plasmas.","PeriodicalId":11738,"journal":{"name":"EPL","volume":"36 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141740231","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To this end, analytical considerations of the Navier-Cauchy equations describing linear elasticity are performed in the presence of a localized force center, that is, a corresponding Green's function is determined, under no-slip conditions at the clamped boundaries. Specifically, we find resulting displacement fields for different positions of the force center. It turns out that clamping regularizes the solution when compared to an infinitely extended system. Increasing compressibility renders the displacement field more homogeneous under the given confinement. Moreover, varying aspect ratios of the rectangular confining frame qualitatively affect the symmetry and appearance of the displacement field. Our results are confirmed by comparison with corresponding finite-element simulations.","PeriodicalId":11738,"journal":{"name":"EPL","volume":"63 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2024-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141719683","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adopting the Cole-Hopf transformation, the bilinear form of the considered equation is successfully constructed. Then the singular complexiton solutions (SCSs) are developed by applying the ansatz function method with a novel functional form. Additionally, we also find the non-singular complexiton solutions (NCSs) via imposing the restrictive conditions. As a powerful tool, the message-passing approach shows unique advantages in characterizing network percolation compared with the mean-field approach. This approach simulates the behavioural response when the network is damaged by transmitting and updating messages between network nodes, thereby accurately assessing the robustness of the network. This paper reviews the progress of message-passing approaches in network percolation on simple networks, multilayer networks and higher-order networks in recent years and discusses the application of this approach in other research fields. Finally, we discuss future research directions around this approach.","PeriodicalId":11738,"journal":{"name":"EPL","volume":"47 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2024-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141719684","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
